Gretchen Barretto Returns to MMK this Saturday, April 10

Muling magbabalik sa telebisyon ang 2009 Star Awards Best Actress na si Gretchen Barretto sa longest running drama anthology sa Philippine TV, ang Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK).

Ayon kay Gretchen, binigyan siya ng MMK ng pagkakataon na muling maipamalas ang kanyang galing bilang aktres. "Hanggang ngayon, I am very thankful to MMK as the show gave me an opportunity to show what I got," pahayag ni La Greta.

Ngayong Sabado, bibigyang buhay ni Gretchen ang isa na namang kontrobersyal na karakter-- si Maria, isang byuda na umibig sa isang bagong-lipat na parochial priest na gagampanan ni Jomari Yllana. Ang kanilang kakaibang pag-iibigan ay hahantong sa masalimuot na pagsasama. ‘Di man sang-ayon ang mga tao sa kanilang relasyon, ipaglalaban pa rin ni Maria ang kanyang pagmamahal sa asawa at sa kanyang mga anak. Dumanas si Maria ng matinding panghuhusga ng kanilang komunidad.

Makayanan kaya ni Maria ang matinding pangungutya ng mga tao? Sapat na kaya ang pag-ibig upang malagpasan niya ang lahat ng pagsubok?

Blockbuster drama princess Bea Alonzo covers the latest issue of Rogue Magazine.

Bea is dubbed by Rogue magazine as the "Silverscreen Sweetheart" because of her mesmerizing performances in the last two films of her career: "And I Love You So" last year with Sam Milby and "Miss You Like Crazy" this year with John Lloyd Cruz which earned a whopping P140 million so far. 'Twelve' Starring Chace Crawford - Trailer

PO5 (Party On 5) Premieres on April 11 at TV5

One of the new TV5 shows na ini-announce sa trade launch ng TV5 ang Sunday game-musical-variety show na PO5 o Party On 5 na pantapat sa ASAP XV at Party Pilipinas. Hosts nito sina Ryan Agoncillo, Lucy Torres, JC de Vera, Alex Gonzaga at John Estrada. Kasama rin sina Rainier Castillo, Jan Nieto at ilang galing sa Philippine Idol.

This means there's going to be three Sunday noontime musical variety shows, namely, Kapamilya's "ASAP XV," Kapuso's "Party Pilipinas", and Kapatid's PO5.

Puwedeng Premyo On 5 ang ibig sabihin ng PO5 dahil sa big cash prizes na ipamimigay at pinaghalong Eat Bulaga at Wowowee ang concept nito. Pare-parehong may Party ang title ng Sunday shows ng three networks, Party On 5, Party Pilipinas at All-star Sunday Afternoon Party o ASAP.

Idea ni Noel Ferrer ang title na PO5 at Paparazzi, ang showbiz talk show ng TV5 hosted by Cristy Fermin, Mo Twister, Dolly Ann Carvajal at Ruffa Gutierrez. Kasama rin si Shalala bilang voice-over announcer at taga-GMA 7 din siya.

South Border's Jay Durias will be the musical director of P.O.5 which will premiere on April 11, Sunday.

Melason Faces Tougher Challenges in "Melason in Da City"

Paano nga ba haharapin ng dalawang laking probinsya ang mabilis at magulong buhay sa siyudad, lalo na ngayong sikat na sila? Mabibigyang katuparan pa kaya nila ang mga pangarap para sa kanya-kanyang pamilya lalo pa't over-over na ang pagka-busy nila? Iyan ang malalaman ng bayan sa "Melason in Da City," ang bagong realiserye nina Melisa Cantiveros at Jason Francisco na magpapatawa at magpapakilig sa buong pamilya.

Starting today, April 5 at 10 a.m., muling masusundan ng bayan ang buhay ng magkasintahang Melai at Jason o "Melason" mula Lunes hanggang Biyernes habang sabay nilang inaabot ang kanilang mga pangarap kasabay ng pag-aadjust sa buhay Maynila. Si Melai kailangan ng pampagamot sa amang may sakit, samantalang gusto naman ni Jason ipagpatayo ng bahay ang pamilya.

After Her Break-up with PBA Cager Dondon Hontiveros, Valerie Concepcion is Now Romantically Linked to Tom Rodriguez of PBB

Iniintriga ngayon si Wowowee host-actress Valerie Concepcion na break na ito sa boyfriend niyang PBA cager na si Dondon Hontiveros. Dahil dito, she is now being linked to PBB Double Up ex-housemate at singing heartthrob na si Tom Rodriguez.

