World Vision Ambassadors Ogie, Regine, Christian, Biance, Inigo Come in Full Force for the “One Voice for Children” Virtual Concert

World Vision's Ambassadors and Advocates have gathered for one night to support the groundbreaking "One Voice for Children" virtual concert. 

With over 23,000 views and more than 2,500 engagements, the "One Voice for Children" fundraising concert raised a total of Php 350,000.00 donation in a span of two hours. 

The all-star concert line-up was led by World Vision Ambassadors Ogie Alcasid, Christian Bautista, IƱigo Pascual, Quest, Perkins Twins, and JJ Dolor as performers. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid also had a special participation as a surprise guest performer. Hosted by Joyce Pring, the event was filled with messages of hope from World Vision Ambassadors and Advocates such as Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Tippy Dos Santos, Bianca Umali, Marc Nelson, Enzo Pineda, Gelli Victor, and Janina Vela. 

World Vision's "One Voice for Children", is an inspirational concert that aims to support the child-focused organization's most vulnerable children and their families and communities. 

"Producing/Directing in the new normal is very challenging. Lots of trial and error and it really takes us out of our comfort zone. But knowing that this was for a great cause and that so many artists were willing to get involved made it very fulfilling. I hope this will not be the last," said World Vision Ambassador Paolo Valenciano who also directed the fundraising concert. 

The proceeds from the "One Voice for Children" Virtual Concert will go to one of World Vision's education projects that aims to assist the children during this COVID-19 pandemic through the the annual distribution of school kits. 

"Amidst the pandemic, we are able to sing and enjoy each other's company, even virtually. We are deeply grateful to all who supported this loud call to help the most vulnerable children. Let's continue praying for our nation and the whole world," said Mr. Rommel Fuerte, National Director for World Vision.

Jona, Jayda, Moira, Kyla, KZ and Other Female Asian Artists Unite for ABS-CBN Music’s “Heal” Project

Filipino pride Jayda, Jona, Kyla, KZ Tandingan, Lesha, Moira Dela Torre, and Xela are collaborating with some of the most popular talents and emerging artists in Southeast Asia's music scene—Indonesian singers Rinni Wulandari and Yura Yunita, Malaysian artists DOLLA and Shalma Eliana, Singaporean talents Haneri and Haven, and Thai artist Valentina Ploy to deliver a message of hope in their upcoming single "HEAL." 

These Southeast Asian artists lend their therapeutic voices for the inspirational song produced by ABS-CBN Music International which will drop on digital streaming platforms on September 11 (Friday). 

The "Heal" project, a first in the region, seeks to convey love and spur unity for everyone's healing during these trying times. It was composed by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo, Moophs, and Alex Godinez aka Xela. Jonathan also served as its over-all producer. 

The collaboration is also a #StreamToDonate project, with all of the participating artists donating their share of fees and royalties to ABS-CBN's "Pantawid ng Pag-ibig," a fund-raising campaign which aims to provide relief to Filipinos who have lost their sources of livelihood due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The "HEAL" single is just one of ABS-CBN Music International's endeavors, which seeks to introduce the unique artistry of Filipinos to global audiences and more recently, bring in international talents and music to the Philippines.

Zack Snyder’s Zombie Action ‘Army of the Dead’ Gets a Film Prequel and Anime Series at Netflix

Zack Snyder's new zombie action heist film Army of the Dead is already spawning a film prequel and anime series at Netflix. Shay Hatten, one of the writers of the screenplay for Army of the Dead, will write the prequel as well as the anime series.

Quote from Zack Snyder: "I'm incredibly excited for the opportunity to partner with Netflix again as we expand the Army of the Dead universe with both an international prequel, as well as exploring the visually dynamic world of animation. It's been a great collaboration and we are thrilled that Netflix sees this as big of an IP as we do."

The prequel will be directed by and star Grimme Award winner Matthias Schweighöfer and will follow his Army of the Dead character "Ludwig Dieter". The movie will be produced out of Germany. The film will be produced by Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder and Wesley Coller of The Stone Quarry and Matthias Schweighöfer and Dan Maag of PANTALEON Films.

"It has already been a great pleasure to be part of this wonderful ensemble around Zack Synder - a fascinating project. I am happy that it is now being developed on so many different levels", says Matthias Schweighöfer.

The anime series, Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, chronicles the origin story of Scott (Dave Bautista) and his rescue crew during the initial fall of Vegas as they confront the mysterious source of the zombie outbreak. Zack Snyder will direct 2 episodes of the anime series. Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and upcoming Netflix Original Anime Series Trese) will be showrunning as well as directing 2 episodes of the series. The series will be Executive Produced by Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Wesley Coller from The Stone Quarry alongside Jay Olivia and Shay Hatten. Bautista, Ana de la Reguera, Tig Notaro, Omari Hardwick and Ella Purnell will reprise their roles in the anime series.

Snyder's Army of the Dead features an all-star international cast including Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Huma Qureshi, Omari Hardwick, Tig Notaro, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Matthias Schweighöfer, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, Samantha Win and is produced by The Stone Quarry's Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder and Wesley Coller. The film will be released on Netflix in 2021 and follows a group of mercenaries into a zombie infested Las Vegas, Nevada who try to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.

