Star Cinema's film "Kasal" continues its blockbuster streak as it captivates more audiences worldwide and even landed on the top 20 list of box office movies in the United States and Canada.
According to a report by the New York Times, "Kasal" ranked 19th and has already earned $329,153 from 57 locations in its first week of showing at U.S. and Canadian theaters.
In the local scene, the controversial film topbilled by Paulo Avelino, Derek Ramsay, and Bea Alonzo and directed by Ruel Bayani also proved to be a big hit and already raked 100 million on its second week.
"Kasal" tells the story of a public school teacher, Lia (Alonzo), who enters the world of politics after being engaged with Philip (Avelino), a mayoral candidate in Cebu.
Their relationship is shaken, however, when Lia's ex-boyfriend, Wado (Ramsay), who does everything he can to win her back, even if it means exposing Philip's real identity.
