Al-Qaeda confirms the death of their leader Osama bin Laden on Friday, May 6, through an online statement posted on militant websites by the al-Fajr Center (Al-Qaeda's online media distribution network), apparently designed to ask followers to remain united and powerful despite its founder's demise.
The extremist Islamic group also pledged to continue on the path of jihad (holy war) against the U.S. and its allies.
The Al-Qaeda statement entitled "You lived as a good man, you died as a martyr" reads:
"The blood of the mujahid (holy warrior) sheik, Osama bin Laden, may God have mercy upon him, weighs more to us and is more precious to us and to every Muslims than to be waster vain."
"We will remain, God willing, a curse chasing the Americans and their agents, following them outside and inside their countries."
"Soon, God willing, their happiness will turn to sadness."
These statement was issued in the name of the organization's General Command and dated Tuesday, May 3, the day after Osama bin Laden's death.
Despite these statement, the group did not name a successor to Osama bin Laden. But his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, is now the most prominent figure in the group and a likely contender to take his place.

Academy award winning actress Jodie Foster directs and co-star at the same time with Mel Gibson in the movie "The Beaver".
"Acting and directing at the same time is a very bad idea, don't do it at home. My first movie (1994's "Little Man Tate") I acted and directed, I remember saying to myself "Hmmm, I'm not gonna do this again. It's tiring!" she admitted, following "But at the same time, you do manage to get the performance you were hoping for. "
Foster, who plays as Walter's befuddled wife, said "The film has a strange tone to it. It's challenging for an audience because it starts out on a light note and has a very high-concept tone in some ways, and little by little it sort of becomes darker fairly quickly."
The film stars Mel Gibson as Walter Black, a suburban family man whose paralyzing depression leads to a personality split: A blunt-talking, Cockney-accented beaver puppet becomes his alter ego and coping mechanism, much to the amusement and consternation of his family and co-workers - and eventually to his own horror.
The movie which is showing today in the U.S. also stars Cherry Jones, Anton Yelchin, Riley Thomas Stewart among others.

Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley weighed in for their Saturday fight in front of a standing-room only crowd at the MGM Grand Garden arena on Friday, May 6.
The 32-year-old Sarangani Congressman stripped off his red and blue track suit and stepped onto the scale wearing just his shorts and white socks as a roar went up from the mostly Filipino crowd.
"I believe Shane Mosley is a good fighter and he trained his hardest for this fight so I have had to train even harder," said Pacquiao.
Mosley, who arrived wearing a light blue track suit, said he could hear the roar of Pacquiao's supporters back stage.
39-year-old Mosley is hoping to dethrone Pacquiao who is making the second defense of his WBO title he won by beating Miguel Cotto in the same arena in November 2009.
"There are a lot of fans here and I hear a lot of Manny's fans. It will be a big task tomorrow when I fight Manny," said Mosley, who is the only boxer to beat Oscar de la Hoya twice.
Pacquiao tipped the scales at 145 pounds and American Mosley was 147 pounds.

Tired of waiting for your long-distance love to come home and have a good tactile moment with him/her?
Lucky you.
Japan, widely known for producing prominent consumer electronics, robotics and the automotive industry, have created a device that, potentially, could let you tongue-kiss someone over the internet.
Nobuhiro Takahashi, a graduate student of University of Electro-Communications is shown in a video demonstrating the device - which currently only runs through a single PC, but could be modified to work over distance.
Takahashi explains that kiss data can be stored and replayed, so you can experience the same smooch over and over.

There’s certainly no other person who can love the same way as a mother, but does the same apply when it comes to the fierce and the wild?
This Mother’s Day, Kim Atienza pays tribute to the dedicated mothers of the animal kingdom and shows you how similar they are to humans in another exciting episode of “Matanglawin” this Sunday, May 8.
Just like humans, animals seem to show compassion and also have mother’s instincts so when Legadema the leopard and Kamunyak the lioness found a baby baboon and a baby gazelle, they took them in as their own young.
Aside from this touching animal story, Kuya Kim will also introduces you to Dr. Geoffrey Carullo who acts as a mother to Scarlet, a dog crippled on all four of its legs.
And can a baby have more than one mother? Get to know babies who are taken cared of by whole communities!
Celebrate Mother’s Day with the animal kingdom in the special episode of “Matanglawin” this Sunday, May 8, 9:30 AM, on ABS-CBN.