But according to Valerie, " Hindi naman kami nagkahiwalay ni Dondon dahil hindi naman talaga kami. Lie low kami ngayon sa paglabas-labas dahil busy ako sa trabaho. May Wowowee ako, may campaign projects at ngayon nga may daily drama series pa ako."

Sa mga intriga namang pinagseselosan ni Dondon ang leading man niyang si Tom, " Hindi namin ‘yun napag-uusapan. In fact, Dondon is more of happy for me with this new project."

In a way, another chance at acting para kay Val ang bago niyang TV project. " For the longest time, I've been waiting for a drama show like this. Ever since lumipat kasi ako ng ABS-CBN, naging busy na ako with hosting Wowowee. Kaya happy ako ngayon na balik-drama ako. It’s something na matagal ko nang hinihintay."

And speaking of second chances, "love story of second chances" ang tema ng pinakabagong offering ng Precious Heart Romances (PHR) na magsisimula na today, April 5.

Tampok sa PHR presents "Love Me Again"” si Valerie kasama ang mga PBB Double Up ex-housemates na sina Tom Rodriguez, Cathy Remperas at Johan Santos. Ikalawang paglabas na ito ni Valerie sa PHR matapos ang “PHR presents Bud Brothers.” First daily drama series naman ito ng mga dating housemates ni Kuya.

Hango sa pocketbook na sinulat ni Heart Yngrid, ang Love Me Again ay kwento ng magkapatid na sina Precy (Valerie) at Donnie (Johan) na masusubok ang samahan dahil sa kani-kanilang pag-ibig.

Sa kwento, magiging heartbroken si Donnie dahil makikipag-break sa kanya ang girlfriend niyang si Pauline (Cathy) na in-love naman kay Chad (Tom) na dating manliligaw ni Precy (Valerie). Bilang protective na ate, igaganti ni Precy ang kapatid at pilit na aagawin kay Pauline ang boyfriend nito.

Magtagumpay kaya si Precy sa planong agawin ang boyfriend ng babaeng nanakit sa kapatid? Magka-second chance pa kaya ang love story nila ni Chad? Ano pa kaya ang kayang gawin ni Precy alang-alang sa kaligayahan ni Donnie?

Kasama rin sina Archie Alemania at iba pang PBB Double Up ex-housemates na sina JM Lagumbay, Kenny Santos at Toffi Santos, ang Love Me Again ay sa ilalim ng direksyon nina Ruel S. Bayani na direktor ng "Tayong Dalawa" at 2nd unit director Jojo Saguin na 2nd unit director naman ng "May Bukas Pa."

"You To Me are Everything" - Movie Poster and Publicity Photos

Check out the movie poster of the much awaited comeback film of real life sweethearts Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera titled, "You To Me Are Everything".

Synopsis: Dingdong's character is a city boy who comes from an affluent family. His father's conviction, however, resulted in his loss of assets, status, and even his home.

Marian plays a provincial girl who suddenly found herself with more money than she could imagine. She inherits the bulk of her wealthy father's assets, including the foreclosed mansion of Dingdong's family.

To do honor to her father's legacy, Marian needed to gain some understanding of the assets she inherited. The only business experience she has is her stall in the marketplace. Dingdong is then tapped to train her in managing a business. The two struck a deal and what follows are a series of comedic situations wherein Dingdong tries to exorcise Marian's provincialism. Somewhere along the way though, they fell in love.

Can two people from different worlds make it work?

This Regal Entertainment and GMA Films co-production is open in theaters nationwide on May 5, 2010.

DJ Adam Carolla - Manny Pacquiao Racist Attack

U.S. radio DJ Adam Carolla is now under fire for bashing Manny Pacquiao and the Filipinos in his radio program.

Adam Carolla speaks to a caller about the Pacquiao/Mayweather, how the Filipinos are pinning so much on Pacquiao that it seems like there's nothing else going on in the Philippines, Jim Lampley's PPV meltdown, and the sex stores in the Philippines.

Rachelle Ann Go to Join GMA-7's Party Pilipinas Starting April 11

After Mark Bautista, another Viva talent is reportedly joining GMA-7's new musical-variety show Party Pilipinas.

It seems like GMA-7's Party Pilipinas is banking on talents produced and honed by ABS-CBN's ASAP. And the business relationship between GMA Network and Viva Entertainment is getting stronger.

Tuloy na tuloy na nga ang pag-o-ober da bakod ng singer na si Rachelle Ann Go sa Party Pilipinas. According to a source, na very much associated sa Viva Entertainment, Rachelle will become a mainstay of Party Pilipinas after her contract with ASAP XV expires on April 4.

