Ex-bestfriends Ruffa Gutierrez and Aiko Melendez Will Share Reasons for Dispute on TV5's 'Face to Face'

This Wednesday, June 9, exclusively on TV5, longtime bestfriends Ruffa Gutierrez and Aiko Melendez jolt national TV as viewers witness them explode in a shocking dispute over a guy with whom they both apparently had an affair. But no need to call up Ruffa's mom, for this will of course only happen on TV5's 5-Star Specials Presents...Ruffa in the special drama-comedy episode titled "Ang Bestfriend Kong Kabit."

Inspired by TV5's popular talakserye Face to Face, 5-Star Specials Presents...Ruffa features real-life friends Ruffa Gutierrez and Aiko Melendez as they take on the quirky roles of two best friends Ingrid (Ruffa) and Sandra (Aiko) going face-to-face to argue over a cheating husband who had an affair with the other.

Complete with Face to Face host Amy Perez and the show's Trio Tagapayo, the talakserye will try to settle the two women's dispute on national TV, but proves to be downright vociferous, real, and in some ways funny.

"Dito mismo sa set ng Face to Face kami nag-taping. Sigawan at sabunutan na parang totoo! Sobrang nag-enjoy talaga kaming lahat, lalo na sina Aiko at Ruffa," shares 5-Star Specials Program Unit Manager Edlyn Tallada.

The drama anthology originally offers five episodes only per featured artist. But due to positive feedback by viewers and the high ratings that the show obtains every week, TV5 responded to the viewers' popular demand and extended the 5-Star Specials series starring Ruffa.

This will serve as the wrap-up episode of Ruffa's performance on 5-Star Specials and incidentally Aiko Melendez's comeback TV project since she left showbiz for her candidacy in the previous elections.

5-Star Specials "Ang Bestfriend Kong Kabit" is directed by Direk Joey Reyes. It also stars Jon Avila as Ruffa's cheating husband Randy, comedienne Kitkat as Melody, and Chris Christianson as Moises.

Witness the biggest catfight that will ever happen on Face to Face and find out if Ate Amy and the Trio Tagapayo will be able to resolve Ruffa and Aiko's friendship wars on the final episode of 5-Star Specials Presents...Ruffa this Wednesday (June 9) at 8:30 pm on TV5.

Malabon Councilor Edward dela Cruz, Brother of Actress Angelika dela Cruz Dies in Vehicular Accident

Nagluluksa ang pamilya ng Kapuso actress na si Angelika dela Cruz dahil sa biglaang pagkamatay ng kanyang kapatid na lalake na si Edward dela Cruz sa isang vehicular accident this morning along North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).

Reports said that the 28-year-old newly-elected Malabon 2nd District Councilor was killed instantly matapos siyang masagasaan ng isang delivery truck around 5a.m. today.

Angelika appealed for privacy through a statement she sent to the press:

"Sa mga oras na ito ay labis po ang aming kalungkutan sa biglaang pagpanaw ng aking kapatid. Hindi pa po kami makapaniwala at matanggap ang pangyayari. Nagpapasalamat po ako sa mga taong nakikiramay at gustong malaman ang buong pangyayari. Pero sana po ay maintindihan niyo po ang aking pakiusap, gayundin ng buo kong pamilya lalo na sa mga kaibigan natin sa media na kung maaari, ibigay niyo po muna sa amin ang araw na ito. Maraming salamat po."

According sa initial report, sa NLEX sa may bandang San Simon, Pampanga naganap ang aksidente. Base sa kuwento, na-flat daw ang gulong na minamanehong Nissan Urvan ni Edward kaya pumarada siya upang palitan ang gulong. Nang pabalik na siya sa loob ng kanyang sasakyan ay may isang delivery truck daw na minamaneho ni Richard Colonel ang dumaan at nahagip si Edward.

Dead on arrival na raw si Edward nang dalhin sa pinakamalapit na hospital.

Edward, whose real name is Edward Pert Egger dela Cruz, is a younger brother of Angelika dela Cruz. Ipinanganak si Edward noong December 2, 1981.

Dati syang member ng now disbanded all-male singing group na Freshmen na nakilala noong early 2000.

Na-elect syang Councilor ng 2nd-district ng Malabon last May 10, 2010 elections.