HOLLYWOOD - Zsa Zsa Gabor has been rushed to hospital with water in her lungs.
The ailing 94-year-old screen legend - who has suffered from a string of health problems in recent months - was transported from her Beverly Hills mansion to the UCLA medical centre after showing severe pneumonia symptoms earlier this morning (04.05.11).
Her ninth husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, 67, is understood to be with her, as he has during her many hospital visits in recent months.
The star of stage and screen has recently struggled with an infection in her left leg, and while doctors advised she should have the limb amputated – just a month after she lost part of her right leg – she refused the operation, leaving her with just a 50-50 chance of surviving for another year.
Her husband said recently: “We don’t expect her to get better. She will be in bed for the rest of her life.”
Meanwhile Frederic is pressing on with his plan to have fulfill Zsa Zsa’s “dream” of them having a child, using his sperm with the egg and womb of a surrogate mother, and on Monday (02.05.11) met with wrestler Hulk Hogan’s ex-wife, Pamela Bach, who is interested in helping him.
Of the baby plans, Frederic has said: “It was always my wife’s dream for us to have a child, and even though we won’t be using any of her eggs, she would be thrilled to know I’m going through with this.
“I want her to see and hold the baby’s hand. She will be a mother again at 95!! It was her wish to have a boy.”

Express, DJ Mo Twister, using his Tweetdeck account, reminisces what were seem to be a happy days between him and a "girl" he religiously bids "goodnight" with.
Although, he didn't mention any name, it is very prominent that his long messages pertains to Rhain.
Here is Mo Twister's full TweetDeck entry:
Meanwhile, despite Mo Twister's public announcement of his current state of emotions, Rhian remained silent.
The actress still don't grant interviews, she is never seen in any TV show talking about her relationship with Mo. As a matter of fact, her first and last twitter post after their exchange of tweets (read related post HERE) last Tuesday night was on May 5 where she only said "my last goodnight."
Although, he didn't mention any name, it is very prominent that his long messages pertains to Rhain.
Here is Mo Twister's full TweetDeck entry:
I saw an old strand of your hair in the shower this evening. I miss you. Good night...
Ive been home for days in darkness. Not going outside in case you come home. Goodnight.....
Today I remembered when I picked you up at the Amsterdam airport. I had flowers, you were wearing all black. We kissed in public for the 1st time. It was amazing. Goodnight....
We spent the night on a bench in Central Park, right after going to the Apple Store at 2am to check the iPhone 4. I left a message in the inbox of the display phone for you to read. Please never forget. Goodnight....
I have mole right next to my upper lip. I always thought it was a blackhead but you insist it's a mole and kiss it all the time. Goodnight....
We used to do crossword puzzles side by side and even over the phone. We graduated into other things like Monopoly, Boggle, and Hidden Objects. These were simple games but we made an awesome team. I miss you, Goodnight....
Every country we visited, we kissed a lot. Especially reaching over the table at one of those fancy restaurants. We always kissed. There was never enough of it. Goodnight....
We checked into our hotel in Athens Greece and we told them we were on our honeymoon just so we could possibly get an upgrade. We ended even getting assigned a butler. We called for room service and the operator answered, "Yes Mrs Gumatay?" And you always got a kick out of that. Goodnight. I miss you....
You were intern 'Denise' on my the Podcast during the first week, taking calls and you were so good at it. You helped shape the story to make it interesting. Goodnight, I miss you.
