Nine feature stories await moviegoers in the much-awaited Cinema One Originals 2018 along with restored Filipino classics, selected foreign films, best of C1 Originals, and exciting shorts when the festival starts on Friday (October 12).
The fresh roster of competition films are vying to reign over the festival’s 14th year with the theme “I Am Original,” with selections depicting stories of crimes and injustice from young and brilliant directors of this generation.

Aside from the film showing, three Cinema One Originals’ entries, for the first time, also have book versions - “Double Twisting Double Back,” “Hospicio,” and “Pang MMK.”
“Hospicio,” the original screenplay by Bobby Bonifacio Jr. and Juvy Galamiton, features the various stories of addiction not only of the institution’s residents but also of its officials.
John Lapus’ “Pang MMK” book is an inspiration on overcoming adversities and facing them directly with one’s strength of character.
The screenplay of “Double Twisting Double Back,” a film by Joseph Abello, is also transformed into an erotic sports thriller novel.
This year’s world cinema highlights include:
