“Watchmen” Premieres on HBO and HBO GO on SKY

10/20/2019 07:31:00 PM

"Watchmen," Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' 1980s graphic novel gets reimagined in HBO's new series that's set to premiere on October 21.

Veteran actors Don Johnson, Regina King, and Jeremy Irons are set to lead the newest HBO series, with Nicole Kassell directing the pilot from a script written by the Emmy-winning producer of "The Leftovers," Damon Lindelof.

"Watchmen" is more an extension of the popular graphic novel than an adaptation and is set in an alternate world of 2019 where masked vigilantes roam the streets. In this 9-episode show, Angela Abar (Regina King) is a detective who becomes a vigilante named Sister Night.

According to Lindelof in his interview at this year's New York Comic Con,  "I had such reverence for the original material and just doing that again wasn't necessarily what I wanted to see as a fan," he said. "It was very much of its time, yes it's an alternate history [of the 1980s] but I still felt a lot of things were are represented in the graphic novel. So I asked myself, 'What happened afterwards?," he added.

"Watchmen" premieres on Monday 21 October 9 AM (10 AM from 4 November) on HBO GO and HBO with a replay on HBO on the same day at 10 PM while new episodes premiere every Monday.

Don't miss this exciting show and subscribe now to HBO GO only on SKY for as low as P150/month.