I would never rudely wake you up. It was always a slow, gentle process. "Im sorry to wake you, my love." With hugs, kisses, and pats on the head. When you stand, I'd kneel down and put the sandals on your feet. every single time. I miss you. Goodnight...
I was in Paris, you were in Singapore. We were talking on the phone as we usually do and I wanted to get you a bag. So you went into the store and I went into the store to look at the same bag, style, and colour. When you decided which one you liked, I bought it, on the other side of the world. It was fun, because we made our distance closer and an activity I enjoyed together. Goodnight I miss you....
October 2010. Your birthday month. I made sure that every week you got some really great gift. Your birthday never ended. Weeks past, and I'd still greet you. I miss you. Goodnight....
Tosh.0 was favorite our show. We'd order some expensive restaurant delivery food, sit on our huge dining room and watch and laugh. Crab, we had crab, big ones. It didn't matter how much it cost, I would pay nearly anything to see you happy at home. I miss you. Goodnight....
You would write on the bathroom mirror with crayon. They were great pieces of artwork-worthy of the Louvre. And I never erased it. I'd hold on to it until the condensation would take it away. Then, you'd make your next creation. I especially loved the one when you drew an outline of me so when I got home, it said 'Stand here' and I'd stand in it. And there was a kiss waiting for me because of the position I was in. I miss you.Goodnight....
We were walking in Paris on our first night there and we came across a street called Rue De Rohan. We said, 'that's our street' because of the play on our names. We kept repeating the street name over and over throughout our trip. Goodnight, I miss you....
We first started holding hands in public that day we went to Ansons near Glorietta. I was really happy. We were holding hands in the car, we usually then 'break' when we get out. But today, you didn't care. You held it even inside and I was thrilled. A big victory that day. I miss you, Goodnight....
You were in New York for work, I was in Manila. I decided to make dinner reservations at Nobu in Manhattan. I booked a flight and headed 20hrs your way for dinner that night. I was already wearing a suit coat rushing from the airport because I didn't want to be late for this fancy restaurant, stormed into the hotel room to see if you were ready and there you were in your bathrobe. We could have missed our reservations and I wouldn't have cared, it was just great to see you. I miss you. Goodnight....
You came w/ me to a meeting for Podcast sponsors. I was supposed to make a presentation and as I tried connecting with them, you blurted out an idea of yours and they loved it. You started taking over the presentation and everyone was so amazed at what you had to say. Youre so smart and I miss you. Goodnight....
You got the new car and wanted so much to drive it. So we were in Tagaytay driving around and you did such a great job. Rarely was I ever scared, you were so happy about the car. I miss you, goodnight..."

The Navy SEALs who attacked and killed Osama bin Laden found a 500 euros ($686) in cash and two telephone numbers stitched at his clothes in case he needed to run at any time from his Abbottabad, Pakistan, compound.
At least five computers, 10 hard drives, guns and more than 100 digital media items, including disks, DVDs and thumb drives were also found at the site where the Al Qaeda leader was killed. These tons of evidences were brought by the SEALs, members of elite Team Six, all the way from Pakistan to Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington, D.C.
CIA Director Leon Panetta said Osama bin Laden believed his connection was strong enough that he'd get a heads-up" before any U.S. army strike against him. He also said that bin Laden's confidence might have been the reason his compound was only lightly guarded.

Stephen Moyer, Cam Gigandet Shed Their Vampire Fangs in “Priest”