Wish Ko Lang! Celebrates Women’s Strength and Winning Moments in Life this September

Wish Ko Lang!, GMA Network's award-winning public service program, celebrates women's strength and winning moments in life this September with a series of four fresh episodes bannered by some of the country's top-notch actresses: Glydel Mercado, Rochelle Pangilinan, Arra San Agustin, Thea Tolentino, and Jean Garcia.

On September 5, Glydel Mercado brings to life the story of a mother who will do everything to save her children from a flash flood that threatens their lives. Joining Glydel in this episode entitled "Nalunod" are award-winning actors Allen Dizon and Therese Malvar.

The following week (September 12), Rochelle Pangilinan headlines the "Inararo" episode, a story about a couple who lost their jobs amid the pandemic and became fruit vendors to earn a living. Jason Abalos plays Rochelle's husband in the story. Also in the episode are Shayne Sava, Lexi Gonzales, and Irma Adlawan.

Arra San Agustin, Thea Tolentino, and Juancho Triviño are siblings whose relationship will be tested because of Herlene Budol's character in the September 19 episode entitled "Nasunog". In the story, Almira Muhlach plays the mother of Arra, Thea, and Juancho.

Rounding off the fresh stories this month is the "Inilibing" episode bannered by no less than Jean Garcia. Airing on September 26, Inilibing also features Vaness del Moral and Adrian Alandy. In the story, Lorna (Jean) thought that Efren (Adrian) was the perfect guy only to find out otherwise. It turns out that on top of being an abusive partner, Efren has another woman (Vaness). Lorna will do everything to fight for her life and for her child.

Wish Ko Lang! continues to win the hearts of viewers and netizens as well. For the past few months, the program has been airing fresh episodes amid the pandemic. Host Vicky Morales is grateful for the positive feedback the show has been getting.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla Lead ABS-CBN’s Tribute Video for Filipinos Who Continue to Fight, Serve Amidst the Tragedies

ABS-CBN launches a tribute video for Filipinos who continue to fight, serve the nation, and care for others despite the challenges faced by the country.

Dubbed "Tinig ng Mga Nawalan," the video, which was released after "TV Patrol" on August 31 coinciding the celebration of National Heroes Day, features the voices of young superstars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, together with other Kapamilyas from within and outside the network. Among the video's creators and singers, including its director, are ABS-CBN workers affected by the retrenchment after the House of Representatives denied ABS-CBN's franchise renewal.

The tribute bears a message of hope for Filipinos facing tragedies like losing loved ones in the fight against COVID-19, as well as the loss of jobs during this pandemic.

Also appearing in the video are artists Coco Martin, Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, Enrique Gil, Liza Soberano, Bea Alonzo, Karla Estrada, Jolina Magdangal, Melai Cantiveros, Jericho Rosales, Beauty Gonzales, Bianca Gonzales, Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, Jake Cuenca, Kylie Versoza, Edward Barbers, and Alex Gonzaga, and journalists Bernadette Sembrano, Zen Hernandez, Alvin Elchico, Jeff Canoy, Chiara Zambrano, and Jacque Manabat, who have all used their voices to fight for the rights of their fellowmen and Kapamilya.

The launch of "Tinig ng Mga Nawalan" is part of the new ABS-CBN campaign "Lingkod ng Isa't Isa," which celebrates the grit, tenacity, and resilience of every Filipino in transcending ordeals and painful losses, while still being able to help uplift other people's lives. It aims to highlight how Filipinos become each other's heroes in dark, challenging, and uncertain times.

Every week from August 30 to September 26, YouTube fans can watch over 300 hours of binge-worthy contents including local blockbuster movies, hit shows, romance flicks, historic sports matches, inspiring documentaries and more from media partners such as ABS-CBN, GMA, TBA Studios, One Sports, One Championship and DAZN.

"Every day, Filipinos go to YouTube to learn, share their passions, or be entertained. After 30 Years, Ted Failon Part Ways with ABS-CBN

Multi-awarded broadcast journalist Ted Failon is leaving ABS-CBN after 30 years. He will make his final appearance on "TV Patrol" and "Failon Ngayon sa TeleRadyo" on August 31.

The closure of ABS-CBN's radio broadcast operations led to his decision.

ABS-CBN, in a stetement, said: "We admire Ted's talent, passion, and commitment to radio as his most effective medium in serving the Filipino people.

We thank Ted for his many years of dedication and service as a Kapamilya broadcast journalist. He will always be a Kapamilya. We wish him well on his journey."

Failon is said to be moving to, Radyo 5, the radio station of rival network TV5.

Earlier this month, "Dos Por Dos" host Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja left the Kapamilya network and moved to DZRH.

Robi Domingo Says Goodbye to ABS-CBN’s MYX

Robi Domingo has finally said his goodbye to his stint as a MYX VJ.

On Instagram, the Kapamilya host looked back on the day he won the MYX VJ search back in 2008 after his stint as a housemate of "Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus."

"Found this big cheque the other day near my closet. Whenever I see this, I remember that night in Trinoma for the Myx VJ search in 2008, and also the value of it," he said.

"I don't see 100k worth of services but a million dreams and moments I gained when I became a part of this family," he added.

In another post, Robi said that it's because of MYX that he gets to speak.
