"Lady Antebellum" lead singer Hillary Scott and her boyfriend of one year "Love and Theft" drummer Chris Tyrrell got engaged on the 4th of July, when the 24-year-old drummer proposed to 25-year-old singer at sunset at a lake in eastern Tennessee.

"Chris proposed exactly the way I''ve always dreamed... Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee.

"We had just been on a hike and - in our workout clothes - he hit the knee! We feel so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together," said Scott.

The couple, who has not yet set a date for their nuptials, met and started going out in 2010 when they met on the Tim McGraw tour.

The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Indiana University student Lauren Spierer continues as the body found in Fall Creek on Sunday has been ruled out as a match for the 20-year-old, who has been missing since June 3. The identity of the person found in the creek remains unknown.

The discovery of the unknown female's body comes on the heels of another plea by Spierer's parents, Rob and Charlene Spierer, for information regarding their daughter's disappearance. Police have admitted that they have not received any viable tips regarding the missing student in weeks.

Spierer's disappearance initially drew the cooperation of more than 1,000 volunteers organized by Spierer's parents, who combed parts of the campus and Bloomington itself for days before being sent home. Some 1,500 tips have been called into police, but other than an initial lead on a white vehicle that appears now to have no relevance to the case, they have all led nowhere.

The lack of clues as to the whereabouts of the missing student has brought increasing pressure on the local police department, which has refused to say whether or not they believe that Spierer is even still alive. In the meantime, they have been quietly conducting searches of various places of interest, including her boyfriend's apartment and that of Jay Rosenbaum, who is widely believed to have been the last person to see her alive.

Journalists have been conducting interviews of their own with Spierer's friends and fellow students, in the hopes of unraveling the mystery surrounding her disappearance. Criticism has been lobbed at both the police department, for failing to conduct interviews and searches fast enough, and at Spierer's parents, who continue to make public pleas that, to some, appear to be directed at particular people or groups that remain unnamed.

The body of the unknown female found in Fall Creek on Sunday was thought to be either that of Spierer or missing local great-grandmother Dorothy Heard. Both women disappeared last month. However, police have now said they have yet another investigation on their hands, as the initial autopsy reports appear to indicate that the woman was black. Spierer and Heard are white.

Quentin Tarantino has reportedly commissioned Jamie Foxx to play the title role of his upcoming film "Django Unchained."

"I think, just to be able to work with Quentin Tarantino and Samuel Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and to be able to tell a story that needs to be told," Foxx told CNN, explaining why he took the role. "If you're a fan of, I mean, you know - it's just amazing. It should be an amazing thing."

Django (Foxx) is a freed slave who tries to rescue his long-lost love, Broomhilda, from a plantation owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), with the help of a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz).
Samuel L. Jackson is also included in the cast as Candie's slave, Stephen, while Kerry Washington is in talks to play Broomhilda.

Django Unchained is scheduled to hit theaters Christmas Day 2012.

Natalie Portman and her fiancé Benjamin Millepied revealed the name of their first born child.

The happy new parents named the child "Alef", which means the numeral "1" in Hebrew.

The name can also be spelled "Aleph."

Portman and Millepied, a choreographer, met on the set of Black Swan, which gave the actress her Oscar's Best Actress award earlier this year.

Fox confirmed that rocker Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson are indeed set to return to the judges' table for season 11 of the popular Fox reality talent singing contest American Idol.

ABS-CBN's hit Saturday TV program shares a story about a teenager who's out to confront typical teenage issues. Under the direction of Erick Salud, the episode revolves around the life of Jenny (Kathryn), a girl who comes from a poor family of magicians. Jenny was only two years old when a fairy granted her family with magical powers. Their special 'skill' helped them survive. As Jenny grows up, she starts to confront teenage issues like wanting to be popular and wanting to belong. As she struggles her way through teenage life, Jenny decides to join a talent contest where she can use her magic powers thinking that it will be one way to gain popularity. Though her parents were against her plan of joining, she still pursues. This is where the gap between Jenny and her parents begins to develop.

Kathryn will be sharing the small screen with Renz Fernandez, son of Lorna Tolentino and Rudy Fernandez. Other cast members include Lito Pimentel, Maricar De Mesa, and Perla Bautista.