They both found fame playing vampires. Now, Cam Gigandet (“Twilight”) and Stephen Moyer (HBO’s “True Blood”) are on the opposite side of the fence fighting bloodsuckers in Columbia Pictures’ new supernatural action-thriller “Priest.”
Based on the popular graphic novel series written by Min-Woo Hyung, “Priest” is set in an alternate world - one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece, Lucy (Lily Collins), is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend, Hicks (Gigandet), and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses otherworldly fighting skills.
Priest learns of Lucy’s abduction from Hicks, the sharpshooting lawman of the tiny wasteland town of Augustine. A young man with a chip on his shoulder, Hicks is eager to prove himself worthy of his badge. “Hicks has had responsibility thrust upon him early in life,” says producer Michael De Luca. “It’s tough to walk the line of justice in the wasteland. But his father and his grandfather held the job before him. It’s his duty.”
Hicks’ involvement in the search goes beyond his professional responsibilities. He and Lucy were planning to be married. “Augustine is a small town in the middle of nowhere,” says Gigandet. “It’s not protected like the cities, so his responsibilities are even greater. It’s all about what needs to be done to survive. When he met Lucy, she opened his eyes to the idea of doing something because you want to. They were going to start a new life. But he gets drawn into another world and ultimately learns that the vampire wars are far from over.”
Bettany says Gigandet brought lightness to their scenes together. “Cam was so fantastic to work with,” says Bettany. “Priest is stoic, so he doesn’t really have an opportunity for humor. That all fell to Cam to provide. They have a grumpy father and son type of relationship.”
Stephen Moyer plays Owen Pace, Lucy’s father. “Owen and his family are people who’ve chosen to live outside the walls,” says director Scott Stewart. “The wastelands are a lawless place. It’s a very hard life and quite desolate.”
Moyer enjoyed the chance to play a character who could actually walk in the sun and didn’t require hours of special effects makeup for a change. “Owen is Priest’s brother, a scientist who works in an outpost way outside the city. It’s a godforsaken hole that my character has constructed. He’s got turbines and motors and he’s trying to grow things. It’s rather beautiful actually - kind of your dream cabin by a lake, only in the middle of a sunblasted desert.”
Opening across the Philippines on May 11, “Priest” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Visit www.sonypictures.com.ph to get the latest movie news, video clips, games and free downloads.

Lynard Allan Bigcas, a Mindanao-based car dealer and importer is being accused of smuggling luxury vehicles in the Philippines and believed to have a link with smuggling ring in the U.S.
In a separate raids plotted by the Philippine National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), along with United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent James Windsor, they seized a total of 25 luxury cars and 15 motorbikes including a Corvette, Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) at Bigcas' homes in Poblacion, Talakag, Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro City.
The vehicles include a Harley Davidson Martin Brothers motorcycle that was stolen from a Hollywood scriptwriter Skip Woods (Swordfish, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, GI Joe and the A-Team) in Houston, Texas last year. The bike is reportedly worth $80,000 (P3.4 million).

Houston police traced the bike theft to a gang that ships expensive American-made motorcycles to Asia via Mexico and Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, authorities also believed that Bigcas is involved in illegal weapons trade.
During their raid in Cagayan de Oro, NBI agents recovered a "black book" that listed clients from influential political clans in Mindanao that have bought high-powered firearms from the United States.
The weapons include .50-caliber rifles and M4 assault rifles that could fall in the hands of terrorists, investigators said.
A senior security consultant of Orion Support Inc. said the FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are now trying to identify the other players in the smuggling syndicate amid Washington's increased attention on terror threats.

Crowned as the Best Picture of 2010 at last February's Academy Awards, “The King's Speech” starring Oscar-winner Colin Firth, will open in Manila on May 11 exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3 and Trinoma).
Firth plays King George VI, who, to overcome his stammer, is introduced to Lionel Logue, an unorthodox Australian speech therapist played by Geoffrey Rush. The two men become friends as they work together, and after his brother abdicates, the new king relies on Logue to help him make a radio broadcast at the beginning of World War II.

Aside from copping the Best Picture prize, “The King's Speech” also won three other major Oscars – Best Director (Tom Hooper), Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay (David Seidler), while cast members Rush and Helena Bonham-Carter earned nominations in supporting actor categories.
Rounding out the multi-award-winning cast are Guy Pearce, Derek Jacobi, Timothy Spall and Michael Gambon.
Based on the true story of King George VI, The King's Speech follows the Royal Monarch's quest to find his voice. After the death of his father King George V (Gambon) and the scandalous abdication of Prince Edward VII (Pearce), Prince Albert (Firth) who has suffered from a debilitating speech impediment all his life, is suddenly crowned King George VI of England.