The source also said na ABS-CBN executives allegedly agreed to let go of Mark basta mag-stay lang si Rachelle sa ASAP pero isang napaka-generous na offer ng GMA-7 ang naging way to closed the deal between Rachelle and GMA.

Replay ang ASAP XV yesterday, kaya ang last performance ni Rachelle sa show ay last March 28 and she will be joining Party Pilipinas on April 11 which incidentally trade launch din ng GMA-7 at iti-tape ang Party Pilipinas sa SMX Convention Center.

Rachelle actually began her TV career on GMA-7. She was the grand winner in the Search For A Star (2004), a singing contest co-produced by GMA-7 and Viva Entertainment hosted by Regine Velasquez. She had a brief stint in the defunct SOP before moving to ASAP, along with fellow Viva artists Sarah Geronimo, Anne Curtis, and Mark Bautista.

But what is this we are hearing? Iya Villania, who is another ASAP XV talent at dating Kapuso ang lilipat din daw sa Party Pilipinas kasabay sa launching ni Rachelle. Iya actually started her career on GMA-7. She was part of the youth-oriented show Click.

Now who says, malapit ng mag-ending ang network war?

TV5 Introduces Firebrand Journalism in NEWS5

TV5, the Kapatid network, introduces the biggest component of its programming expansion as it launches News5, the network’s News and Public Affairs programming block composed of nine programs aimed at bringing news reporting to a whole new level with its mark of militancy for change and action starting this month.

Headed by veteran broadcast journalist Luchi Cruz-Valdes, News5 is focused to be at the forefront of news delivery, as well as in practicing "firebrand journalism" marked by its aggressive style, zeal, and depth of investigative news reporting. News5 promises to initiate problem-solving actions on the issues and matters at hand–keeping true to its slogan "Higit sa Balita, Aksyon!"

Led by public affairs programs "Tutok Tulfo" with host Erwin Tulfo and "Under Special Investigation (USI)" anchored by Paolo Bediones which premiered last March, News 5 goes full-blast next week as five more programs air every evening starting with regular news program "Aksyon" anchored by Paolo Bediones and Cheryl Cosim, followed by weekly news and public affairs programs "Totoo TV" with Ariel and Maverick, "Timbangan" moderated by Winnie Monsod, "Dokumentado" with Luchi Cruz-Valdes, "Ako Mismo" hosted by Chris Tiu, and "Lupet!" hosted by Lourd De Veyra. Aksyon Weekend, which airs on Saturday and Sunday, will be anchored by Cheri Mercado and Jove Francisco. It will also have its daily morning program, Sapul which will be hosted by Lourde de Veyra, Martin Andanar, Erwin Tulfo and Shawn Yao.

Aksyon starts airing on Monday at 9:00PM, followed by weekly programs airing at 9:30PM — Totoo TV every Monday, Timbangan every Tuesday, Dokumentado on Wednesdays, Ako Mismo on Thursdays, and Lupet! every Friday, starting April 5 on TV5. Aksyon Weekend airs Saturdays and Sundays at 6:30 PM. USI hosted by Paolo Bediones airs every Sunday at 8:30PM.

"Sobrang simple. I’m not into really pretty girls because i’m so insecure! Ha Ha! I get attracted to someone with a broad mind. Not necessarily smart, but someone who knows about the world."

On his courting strategy:

"Ligaw-mata. I’m super shy. If I like a girl, I’d never approach. I would just show her with my eyes. She’ll know I’m interested. I don’t know how to make ligaw. I do it by instinct. If I feel that the girl is interested too and we get to sit beside each other, I’ll just grab her hand. Lucky for me, I haven’t been embarrassed yet."

On summer flings:

"Actually masaya ‘yun. There’s nothing wrong with it. If you ask me, summer is vacation time. It’s time to let go and relax. Whatever you experience and go through, just enjoy it. It’s the time to explore and who knows what you’ll discover about yourself?"

"Of All The Things" Starring Regine Velasquez and Aga Muhlach – Music Video

Catch the music video of "Of All the Things", the reunion movie project of Regine Velasquez and Aga Muhlach under Viva Films.

Based from the sentimental love song by Dennis Lambert, the music video features the theme song as sung by Asia’s Songbird Regine. Also featured in the music video are selected scenes from the movie.

Regine Velasquez and Aga Muhlach first teamed-up in the hit romantic dramedy "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" in 1998. Regine reunited with Aga Muhlach in 2001 for "Pangako Ikaw Lang" which was a bigger hit at the box office. The said film earned Regine a Box-Office Queen award from the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation in 2002.
