TFC Releases “Isa Pa, With Feelings” in Cinemas Worldwide
But it is harder for the members of the deaf community all over the world, who despite different advancements in technology and efforts from different country's government, still faces several challenges, according to Robyn Correll's article "Challenges That Still Exist for the Deaf Community" published on Very Well Health last June 30, 2019. According to the article, among the challenges that still exist for the deaf community is "social isolation", where they find it hard to communicate with others, even to their families, since not everyone knows how to use sign language. This leads some of them to choose to isolate themselves from others.
This struggle by the deaf community is part of what could be seen in the film "Isa Pa, with Feelings", which stars Carlo Aquino and Maine Mendoza, under the direction of Prime Cruz.
"Isa Pa, with Feelings" centers in the story of Gali (Carlo), a deaf sign language teacher who has a suppressed passion in dancing, meeting Mara (Maine) who is disheartened after failing the architecture licensing exam. They find solace in each other as they both long for someone to hear their hearts' deepest desires, which unknowingly might also cause them to drift apart.
Both Carlo and Maine admitted that it was a challenge portraying their roles in the movie. For Maine's part, it was hard for her to memorize her lines and at the same time deliver it with the same level of emotion through sign language. On the other hand, the challenge for Carlo is making the viewers feel his emotions despite delivering his lines through sign language.
The film's stars were able to surpass these hurdles not only through the help of their director but also through the guidance of the deaf consultants present on their set. Their portrayal was that sincere that director Prime even caught some of the deaf consultants being emotional on some of the scenes.
Will the voices of Gali and Mara's hearts prevail, or will the noise of the world drown their hearts' call?
"Isa Pa, with Feelings" is a movie written by Jen Chuaunsu and Kookai Labayen, produced by ABS-CBN Film's Black Sheep and APT Entertainment.
Catch "Isa Pa, with Feelings" as it screens on these dates on the following regions: October 22 in Japan; October 24 in Papua New Guinea; October 25 in the U.S., Canada, and Saipan; October 26 in the United Kingdom and Dublin, Ireland; October 27 in Milan, Rome, Florence, Bologna, and Torino in Italy, Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, and in Athens, Greece; October 28 in Cosenza, Italy; October 31 in the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand; November 3 in Oslo, Norway, and Paris, France; November 7 in Brunei; and on November 10 in Parma, Italy.

Black Eyed Peas to Perform “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)” at SEA Games Closing Ceremony in PH on December 11
The six-time GRAMMY® Award-winning, genre-bending pioneers x history-making reggaeton superstar J Balvin - who remains one of the hottest acts in the globe today and possibly the biggest Latin star of the millennium - share a new collaborative single entitled "RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)" today. This marks the group's first release under their newly minted deal with Epic Records. Uniting these two titans, this is undoubtedly the biggest song of 2019, to say the least.
Watch the song's music video at https://youtu.be/EzKkl64rRbM.
The song heralds the arrival of the anxiously awaited Bad Boys For Life Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Album. It lands in stores and at all digital retailers on January 10. Meanwhile, the mega-anticipated Bad Boys For Life - starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence - opens in Philippine theaters on January 2020. It stands out as the third installment of the classic Bad Boys franchise, one of the most successful action series of all-time.
"RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)" similarly captures the high-octane action the franchise remains known for. Breaking boundaries, it fuses Black Eyed Peas' inimitable hybrid of hip-hop and pop with Balvin's incendiary and infectious take on reggaeton. Fittingly, the word "Ritmo" translates to "Rhythm" in English. The song impacts Top 40, Latin, and Rhythm Crossover on Monday November 4. Meanwhile, Colin Tilley [Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna] helmed the accompanying music video intercut with explosive sequences from the movie.
After two decades signed to Jimmy Iovine's Interscope Records, Black Eyed Peas find a home with Sylvia Rhone at Epic Records. They join an iconic roster and align with the culture's most trusted label.
Black Eyed Peas co-founder will.i.am said, "I wanted to reimagine 'The Rhythm of the Night' by Corona and give it a minimal, futurist, afro-fused reggaeton vibe. The final song and video feel like the classic next level futurism that the Black Eyed Peas are all about."
Last week, Black Eyed Peas jetted to Brazil to co-Headline RockInRio. Meanwhile, they appeared on Luciano Hucks' show the day after. Next up, they fly to Australia & New Zealand for the next leg of their tour, and then wrap up on stage at closing ceremony of the SEA Games in the Philippines on December 11 for a performance of "RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)."
Coco Martin and “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” Cast Delight Bicolanos at Penafrancia Festival