With his country on the brink of war and in desperate need of a leader, his wife, Elizabeth (Bonham Carter), the future Queen Mother, arranges for her husband to see an eccentric speech therapist, Lionel Logue. After a rough start, the two delve into an unorthodox course of treatment and eventually form an unbreakable bond.
With the support of Logue, his family, his government and Winston Churchill (Spall), the King will overcome his stammer and deliver a radio-address that inspires his people and unites them in battle.

Screenwriter David Seidler began reading about George VI after overcoming his own stammer during his youth and, using informed imagination, wrote about the men's relationship. Nine weeks before filming, Logue's notebooks were discovered and quotations from them were incorporated into the script.

Si Bianca naman, talagang beauty queen, kikay na kikay, talagang magkakasundo kami,” she said. Randy and Mariel, on the other hand, have worked with Pokwang in the past that’s why she’s very comfortable to be with them and is sure of their good “chemistry”.

Pokwang plans to have a house warming party this month. She wants to invite her friends from Star Magic and of course her best friend, the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino.
When asked what’s new with her comeback, “Abangan nila!” Pokwang answered with a naughty smile.

Shane Mosley PETA Ads: "I choose to fight. Dogs don’t. Dogfighting is for cowards. Don’t do it."

“Dogfighting is dirty, it’s cruel, and it’s a loser’s game,” says boxing champ Shane Mosley in new the new PETA public service announcement on television.
He might not be the hometown favorite when he squares off against Manny Pacquiao this weekend, but “Sugar” Shane Mosley will be gaining fans left and right with his new anti-dogfighting ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia. In the ad, the World Boxing Association welterweight super champion poses in the ring alongside the words “I Choose to Fight. Dogs Don’t. Dogfighting Is for Cowards. Don’t Do it.”
The new campaign also includes a 25-second public service announcement (PSA) for TV. In the TV spot, Mosley explains, “My opponents and I know that when we step into the ring, we choose to be there and that if we don’t come out on top, we can at least walk away. Dogfighting isn’t like that.” He concludes, “Dogfighting is dirty, it’s cruel, and it’s a loser’s game.”
Dogfighting is a vicious blood sport that leaves animals mangled and maimed. Even though it is illegal in the Philippines, dogfighting continues to thrive and is kept hidden from public view. PETA has seen dogs after they were forced to fight - they are left ripped apart, bloody, soaked in urine, unable to walk, and covered with cuts, bruises, and scars. The “losers” of these fights are often killed by their handlers.
Mosley joins a growing list of athletes and other celebrities - including Tito Ortiz, Ron Artest, Michael Strahan, Mac Danzig, Carey Hart, and many more - who have teamed up with PETA to speak out against animal abuse.

ABS-CBN Corporation topped the national TV ratings in April, taking a double digit lead in primetime, which is the most important timeblock and when advertisers place most of its spot buys or commercial load.
Based on Kantar Media's report, ABS-CBN continues to beat all networks on primetime with an audience share of 43 percent in April, or a 13 point lead over GMA Network's 30%.
ABS-CBN secured nine out of the ten most watched programs for April, excluding the Holy Week when advertisers discount the holidays in doing their media plan and local networks don’t do regular programming.
“Mara Clara,” the country's most-watched primetime teleserye for the past months, tied with weekend top-rater “Maalaala Mo Kaya” on the number one spot in April both with an average national rating of 32.5%
“Mutya,” on the other hand, claimed the second spot with 30.8% followed by Coco Martin starrer “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” (30.7%) and the country’s number one talent-reality show “Pilipinas Got Talent” (29.3%).
“TV Patrol” (25%), which recently delivered its successful coverages of the Royal Wedding between Prince William of Wales and commoner Catherine Middleton, and the beatification of Blessed John Paul II, remains to be the undisputed and most trusted primetime newscast in the country.
Other shows in the top ten are “Wansapanataym” (24%), “Rated K” (21.8%), and the recently concluded soap on vampires and werewolves in “Imortal” (21.5%).
Overall, ABS-CBN's national audience share for April reached 36% vs GMA’s 34%.
Kantar Media started releasing its Philippine television audience measurement data in February 2009 with panels composed of 1,370 representative households covering urban Philippines and reporting on seven sectors namely the National Capital Region, North Luzon, Central Luzon, South Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.
Kantar Media’s current subscribers include ABS-CBN, NBN, Sky Cable, J. Romero and Associates, Adformatix, Starcom, OMD, PhD, Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC, Maxus, Universal McCann, and Wellmade Manufacturing Corporation. They also include pan-regional networks likes CSM Media Inc., Fox International Channels, Star HK, Discovery, AXN, HBO, MTV, and Sony Pictures Television International.
ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court.
The consolidated net income of ABS-CBN Corporation, the country’s largest multimedia conglomerate, jumped by P1.5 billion or 87% to P3.2 billion in 2010, a record-breaking performance for the Kapamilya network. ABS-CBN delivered consolidated revenues of P32.2 billion from advertising and consumer sales, posting an increase of P7.3 billion or 30% year-on-year.