Ipinakikilala ng ABS-CBN ang pinakabagong tambalang susubaybayan ng bawat manonood – ang Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus Big Winner na si Ejay Falcon at ang anak ng Bad Boy of Philippine Movies (Robin Padilla) na si Queenie Padilla. Simula ngayong linggo, mabibigay kilig ang dalawa sa high-rating series na "Momay".

Si Ejay ay naging bahagi ng dalawang matagumpay na weekday teleserye sa ABS-CBN, ang 'Katorse' at 'Tanging Yaman'. Sa pagpasok niya sa panibagong genre, ibubuhos niya ang husay at magdadagdag pa ng kakaibang atake sa pag-arte para sa kanyang pinakabagong proyekto. "Mas pambata kasi itong ‘Momay’. Hindi katulad ng Katorse at Tanging Yaman na seryoso talaga ang plot. Kaya iba rin po ang atake ng pagarte ko po rito," pagbabahagi ni Ejay.

Matapos maitambal kay Erich Gonzales, hindi maitago ni Ejay ang kanyang pananabik sa bagong kapareha na si Queenie. "Nakakatuwa po kasama si Queenie sa set. Madali pong kausap at lapitan. Kaya po kapag may eksena kami, ‘di na po ganun kahirap mag-adjust," pagtatapat ni Ejay.

Magkahalong kaba at saya naman ang nararamdaman ni Queenie para sa kanyang pinakamalaking break sa telebisyon. "Excited po ako at kinakabahan. May konting pressure rin siyempre kasi nakakabit sa akin ang name ng dad ko. But I’m really enjoying the experience. The cast members are kind enough to give me tips on acting," paliwanag ng panganay na anak ni Robin at Liezl Sicangco.

Samantala, laking galak ni Xyriel Manabat na lead child actress ng Momay, sa napakagandang feedback na natanggap nito para sa kanilang pilot episode. "Masaya po ako at nagpapasalamat sa mga tao na nanonood po ng Momay. Baguio Metamorphosis - a group of show dancers got the highest public votes, while, Ingrid Payaket - a 22-year-old broadway/classical singer, was the judges choice as announced in the 6th and last semi-final round.

Viva Films has released the official movie poster of the much-waited drama-comedy film titled, "Hating Kapatid".

Hating Kapatid is the first movie together of the two Queens - Queen of Soap Opera Judy Ann Santos and Box-office Queen Sarah Geronimo.

The movie, which is a joint movie project of Viva Entertainment and GMA Films, also stars Luis Manzano, JC De Vera, Gina Pareño, Cherry Pie Picache, DJ Durano and Vice Ganda.

The movie is directed by Wenn V. Deramas.

Chace Crawford Arrested for Illegal Possession of Marijuana

Chace Crawford is facing a charges of $2,000 fine and might be sentenced to 6 months or up to 180 days in jail for marijuana possession.

The Gossip Girl actor was arrested for illegally possessing a 2 oz marijuana by Plano police at the parking lot of Ringo's Pub The Shops at Legacy in Plano, Texas on midnight of June 3 on board a car owned by his girl friends.

As of this writing, Chace is reportedly bailed himself out already.

Glee Episode 21 Recap – "Funk" Episode

Everyone at Glee is in a funk this week when Vocal Adrenaline vandalizes their choir room. To add insult to injury, Jesse announces he’s going back to Vocal Adrenaline with a performance of Another One Bites The Dust. Is he really allowed to just hop back and forth between schools like that? Sheesh. Was his sole reasoning for doing so just to unite Rachel with Shelby? Kind of a lot just for a trophy. Will hops on the depression train when he finalizes his divorce with Teri and goes looking for some good weed from the old Glee coach. He snaps out of it when he realizes revenge is a better option and encourages the group to get funky instead.

Finn and Puck ignore this and choose to act out their revenge in the form of slashing the tires of all of Vocal Adrenaline. I guess because that is actually a crime, only Puck and Finn get in trouble and Vocal Adrenaline get off without even a warning. Too bad guys, I was on your side. They promise to get jobs to help pay for the damage and end up working with Will’s ex wife at Sheets N Things. Watching Puck fold a towel is really amusing me. They then randomly burst into song in the middle of the store singing Loser because let’s face it, that’s what they feel like at this point. Finn starts to bond with Teri and she agrees to help him get his funk back. I hope that’s not code for an affair because that would be soooo wrong.