International singing sensation Charice was chosen to sing "Far as The Sky," the official theme song of the Japanese mystery/crime drama titled Bull Doctor.

Bull Doctor, which will start airing this July 2011, is topbilled by Japanese actresses Esumi Makiko and Ishihara Satomi who portray a forensic scientist and a police detective, respectively.

In Warner Japan's official website, Bull Doctor producer Kayuza Toda was quoted as saying: "It was shocking when I first heard Charice's songs. I was so fascinated by her voice which is so stretching and powerful, and the experience got me reaching out to her and asking for a song. I have this strong confidence and conviction in my heart that the message of humanism this drama will give, and the emotions that Charice will bring to this drama, will make a fantastic collaboration."

For her part, Charice was also quoted by Warner as saying: "This song has full of inspiration...it has a clear message that even when you tend to get down by encountering obstacles, difficulties in life, there IS always hope."

The 19-year-old Filipina singer also dedicated the song to the Japanese people who were affected by the disastrous tidal wave last March 11.

Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre's comeback rumors took a turn today when former teammate Ryan Longwell spoke with the media.

The comeback rumors had begun to heat-up after NFL Network contributor and former Cowboys GM wrote in a chat on Tuesday that he believed Favre would be interested in returning if the situation was right.

But today the news is in a far different tone with a much closer source. According to an interview with Fox Sports North, Longwell is pretty certain No. 4 isn't going to make a return:

"I talk to him at least once a week. We are good friends. He is doing great; his family is doing great. He is really excited about not having any questions about whether he is coming back or not, there is no doubt. He is really doing well."

Even longtime Dallas Cowboys executive Gil Brandt gave his piece during a live chat interview with NFL.com on Tuesday on what the chances of Favre returning were, he replied, "I do think Favre would be interested in talking to a team about returning. But I don't see a team out there right now that would bring him back as a starter."

Cindy Anthony could face perjury charges for lying in her daughter Casey Anthony’s high-profile murder trial, a prosecutor in the case said Wednesday.

In all likelihood however, she probably will not.

During the trial Cindy testified that she was responsible for the chloroform web searches on the family’s home computer but records revealed she was actually at work during the time that the queries were made.

When asked by NBC’s Today Show whether legal action would be taken against the allegedly fibbing mom, state prosecutor Jeff Ashton responded,

“I think there could be. That will be a decision made by another branch of our office.”

Ashton himself is retiring, an action that he had delayed to take on the Casey Anthony case which ended on Tuesday by a jury acquitting Anthony of murder, manslaughter and child abuse.

While Casey was convicted of lying to police, the crime is only a misdemeanor and usually results in little to no jail time.

According to Ashton, even if he wasn’t retiring, he doesn’t know if he would pursue Cindy Anthony for perjury, as he revealed that being in field for 30 years accustomed him to family members lying to “help their fellow family members.”

“This, of course, was a rather important, you know, deception, if you will, that obviously was proven to be so by the other evidence. What they do with it is going to be a difficult decision that I’m glad I don’t have to make,” the former prosecutor explained.

Philippine Azkals threw a victory party on Sunday night after beating Sri Lanka's Brave Reds (4-0) the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The Azkals' party were attended by their family, friends and supporters in and out of showbiz.

Angel Locsin, who is being wooed by Azkals heartthrob Phil Younghusband, was also present at the party.

Guests saw the two cozying up to each other, with Younghusband even giving the actress a kiss.

"I'm happy to be with Angel and I'm happy she came to watch. It inspired me. I hope she will watch future matches," said Younghusband who already asked the actress to watch their next match in Kuwait.

Angel, meanwhile, extend her congratulations greeting to the whole team, "Well, of course, siyempre congratulations sa lahat ng kasali, nag-train, sumuporta. Congratulations sa lahat ng Filipino at sa players na magagaling. Congratulations!" she said.

Those were the series of messages posted this morning in Heart Evangelista's twitter account @heart021485. Message that clearly refers to her "Temptation Island" co-star Marian Rivera.