GMA-7 maintains its foothold in national ratings amid aggressive competition from other broadcast networks, based on figures from the most widely accepted ratings service provider, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.
Based on household data surveyed in National Urban Philippines from April 1 to April 30 (with 24 to 30 based on overnight readings), GMA-7 garnered 33.2 household audience share points, higher than ABS-CBN’s 31.3 and TV5′s 14.8.
The Kapuso Network also dominated the list of overall top 30 programs in National Urban Philippines with 20 entries, topped by the Philippine TV premiere of Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes‘ movie You To Me Are Everything, which scored a household rating of 34.0 points.
In Urban Luzon, which comprises 77 percent of total television households nationwide, GMA-7′s lead over competing networks remained at double digit levels. The Kapuso Network sustained its strong ratings performance in the said area with 36.8 share points, 10.4 points ahead of ABS-CBN’s 26.4; and 20.6 points ahead of TV5′s 16.2.
In viewer-rich Mega Manila, which covers 58 percent of total television households nationwide, GMA-7 garnered 37.6 share points, 12.8 points up from ABS-CBN’s 24.8; and 20.5 points higher than TV5′s 17.1.
Nielsen figures also show that among the three networks, GMA-7 was the only channel in Mega Manila that made a leap in weekday primetime (6:30 to 11pm) this April relative to March. GMA-7′s audience shares climbed by 2.8 points from 34.1 in March to 36.9 share points in April. Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s audience shares dropped by 2.0 points from 33.5 in March to 31.5 in April; and TV5′s audience shares fell by 3.4 points from 20.9 in March to 17.5 in April.
Furthermore, nationwide ratings data from January 1 to April 30 (with April 24 to 30 based on overnight readings) show that GMA-7 delivered superior performance in audience shares with 33.6 points, up from ABS-CBN’s 31.7 points and from TV5′s 15.1 points.
For the same period in Urban Luzon, GMA-7 registered an imposing 37.1 share points, higher than ABS-CBN’s 26.7 by 10.4 and TV5′s 16.9 share points by 20.2 points.
Year to date figures for Mega Manila show that GMA-7 posted 38.2 audience share points versus ABS-CBN’s 25.1 and TV5′s 17.7 for a lead of 13.1 and 20.5 points, respectively.
GMA-7 President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr. said that GMA-7 continues to lead in the ratings, despite the efforts of competition. “We are extremely grateful to the growing number of viewers who subscribe to GMA-7 programs making us number 1 nationwide. We will continue our efforts towards ensuring the delivery of unbiased and relevant news and public affairs programs from our News and Public Affairs Group as well as innovative programs from our Entertainment TV Group,” Duavit said.
This month, GMA-7 will be launching seven new network-produced programs, two Koreanovelas, public affairs specials and will be airing the year’s most anticipated boxing match.
The line-up includes the Koreanovela Secret Garden, Munting Heredera, Blusang Itim, Andres de Saya, Sisid, My Chubby World, Playful Kiss, the Pacquiao-Mosley fight, Ground Zero, Sabadabadog, Blessed: John Paul II and the grand premiere of GMA-7′s biggest television production to date, Amaya on May 30.
The Nielsen TV Audience Measurement used by GMA is subscribed by 21 companies including two other local TV networks, namely, TV5 and Solar Entertainment; Faulkner Media; CBN Asia; 13 advertising agencies and three regional clients. On the other hand, ABS-CBN is the only local network reportedly subscribing to Kantar Media, formerly known as TNS.
In Mega Manila alone, the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement has a sample size of 880 homes as compared to Kantar Media’s 770 homes. Nationwide, Nielsen has a total sample size of 2,005 homes compared to the lower sample size of 1,370 utilized by Kantar Media.

