Dayanara Torres, Miss Universe 1993 and former actress in the Philippines, was shocked Maxine Medina did not enter the Top 3 spots of the 65th edition of Miss Universe pageant held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines on Monday, January 30.
The Puerto Rican beauty queen was one the six world-renowned personalities who sat as telecast judges of the beauty competition.
According to Dayanara, the Pinay beauty queen was such a beautiful, sweet, natural and real candidate, a qualities she was looking for in a Miss Universe.
"I'm in shock too!" she told the press at the sidelight of the afterparty at Okada Manila.
"She was incredible, and very beautiful, and sweet, and one of the things we were looking for. She wasn't robotic, with a tough attitude, because we want somebody very much natural, and real. And she was that," she said.
Miss France Iris Mittenaere was crowned Miss Universe 2016 beating other 85 candidates from around the universe.