Coco Martin and Yassi Pressman sent a shockwave of kilig to Bicolanos who trooped to SM City Naga's open parking area as they entertained them with romantic song and dance numbers.
Laughter also erupted at the venue as "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" stars Basilyo, Smugglaz, PJ Endrinal, and Empoy made sure that Bicolanos had the time of their lives with their favorite Kapamilya stars.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN Regional through its Bicol station, also expressed solidarity with the festival when it aired a three-hour comprehensive coverage of the Penafrancia festival titled, "Misyon na may Puson Joven Kaiba ni Maria." It featured the Fluvial Procession of the images of Our Lady of Penafrancia and El Divino Rostro (the Holy Face of Jesus) to the Basilica Minore.
There was also a livestream of the momentous events via the Choose Philippines website so devotees who were unable to attend the religious tradition did not miss anything.
The Kapamilya Karavan is heading next to Bacolod City on October 19 for the Masskara Festival, where it will bring the cast of "Sandugo," including Aljur Abrenica, Ejay Falcon, Elisse Joson, and Jessy Mendiola, and the stars of "The Killer Bride" led by Janella Salvador and Joshua Garcia with Geoff Eigenmann and the 1st Asian Contents Awards Best Actress, Maja Salvador. “Watchmen” Premieres on HBO and HBO GO on SKY
"Watchmen," Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' 1980s graphic novel gets reimagined in HBO's new series that's set to premiere on October 21.
Veteran actors Don Johnson, Regina King, and Jeremy Irons are set to lead the newest HBO series, with Nicole Kassell directing the pilot from a script written by the Emmy-winning producer of "The Leftovers," Damon Lindelof.
"Watchmen" is more an extension of the popular graphic novel than an adaptation and is set in an alternate world of 2019 where masked vigilantes roam the streets. In this 9-episode show, Angela Abar (Regina King) is a detective who becomes a vigilante named Sister Night.
According to Lindelof in his interview at this year's New York Comic Con, "I had such reverence for the original material and just doing that again wasn't necessarily what I wanted to see as a fan," he said. "It was very much of its time, yes it's an alternate history [of the 1980s] but I still felt a lot of things were are represented in the graphic novel. So I asked myself, 'What happened afterwards?," he added.
"Watchmen" premieres on Monday 21 October 9 AM (10 AM from 4 November) on HBO GO and HBO with a replay on HBO on the same day at 10 PM while new episodes premiere every Monday.
Don't miss this exciting show and subscribe now to HBO GO only on SKY for as low as P150/month.

#UAAPSeason82 Goes “All for More” on Digital
Dunks. Clutch baskets. Explosions. Name it and you've seen it in UAAP Season 82.
The UAAP, which fans follow on S+A, LIGA, sports.abs-cbn.com, and iWant, delivers action, captivates Filipinos, and generates international buzz.
While the UAAP has always been trending on social media, this season is shaping up to be special in terms of online engagement across all ABS-CBN Sports social media platforms.
On the ABS-CBN Sports Facebook page (1.3M followers), UAAP-related posts from August 26 to September 16 generated a total of 168 million impressions and 1.5 million interactions. Engagement was especially high on September 4 during the UP-FEU game. In this game, UP Fighting Maroon Ricci Rivero announced his return to the UAAP with a ridiculous alley-oop dunk that went viral, bringing in 7.8 million views and almost 400,000 interactions to the page.
Rivero's highlight did not just end up on the Facebook timelines and news feeds of Filipino basketball fans, as global sports media outlets like Bleacher Report, Yahoo Sports, and Ballislife shared ABS-CBN Sports' video of the dunk for the whole world to see.
Other UAAP first round highlights featuring UP's Kobe Paras, UST's Rhenz Abando, and DLSU's Jamie Malonzo also generated millions of views and thousands of comments on Facebook with fans praising the athleticism of players and the intensity of action early in the season.
"UAAP fans enjoy watching highlights for two reasons," veteran sports anchor Mico Halili, who also serves as ABS-CBN Sports' digital head, says. "They watched the game and want to relive and share the exciting moment with friends, or they missed the game and want to catch up on what everyone on social is talking about. We're here to give UAAP fans what they want on digital."
It's the same story on ABS-CBN Sports Twitter (1.3M followers) where fans get real-time updates and highlights of the games. Twitter engagement shot up to never before seen levels for UAAP-related posts. Within August 28 to September 24 this year, there have been 77.4 million impressions and 1.93 million profile visits recorded on the platform.
ABS-CBN Sports Instagram account also experienced a surge with its followers and engagement growing at a faster pace. Users are drawn to click and watch highlight videos on the account with poster-like thumbnails featuring UAAP stars. UAAP athletes themselves like and share the content on the platform, which now has 170k followers.
While most of the credit rightfully goes to awesome play of all eight teams in the UAAP, the enhanced quality of the content created by the ABS-CBN Sports Digital team also helps fuel social media engagement.
Beyond the highlights, the digital team also serves fans with original content that makes the UAAP experience even more engaging online. Leading to the opening of UAAP Season 82, the ABS-CBN Sports Digital team launched several originals to put fans in UAAP mode: "MIXTAPE" featured memorable moments from UAAP Season 81 and "#KillerCrossover" allowed UAAP stars to share their passions outside of basketball.
During the first round of UAAP Season 82, fans on ABS-CBN Sports social media platforms watched and shared digital features on breakout games by Rey Suerte of UE, Val Chauca of Adamson, and Dave Ildefonso of NU and thrilling games like the Ateneo-UST first round showdown.
Halili reveals that there is both art and science behind the UAAP engagement generated by ABS-CBN Sports on social media.
"The main ingredient is capturing fun, dramatic and exciting moments from the games," he shared. "Guided by our love for sports, the data provided by our analytics team, and our mission to serve the fan, we choose what storylines to focus on and decide how to share these stories in the best way. When we select highlights or write captions, the key for ABS-CBN Sports is to know what UAAP fans want."
ABS-CBN Sports is the sports arm of the country's leading media and entertainment organization, which is rapidly transitioning into an agile digital company with the biggest online presence among local media networks and a growing list of digital platforms.
Meanwhile, UAAP Season 82 men's basketball enters the second round on October 5. Fans can watch the games live on ABS-CBN S+A on free TV, on LIGA on cable, and online via iWant or sports.abs-cbn.com. Enjoy more of the UAAP experience by following @ABSCBNSports on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, or by visiting sports.abs-cbn.com.