Talk N Text climbed out of a 17-point deficit to pull off a 91-84 victory over Barangay Ginebra in their best-of-7 finals duel for the PBA Commissioner’s Cup title.
Making up for his sorry performance in the first half, import Paul Harris poured 23 of his 26 points in the second half to help Talk N Text nab its 3rd win against Ginebra in the series.
Harris’ performance overshadowed the awarding of Ginebra’s Nate Brumfield, who was picked as the conference’s “Best Import."
Talk N Text also received a big boost from its locals with Jason Castro, Ryan Reyes, Ranidel de Ocampo, and Conference Best Player Jimmy Alapag making significant contributions.
Castro scored 16 points while Reyes, De Ocampo and Alapag chipped in 11 points each.
Brumfield, which served as the barometer of Ginebra’s performance, could only muster 15 points.
Mark Caguioa scored 15 while Ronald Tubid and Willie Miller tallied 11 points apiece.
The Texters, the reigning Philippine Cup champions, now hold a commanding 3-1 lead against the Gin Kings and is just a win away from grabbing the Commissioner's Cup title.
The series will resume on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Warner Bros. has just greenlighted the new and much improved trailer of the eagerly awaited action-adventure “Green Lantern”.
Watch it here:
Bringing the enduringly popular superhero to the big screen for the first time, “Green Lantern” stars Ryan Reynolds (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) in the title role, under the direction of Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale”).
In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Reynolds).

But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.
Campbell directs “Green Lantern” from a screenplay by Greg Berlanti & Michael Green & Marc Guggenheim and Michael Goldenberg, story by Greg Berlanti & Michael Green & Marc Guggenheim, based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics.

The film also stars Blake Lively (“The Town,” TV’s “Gossip Girl”) as the spirited Carol Ferris, a test pilot and the heir apparent to her father’s aviation company; Peter Sarsgaard (“An Education,” “Flightplan”) as scientist Dr. Hector Hammond; Mark Strong (“Sherlock Holmes”) as Sinestro, Jordan’s powerful mentor in the Green Lantern Corps; Jay O. Sanders (“Revolutionary Road”) as Carl Ferris, Carol’s aircraft designer dad; Temuera Morrison (“Star Wars” Episodes II and III) as Abin Sur, Jordan’s alien predecessor; Taika Waititi (TV’s “The Flight of the Conchords”) as flight navigator Tom Kalmaku, Hal’s good friend and confidante; Jon Tenney as Martin Jordan, Hal’s idolized father; Academy Award® nominee Angela Bassett (“What’s Love Got to Do with It”) as enigmatic government scientist Amanda Waller; and Academy Award® winner Tim Robbins (“Mystic River”) as Hector’s influential father, Senator Robert Hammond.

