'Can't Help Falling in Love' Earns P200 Million Despite Stiff Competition from FF8 and Guardians of the Galaxy

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla latest romantic comedy movie entitled "Can't Help Falling in Love" reached the P200-million mark 2 weeks after it was shown in theaters nationwide.

This, despite facing stiff competition from Hollywood offerings such as "The Fast of the Furious 8" and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". 

"Can't Help Falling in Love" is KathNiel's follow-up to the Olivia Lamasan-directed drama "Barcelona: A Love Untold," which raked in a total box-office haul of P321 million.

Derrick Monasterio and Bea Binene's Kapuso Series "Hanggang Makita Kang Muli" to Air in Latin America

GMA drama series "Hanggang Makita Kang Muli" featuring Derrick Monasterio and Bea Binene's tandem recently premiered in Peru making it the first Kapuso drama to air in Latin America. Acquired by PanAmericana Television SA, the GMA Afternoon Prime series went well on its pilot week with ratings almost twice of the program it replaced.

Meanwhile, GMA Worldwide Inc. (GWI) Vice President Roxanne J. Barcelona is glad to learn about Peru’s warm reception of the program. “We are proud and happy that the canned version of Hanggang Makita Kang Muli is enjoying a successful run on free TV in Peru. This is a first for GMA in Latin America,” she said.

“A seed has been planted in that part of the world and we hope that it grows and opens more doors for GMA's content. It proves that our stories can travel well across all cultures.  ‎A special thank you to Jose Escalante of Latin Media Corp., who helped us make this happen,” Barcelona acknowledged.

Hanggang Makita Kang Muli, which launched in the Philippines in March 2016, is being aired with the title Cautiva or ‘Captive’ in English. Under the direction of Laurice Guillen, the series features Kapuso artist Bea Binene portraying the challenging role of a feral child who grew up in a dark room isolated from human contact.
