Angel Locsin is Elsa in "Himala" Remake

Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin received a positive feedback in her performance as Elsa, the lead character in Ishmael Bernal's award-winning classic film Himala, during the book launching of great scriptwriter Ricky Lee's Si Tatang at mga Himala ng Ating Panahon.

Reports have it that Ricky Lee is set to do a remake of the film and Angel Locsin was chosen to play the lead role originally played by Philippines' Superstar Nora Aunor.

During the scriptwriter's interview in radio program Wow! Ang Showbiz! on DWIZ, Lee shed light on this news saying, "Ang pinaka-highlight nung book launching yung Himala. At yung highlight naman nung Himala yung speech ni Guy, ni Nora, do'n sa ending ng Himala. So, alam ko na dapat may gano'ng excerpt. Nag-iisip kami kung sino kaya ang babagay sa panahong ngayon? Wala naman si Guy. So, sino ang makakagawa?

"Si Angel, nakatrabaho ko na sa Lobo at ngayon sa Only You, alam ko na sincere na tao. Mukhang si Angel. So, nilapitan namin si Angel through Rory Quintos, yung director niya, pinakiusapan namin. Excited daw siya and honored, so tinanggap niya agad yung offer, yung alok namin...nang walang bayad. And sinabi niya na medyo darating lang siya nang late sa program, sa may last part na, kasi may panggagalingan siyang show. So, okey lang 'yon.

"But later, nung makausap ko na siya, nung umaga nung launch, sinabi niya na, 'Kinakabahan ako, Kuya Ricky, kasi Ate Guy na 'yan, iba na 'yan. At saka kabisado ng lahat yung mga lines niyan sa lahat ng lugar. Baka kung ano ang sabihin nila sa gagawin ko.' Sabi ko, 'Ang gawin mo, galing lang sa puso mo at sincere na gawin mo sa sarili mong paraan, okey na 'yan.

"Kinakabahan pa rin siya. Kaya I think na kinansela niya yung previous show niya. Kaya instead na dumating siya sa last ng program, dumating siya long before nag-start yung program para makapag-rehearse. Para mabigyan siya ng guidelines ni Direk Eric Reyes, yung direktor nung show.

So how did the news came about?

"After nung launch nang nag-o-autograph ako, then after nung pag-autograph, may naglalapitan na nagsasabing, 'Tito Ricky, mukhang magandang i-remake ang Himala. At mukhang bagay si Angel.' Do'n lang nila na-realize na, 'Oo nga, 'no? Bagay si Angel.' Kasi, nilapitan ng mga Noranians si Angel before the show nung nagre-rehearse siya, nakiusap sa akin yung ilang Noranians na, 'Puwede po ba naming makausap si Angel?' Sabi ko, sige. Then kinausap nila. Sinabi nila, 'Nagpapasalamat po kami sa 'yo, Angel, na gagawin n'yo 'to, itong ginawa ni Guy. Honored po kami na gawin n'yo 'to para sa Himala, para kay Guy.'

"To be honest, nung una, hindi ako nag-iisip na kung sino ang babagay. Ayokong pag-isipan at hindi ko pinag-iisipan. Ang lagi kong binabalak, gumawa ng sequel ng Himala. Kumbaga, years and years later, makalipas ang maraming taon, tahimik nang nabubuhay si Elsa, buhay pala siya, hindi namatay, si Nora Aunor pa rin that time ang gusto kong gumanap. Nagkaanak na siya, yung product nung rape, malaki na, bulag na anak. Tahimik nang namumuhay ang mag-ina until bumalik na naman ang himala. Yun ang original kong plano sa sequel.

"Pero nang nangyari 'to ngayon, bigla kong naisip, kahit dito sa launch, at maraming lumapit sa akin na mga kaibigan at hindi ko gaanong kakilala na nagsabing maganda palang i-remake. May mga gano'n, ngayon ko lang naisip na, oo nga pala, puwede siyang i-remake. Kasi lahat ng sinasabi niya sa pelikula, nangyayari pa rin ngayon.