Rhian Ramos reportedly broke-up with DJ Mo Twister on twitter last Tuesday night.
The exchange of tweets among the two celebrities became sensational among their thousands of followers last night. It started when Rhian Ramos (@whianwamos) allegedly tweeted and then erased the following:
“Exactly 1yr of being together, we have broken up. Thank you for loving me. It had amazing moments and I’m sorry..”
The message is purportedly for rumored boyfriend DJ Mo Twister.
DJ Mo replied in wonder: “Really? Twitter” seemingly dumbfounded that Rhian Ramos just broke with him via Twitter.
DJ Mo then tweeted again: “You told me its your job to be single and desired, but what about the hearts you break along the way?” and then followed by “i can drown in tears all day or work & pretend im not the shell of the person ive been all week….”.
After a few minutes, Rhian Ramos tweeted: “what the heck is everyone saying that i tweeted?” as if she’s not the author of the previous message that was posted on her Twitter account. She then followed it with an accusation: “well thank you for breaking into my twitter. nice job. i hope you get all the sympathy you hoped for.”
DJ Mo answered back: “@whianwamos wow! are you implying now its me who did it? what else do you want to throw at me today? im just reacting to your tweet and now job is whats the link? i wasnt the one who did everything for the job.”
Rhian Ramos then addressed her tweet to everyone, saying: “and to the rest of you, mind your business, i’ve been harassed enough for today, thank you. as if would really publicize my personal life? as if i’m the one that is known to want to be a part of every scandal? thanks.”
Rhian Ramos denied that she tweeted the “break-up tweet” after one of her followers asked if it’s true: “and anong ‘break-up tweet- break-up tweet’ ang sinasabi niyo. didn’t he say i wasn’t his girlfriend.”
Mo Twister then tweeted the following: “there are a few people i wont fight here on twitter & one of them is you. i think ive been thrashed and lied enough to today. im done here & i wont argue w/ you. i hope your thailand trip last holy week went well.”
Yesterday, Rhian tweeted about abuse: “when abuse goes on for a year it makes you realize that you’re willing to sacrifice and become the collateral damage to get yourself back”
In Mo Twister’s statement yesterday, on the other hand, he denied that he broke up with Rhian via Twitter:
“for those asking and writing, i DID NOT breakup w/ Rhian via Twitter. This is absolutely the LAST THING i would have ever wanted us to encounter. Many of you dont know me personally or you may have an idea of what i may be like from what you hear, but this is a tragedy to me and one of the darkest moments of my life. I love Rhian dearly, much more than any of you will ever be aware of. She was the closest person to me and losing that is the WORST thing that can happen to anybody. So all these headlines saying that I broke up with her here are wrong. We are going through something that I am very sadden about, devastated. I would give anything to have my friend back.”

Definitely expect the unexpected in the country’s number one talent-reality show “Pilipinas Got Talent” as tension and surprises filled its first results night for the season. After the overnight voting, breakdancing group Freestylers led nationwide votes that automatically gave them the first grand finalist slot.
Judges, on the other hand, must choose whom between Rico the Magician and the Madrigal Siblings, who ranked 2nd and 3rd place in text votes, will also make it to the grand finals. Kris Aquino and Ai Ai delas Alas obviously succumbed to the pressure brought about by the tough choice they have to make as both judges suddenly burst in tears upon giving their comments. In the end, the Madrigal Siblings made the cut. The two acts will now advance on the grand final alongside other grand finalists to be named in the coming weeks.
PGT continues to be the country’s number one reality-talent show. Last Saturday, PGT scored a national TV rating of 27.5% versus rival shows “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” (16.5%) and “Talentadong Pinoy” (6.2%). It also ruled last Sunday when the show rated at 22.4% nationally versus “Show Me Da Manny” (10.2%), according to Kantar Media/TNS.

This Saturday, May 7, who among semi-finalists (clockwise, L-R) Virgilio Del Carmen Jr., B4, Angel Calalas, Skeights, Fernan Santuyo aka Madonna Pianista, and Lapinid Sisters will make to to the finals?
If you want to watch the show live at the PAGCOR Grand Theater, just go to ABS-CBN Center Road on Wednesday, May 4 and Thursday, May 5 from 1 PM to 4PM to get free tickets.
Don’t miss “Pilipinas Got Talent 2” airing every Saturday and Sunday, 8:45 PM on ABS-CBN.
