"Respeto," a film about an amateur rapper and a grumpy poet who cross paths during a stand-off between riot police and squatters, was named the overall winner in the 13th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival bagging seven awards including Best Picture in the awards night held Sunday, August 13, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
The film also bagged the Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, NETPAC Jury Prize, and the Audience Choice Award.