Quinn decides that she too would like to get funky. (I am so sick of myself and everyone in this episode constantly repeating the word Funk at this point.) Mercedes openly scoffs at the idea of Quinn even trying. No one really says anything, even when Quinn calls her out on her reverse racism. I think really the only issue is that Mercedes was hurting Quinn’s already emotional feelings and she should have apologized but whatever. Quinn gets her chance to show her funky side and puts on the most bizarre performance I think to ever grace this show. She sings A Man's World with a large group of very pregnant dancers behind her. They even have some crazy lamaze dance moves. It’s really strange and Mercedes’ face says it all. At the end of it all, Quinn apologizes to Mercedes (?) and then Mercedes invites her to move in with her. Well, that was out of nowhere. Wouldn’t it be easier to be with the father?

Will gets inspired to finally get a little revenge on Sue. I realize she deserves it after all the crap she’s done but when it comes to heartbreak, I think Will goes too far. He decides to seduce Sue and convince her she has a crush on him. He basically gives her a lapdance while showing off his ass and singing Tell Me Something Good. Who could resist that charm? Ahem. For whatever reason, it works and Sue admits she has feelings for Will after he showers her with gifts and says really gross pick up lines like "Know what Wednesday is? Hump day." Blech! Sue eagerly shows up for her date with Will and she even dressed up for the occasion. Pearls with her track suit! But Will of course stands her up and releases the rage inside her. Giving her a taste of her own medicine obviously isn’t going to work Will. Sue can’t be held down.

Joining the Douche parade unfortunately for me and Rachel, is Jesse. Jesse lures a hopeful Rachel into the parking lot who obviously just wants to be with him again. Before her smile gets any bigger while she approaches him, the rest of Vocal Adrenaline gang up on her and throw eggs at her. What the hell?? This is horrible and straight out of Never Been Kissed. As Rachel’s heart continues to break, Jesse walks up to her, looks her in the eyes and smashes and egg on her head. What the hell? What’s his problem? Didn’t he admit like..last week that he had feelings for Rachel? Is he really just doing this for a trophy? I feel so bad for her. Jesse is making it almost impossible to redeem himself in the future.

The guys in the group are furious and vow to get revenge against Vocal Adrenaline. It's so nice seeing the guys actually stand up for Rachel for once. Will stops them before they can kick Jesse’s ass and encourages them to fight back with song. Sigh. I like Puck’s idea better. They end with a funky group number proving to Vocal Adrenaline that they do indeed have a tough competition next week at Regionals.

Eugene Domingo Stars in Her Own TV Sitcom "Inday Wanda"

Best Comedy Actress Eugene Domingo will soon star in her first major solo television sitcom via TV5's "Inday Wanda."

And who is Inday Wanda?

"Si Inday Wanda po ay galing sa isang mundo. Siya ‘yung masipag, puro ang pag-iisip, gustong makatulong. Sa mundo nila, alam nilang kailangan nilang proteksiyonan ang mga tao dito sa lupa. Kaya siya si Inday Wanda, wonder. Wanda!," according to Uge.

Now that she is seen moving and doing projects in the three different networks, GMA-7, ABS-CBN and TV5 (s'ya lang ang nakakagawa nito), how does she managed to build a good working relationships with them?

"Iyon talaga ang gusto ko. Gusto ko sana sa lahat ng istasyon meron kang nakakatrabaho, meron kang nagiging kaibigan. Naniniwala ako na hindi nakamamatay ang tumatawid. Isang industriya lang naman ito, bakit hindi tayo magtulung-tulungan? Mas masaya ‘pag marami ka sa trabaho."

With the box-office success of her two movies “Kimmy Dora” and “Here Comes The Bride,” Domingo has earned a new title, Comedy Queen. So, where does this leave fellow comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas?

"Siguro ako ‘yung pinakamasipag na queen dahil kayod ako nang kayod. Sa akin, ‘yung mga title okay naman iyan, I appreciate it. Pero ang mas importante sa akin, gusto ko ‘yung trabaho ko."

Derek Ramsay Denies Gay Sex Video

Derek Ramsay has laughed off a claim that he was videotaped having sex with another man. He categorically denied the existence of his supposed gay sex video. He added that it's easy to determine that he is not the man in the video.

"I have tattoos all over my body na ako lang meron. You can tell . Angelica can tell. I’m sure she doesn’t want to see the video," Derek said.

Pinoy Singers Michelle Junia and Miguel Mendoza Nominated at 2010 World Music and Independent Film Festival

Michelle Junia, one of the original members of 14K, the teen singing group which was organized by music master Ryan Cayabyab and produced the likes of Jeffrey Hidalgo and Jolina Magdangal, is nominated in the 2010 World Music and Independent Film Festival (WMIFF) People's Choice Award for Music under the "Contemporary" classification.