"Yung sex video na ginawa nung filmmaker na nakunan niya si Elsa na nire-rape. At yung prostitusyon, yung pagpatayan, yung paghihirap at yung need for a miracle na mangyari at yung hirap ng tao... So, naisip kong gano'n. Then napag-isipan ko yung mga sinabi ng mga nagpunta sa launch. Then ako din, bakit ko pinili si Angel? 'Teka, bagay nga yata si Angel pala.' Kasi, masang-masa at taong-tao ang dating saka sinsero. Yun ang pinakaimportante, e, yung sincere.

"At kilala ko si Angel, although sincere at humble siyang tao, open din siya na gumanap nang mahirap at adventurous at challenging na bagay. May gano'n siya na open siyang natsa-challenge. Gusto niyang naggo-grow, e. Kilala ko siya na gano'n, e.

"Sa ngayon, okey sa akin si Angel."

Adam Lambert is So Out with His Boyfriend Drake LaBry

Since becoming American Idol's runner-up on May 20, 27-year-old Adam Lambert has been stepping out with his interior designer/painter boyfriend 24-year-old Drake LaBry whom many Lambert fans recognize from the show. A source tells "He's been Adam's best friend and totally there with him through this whole [Idol] process. Several times he sat with Lambert's parents in the audience during the show."

Here are five things to know about Drake LaBry:

1. He's a Southern Gentleman
Despite being spotted partying at West Hollywood nightclubs like Guys & Dolls and shopping at Kitson, LaBry comes from Louisiana and has a Cajun accent to prove it. In fact, he still lives there – at least for now.

2. He's an Artistic Type
LaBry is an interior designer and a painter, but he is super normal and down-to-earth.

3. He's Been Inked
In addition to a tattoo on his arm, a source says he has two tattoos – birds, to be exact – on his chest.

4. He's No Fair-Weather Friend
LaBry and Lambert have been pals for years.

5. He's Got the Travel Bug
LaBry's backpacking trip with friends through France, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium and Spain was documented in a series of YouTube clips that include footage of him swimming, waiting for a train, watching Shetland ponies and dancing to his iPod in the Swiss Alps.

Jolina Magdangal will be paired anew with Marvin Agustin in the latest GMA-7 romantic dramedy series "Adik Sa'Yo".

Adik Sa'Yo is set to replace the Sunshine Dizon-Iza Calzado starrer "All About Eve" beginning Monday, June 8, 2009.

Sharing stellar billing with Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin in Adik Sa’Yo are Dennis Trillo and Jennica Garcia who will be romantically paired in this series.

Aljur Abrenica is Facing "Acts of Lasciviousness" Case Filed by Michelle Saludo

A 15-year old girl named Michelle Saludo went to the National Bureau of Investigation office (NBI) on June 2 to file an "acts of Lasciviousness" case against the Kapuso actor Aljur Abrenica.

According to the affidavit of complaints filed by Michelle, she met Aljur at Puerto Galera beach on Holy Week where the morbid sexual incident happened (read related article HERE).

This claim was immediately denied by Aljur saying, "Dalawang araw po kami doon [sa Puerto Galera]. Kasama ko po ang barkada kong sina Moymoy Palaboy, at na-meet namin ang barkada nila [ng dalaga]. Ang alam nga namin, mga promodizer [promo girls] sila dahil may ibinebenta silang mga products doon. Dahil maliit lang naman ang Puerto Galera, sa two days na nandoon kami, lagi kaming nagkikita-barkada ko at barkada nila. Pero hanggang doon lang po 'yon."

The NBI is set to issue the young actor a subpoena tomorrow, June 3, and give him the chance to answer the case filed against him.

According to GMA-7's Artist Center and Aljur's manager Rommel Gacho, they are set to investigate further on this incident and will issue the necessary statements in due time.
