Inspirational speaker and author Francis Kong highlights some of the most practical and relevant leadership learnings he holds in high regard in “Leadership That Matters,” his most awaited new book published by ABS-CBN Publishing.
A few days before its official launch at The Philippine Readers and Writers Festival in Raffles Makati, Kong’s latest manual already took the third spot in National Book Store’s bestseller list for the month of August.
“Leadership That Matters” is a compilation of the business guru’s motivational articles on self-improvement and developing the right character and discipline to become a good leader. Despite his numerous talks and books in the past, the author seeks to continue sharing his latest inspiration to lead people in different business enterprises.
Kong wrote, “I want to carry the awesome responsibility of sharing critical ideas that are both relevant and effective in equipping leaders with the knowledge to do better and become better. I hope that this book is a tool they can use for their own leadership journey.”
The author also cited that it’s not enough to learn about management principles. The ability to lead has to be complemented with the openness for constant improvement.
“Throughout the years, from one training after another, the lessons, challenges, and wisdom continue to flow, leaving me each time with the humbling realization that my expertise on ‘leadership issues’ is so little, short, and limited. There could never be a fixed menu for leadership principles that one can teach, much less adopt for any given situation,” shared the modest speaker.
Last year, the corporate trainer delivered a total of 336 speaking engagements and training sessions here and abroad. Through his talks, he has captured not only the corporate world but also millennials and inspired them to become better leaders by showing them the path to success.
“Each person has his or her own leadership journey and no story is ever the same,” Kong alluded. He hopes that by sharing his motivational stories in the manual, readers will be moved to bravely face their own challenges.