It will be recalled that the two Kapuso stars got involved in a disagreements during the shooting of the movie "Temptation Island" in Laoag, Ilocos (read related article HERE).

But before those tweets became another reason for a much bigger feud between the two stars, Heart's fans club "Heartworld", in a separate twitter message, said that Heart was not in anyway responsible for those malicious messages and that their idol's twitter account got hacked.



"We would like inform you guys that Heart Evangelista's twitter account has been hacked.Any tweets from @heart021485 is not basically from her..Please RT."

"Twitter got hacked.We called her and she's in the mall right now shopping..Please beware."

"Please help us inform everyone that Heart's twitter account has been hacked."

"One more thing Heart is not using iPhone to tweet coz her twitter doesn't work there.If you will notice the recent tweets were posted using iPhone..Heart uses web to tweet..FYI!"

Daniel Matsunaga, Heart's boyfriend who is currently with the actress in Brazil for vacation, also cleared Heart's name on the issue.

Just to make it on time for Kylie Minogue's "The Aphrodite" concert at the Araneta Colisuem in Cubao, Anne Curtis bravely rode the MRT.

Anne, being known to be one of the most glamorous celebrities there is in Manila, did not hesitate to ride the MRT - the fastest and most practical means to beat EDSA's heavy traffic during peak hours last night. Although, it might not be the most comfortable way, Anne, who came straight from the Manila airport, tweeted how she is enjoying her MRT adventure with her assistant Maryann.

The marriage of 94-year-old Hollywood stage and screen award-winning veteran actress Celeste Holm with 48-year-old husband Frank Basile causes legal feud against her sons over her money and Central Park West apartment.

On her 87th birthday in 2004, Holm married her fifth husband, a waiter and aspiring opera singer Basile.

But Holm's children claimed that Basile is only taking advantage of a rich elderly woman who is suffering from Alzheimer’s.

Daniel Dunning, one of Holm's sons, took control of his mother's money in 2002 and ultimately put all of it - her apartment, investments, everything - into an irrevocable trust that would pay Ms. Holm’s expenses, about $300,000 a year, according to Mr. Dunning’s deposition. Mr. Dunning and his children borrowed $533,000 from Ms. Holm, and her elder son Theodor Holm Nelson borrowed money as well.

Basile said, "My job for the last six years has been to get my wife through cataract surgery, two bouts of skin cancer, bleeding ulcers, a collapsed lung, hip replacements, pacemakers, and provide a quality of life."

Mediaite reports that Rush Limbaugh appeared in Joplin, Missouri on July 4 to give a rousing Independence Day 2011 speech on American exceptionalism and to praise the citizens of Joplin for their perseverance in the face of their recent tornado-caused adversity. Not only did Rush have inspiring words, but he also provided the enthusiastic crowd with plenty of free bottles of his new beverage Two If by Tea.

Rush emphasized America is great because of the individual and not because of any “elite government,” adding:

Two female household helps of Diamond Star Maricel Soriano filed a complaint before Barangay Headquarters in Makati City for physical and verbal abuse, to the extent of threatening to shoot them with a gun.

Camille Acojedo, 18 and May Cachuela, 22, claimed they suffered physical and verbal abuse after being hired to work for Soriano on June 18.

The two revealed that that the actress oftentimes cursed at them for no reasons: “Kasi si ma’am kapag may bisita, mabait po talaga siya. [Pero] naranasan ko kay ma’am talaga ‘yong pagmumura niya.. hindi namin masikmura ‘yong pagmumura niya… kung gaano kalutong, parang pinapakain sa amin ‘yong mura niya.” Acojedo said.

Cachuela added: “Laging may mura, magpapaabot lang siya. Si ma’am, ayaw niyang konting mangatwiran kami. Gusto niya lagi siyang tama.”

The two finally decided to leave Soriano when the latter allegedly kicked Cachuela on June 29.

“May recording daw po siya so ‘yon nag-aayos kami ng mga gamit niya may hinahanap siyang kulay yellow, di ko alam bitbit ng isang katulong namin. Tapos hinanap na ‘yong bilog, pang-make up daw po niya. Hindi namin mahanap, ‘yon nagwala, nagmumura. Sabi niya, ‘Papatayin ko kayo,’” Cachuela said.

