"Vince & Kath & James," Star Cinema's entry to the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), has earned more than P100 million as of January 3.
Starring Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, and Ronnie Alonte, the romantic comedy was the top-grossing entry in provincial theaters since the filmfest began last Christmas day, according to the MMFF executive committee. It is also the third-highest earner based on Metro Manila ticket sales.
"Vince & Kath & James" centers on the three title characters and how their love triangle develops and tangles through text messaging and social media. It has received fairly positive reviews from local critics, with some comparing Garcia, who plays a shy, geeky, college student named Vince who harbors a crush on Kath, to veteran actor John Lloyd Cruz.
Under the direction of Theodore Boborl, "Vince & Kath & James," is still showing in theaters nationwide.
