Viewers of ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel will find more reasons to stay tuned to the channel with the launch of the “ANC-X” lifestyle block, featuring local and international shows that will satisfy their love for food, travel, fashion, and the arts.
Starting Sunday (June 17), late nights on ANC will light up with world-class lifestyle programs led by “State of the Art,” a first of its kind art show hosted by actress Iza Calzado that will debut on the country’s premier all-English cable news channel at 11 pm. Iza will share the stories of our local artists as we experience a golden age in Philippine Art and Design in this visually seductive but relatable program.
On Monday (June 18), the “Concert King” of the Philippines Martin Nievera will make his late night TV comeback with a new show called “LSS: The Martin Nievera Show” at 10:30 pm. We see another side of Martin as he combines the serious and the light and the witty and the funny with the movers and shakers in society.
Other new programs debuting next week on the “ANC-X” block are international hits “The Art Show” airing on Tuesday (June 19) at 10:30 pm and “The Wine Show,” hosted by Matthew Goode and James Purefoy, taking the Friday, 10:30 pm slot starting June 22.
The launch of the “ANC-X” block marks the latest and biggest collaboration between ABS-CBN’s news and lifestyle ecosystems with the goal of providing ANC viewers with the right mix of news, business, and lifestyle content that they can watch on television or on their gadgets as they go about their professional and personal routines.
“While we specialize in serious undertaking like general news, government, business, our wall to wall political coverage, we also know that our audience also wants a break from all the serious stuff,” said ABS-CBN Integrated News and Current Affairs head and ANC managing director Ging Reyes during the launch of the block during an ANC-X on-ground event last May.
ABS-CBN Lifestyle Ecosystem head Paolo Pineda also revealed that they will also be launching the “ANC-X” website soon, to further bring ANC’s lifestyle content closer and more accessible to the country’s business and political leaders, who make up most of ANC’s viewership.
“This will be the lifestyle and travel arm of the current ANC website. There will be published content related to international travel, dining here and abroad, wines, watches, cars, and socially relevant content that will interest the modern, successful man,” he shared.
The “ANC-X” ON AIR block starts at 10:30 pm on weekdays and 10 pm on weekends. Also included in the line-up are original ANC productions “Executive Class” with David Celdran, travel and adventure show “Asian Air Safari” with Capt. Joy Roa, and urban lifestyle program “Green Living” and motoring show “Rev” both hosted by Paolo Abrera. Locally-produced fares such as the travelogue-cum-cooking show “Show Me the Market” with Chef JP Anglo and food expert Joel Binamira and magazine program “Beached” with Maggie Wilson and Marc Nelson will also debut on “ANC-X” on ANC soon.
