The well-loved tandem of RitKen—Rita Daniela and Ken Chan—is celebrating Negros Occidental's Minuluan Festival this Saturday (September 7) via a Kapuso Fiesta courtesy of GMA Regional TV.
Rita and Ken, who are set to be part of the second season of The Clash as Journey Hosts, are sure to treat their Kapuso fans to an evening of fun, music, and kilig in Talisay City Public Plaza, Talisay City beginning at 9 p.m.
Hosting the Kapuso Fiesta is Kapuso comedian Boobay of "The Boobay and Tekla Show".
GMA Network's original musical competition, The Clash, is set to return on television this September 21, opening up the second season with a bang as it introduces a new set of hosts.
Asia's Pop Diva Julie Anne San Jose and Total Heartthrob Rayver Cruz amplify the fun onstage as The Clash Masters, while Rita and Ken give viewers an all-access pass throughout the contestants' journey as The Clash Journey Hosts.
Rita looks forward to meeting the new batch of Clashers, "Ken and I have a fun job as Journey Hosts because we get to talk to the contestants and let viewers in on some behind-the-scene exclusives. I'm very excited."
Meanwhile, Ken is ready to give viewers an inside look into the lives of the Clashers, "Aside from their talent, I'm sure that this new pool of contestants from all around the country and the world have inspiring stories to share with all our Kapuso viewers."
Returning as The Clash judges are Asia's Nightingale Lani Misalucha, Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, and Comedy Concert Queen Ai Ai delas Alas.
The RitKen love team is also set to banner their first-ever primetime project, 'One of the Baes', a millennial fairytale that will take viewers on a voyage of love. Produced by GMA Public Affairs, it will showcase the ups and downs of our Filipino Seafarers through the story of Jowalyn (Rita) and Grant (Ken). Grant is a rich yet kindhearted environmental vlogger while Jowalyn is a brave young woman who dreams of someday becoming the captain of a ship.
"We join our Kapusong Talisaynon in celebrating this year's Minuluan Festival by bringing no less than the well-loved tandem of RitKen who are set to banner their first-ever primetime series via One of the Baes and who are also joining the second season of The Clash as Journey Hosts," says GMA Regional TV Vice President and Head Oliver Amoroso. "As we pay homage to Talisay's patron saint, San Nicholas de Tolentino, we also take pride in being part of our Kapusong Talisaynons' devotion to their local culture and arts. We hope that they have fun in the Kapuso Fiesta that we prepared for them," he ends.