Cachuela said she was crying when Soriano asked her to get her cigarette case. This, she said, made the actress even more furious.

“Noong binigay ko ang cigarette case, sinipa niya po ako. Sabi ko, ‘Ma’am masakit, masakit po.’ Sabi niya, ‘Iiyak ka pa. Magpa-medical ka kung gusto mo. Hindi ako natatakot sa’yo. Mag-demanda ka. Marami akong pera, hindi mo ako kaya,’” Cachuela recounted.

Cahuela also said Soriano threatened to shoot her. The actress was about to get her gun when her son Sebastian intervened in the argument, the household worker added.

It was then that the household workers sought the help of the security guards and the building administrator of the condominium where Soriano is staying. They said they agreed to hide them.

They also recounted their ordeal to columnist and radio commentator Mon Tulfo, whose staff helped them get out of the area.

Cachuela claimed that household workers before them had also suffered the same fate.

Makati Barangay officials will conduct a hearing on the complaint filed by the household workers against Soriano on July 6.

If Soriano refuses to attend the hearing, reports said the complaint will be brought to the police.

Soriano has yet to issue a statement on the controversy.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe reveals his dark past in his interview with GQ U.K. magazine.

The 22-year-old star admits he became "so reliant" on booze to fuel his days while filming the "Harry Potter" film series in his teen years.

"I became so reliant on alcohol to enjoy stuff. There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person's lifestyle that really isn't suited to me." said Radcliffe, who currently appears in Broadway's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, in his interview with GQ.

Clean and sober since August 2010, Radcliffe tells GQ his life has slowed down considerably since he kicked his habit nearly a year ago.

"As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn't work for me. I'm actually enjoying the fact I can have a relationship with my girlfriend where I'm really pleasant and I'm not f--king up totally all the time. There's no shame in enjoying the quiet life. And that's been the realization of the past few years for me." he said.

"Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea", the newest NBC sitcom based on Chelsea Handler's 2008 memoir of the same name and portrays a semi-autobiographical Handler and her friends’ experiences in their early-20s in Los Angeles, is undergoing a cast shakeup according to a report by TVLine.

NBC has let go of the series' three actors - Natalie Morales (White Collar, Parks and Recreation), Angel Laketa Moore (ER), and comedian Jo Koy (a Chelsea Lately contributor and has appeared on over 38 episodes of her show "Chelsea Lately") - for creative reasons.

Still in the cast are "That '70s Show" star Laura Prepon as Chelsea Handler, Mark Povinelli (Water for Elephants), Lauren Lapkus (The Middle) and Lenny Clarke (Rescue Me). Handler, who also executive produces, will make guest appearances as her own sister.

A hacked Fox News twitter account sent a six bogus messages on its political account (@foxnewspolitics) reporting that President Barack Obama had been assassinated in Iowa.

The series of tweets showed up early Monday morning on the account, which has more than 36,000 followers.

Fox News issued a statement calling the tweets "malicious" and "false," and said the hacking incident is under investigation.

FoxNews.com said that it alerted the U.S. Secret Service, and the company is working with Twitter to address the situation.

The tweets have since been deleted.

It was a blast! That's how I would describe the premiere night of GMA Films and Regal Entertainment's latest joint movie project "Temptation Island" last night at SM Megamall Cinema 9.

Although the invitation said 7 p.m., people lined up as early as 2 p.m. The huge number of cast, well-known celebrities and politicians, GMA and Regal executives and staff, people from the press and fans gather together to witnessed, for the first time, the most anticipated movie of the season.

Present during the event were the cast of "Temptation Island" - Marian Rivera, Rufa Mae Quinto, Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff, Tom Rodriguez, Mikael Daez and John Lapus. Visibly not present were Heart Evangelista, Dennis Trillo and Aljur Abrenica.

Director Chris Martinez also graced the event.

Other notable personalities seen are Mother Lily Monteverde and her daughter Roselle Monteverde-Teo, Senators Richard Gordon and Antonio Trillanes, Korina Sanchez, Col.