Michelle, who's currently in the United States to pursue advance music courses for her Musikgarten school, wa very excited to announce this good news, "I am very glad that World Music and Independent Film Festival acknowledged my entry, 'Ocean Deep.' I am very pleased and proud of my being a Filipino,” said Michelle.

"Ocean Deep," a ballad composed by Jon Sweet and Rod Trott and popularized by durable singer Cliff Richard, was revived and recorded independently by Michelle for Aeon Records.

Another Filipino talent nominated in the same award is Miguel Mendoza for "Hanggang Tingin."

According to WMIFF website, "it is where stars come to shine and it unites artists all over the world to showcase their finest pieces of art and magic."

Vice Ganda Begins Filming the Remake of "Petrang Kabayo"

Showtime's resident judge and comedian-host Vice Ganda is currently filming his first title movie, a remake of 1980s film "Petrang Kabayo."

It was January of this year when Vice Ganda announced his first major film. Three months later, however, the comedian confirmed the delay in filming "Petrang Kabayo."

"Na-delay kasi ginawa din namin 'yong 'Hating Kapatid' ni Judy Ann (Santos) at Sarah (Geronimo). Pero eventually nag-start na nga kaya excited akong gawin, tapusin at ipalabas na para magpatawa sa mga tao," according to Vice.

"Petrang Kabayo" is a film about an ill-mannered Petra who is cursed by Silveria, the godess of horses. The curse turns Petra into a white horse. He only returns to normal if he respects and treats people well.

The remake is being directed by Wenn Deramas.

Trudis Liit is GMA-7's new kiddie-serye na papalit sa timeslot ng "Gumapang Ka sa Lusak". It was supposed to be the Pauleen Luna-Maxene Magalona sineserye titled, "Bakit Kay Tagal ng Sandali?" which will occupy that timeslot but GMA Management decided to temporarily shelf that project for unknown reason (dahil pa rin ba sa unresolved conflict between Pauleen and Maxene because of JC Tiuseco? ...tsk! tsk!).

Trudis Liit is a 1963 film based from one of the most popular graphic novels by Mars Ravelo. This movie launched the career of Star for All Season Gov. Vilma Santos and made her the very first recipient of the Best Child Performer award from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS).

Trudis Liit is set to air its pilot on June 14 under the Dramarama sa Hapon block of GMA.

Christian Bautista A Hit in Singapore; Shoots Two Movies in Malaysia and Indonesia

On his May 21 concert at DXO Club Esplanade in Singapore, which was witness by a crowd full of mix Filipino, Singaporean, Chinese, and Indonesian fans, Christian Bautista also announced that he's currently shooting a two full-length film. One for Malaysia's Astro Films and one in Nation Pictures of Indonesia.

The concert was staged in time for the launch of his Asian edition hit album "Christian Bautista: Romance Revisited Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong" as released by S2S Record label.

Christian also promoted his single "Please Be Careful With My Heart" in Singapore’s "938 Live!" radio program and Razor TV. The Mandarin version of this hit song is currently enjoying radio airplay in local Singapore Chinese radio stations YES 93.3FM, 100.3UFM, 88.3 JIAFM, LOVE 97.2FM, and CAPITAL 95.8FM.

Q Channel 11 Launches New Station ID with Tagline "Ito ang Buhay Q. Kumpleto."

"Ito ang Buhay Q. Kumpleto." This is the new tagline of Q Channel 11's new station ID, which highlights the channel's programming. According to a statement furnished by the Corporate Communications department of Q Channel 11, their programming "caters to a wider market across all genders, age groups, and classes."

" We've added more shows from new genres so we actually have something for everyone. 'Yan ang Buhay Q—kumpleto kasi lahat, may magugustuhan at mapupulot na kaalaman dito," shares Ma. Lourdes Topacio, AVP/Creative Director for Q Channel 11 Creative Services Division.

The new station ID captures the channel's vibrant programming with vignettes featuring Q Channel 11 stars Lucy Torres-Gomez, Wilma Doesnt, Christine Jacob-Sandejas, Suzi Entrata-Abrera, Zoren Legaspi, Issa Litton, Chef Sau del Rosario, Chef Rosebud Benitez, Sam Oh, Tim Yap, Mr. Fu, Sam YG, Paolo Paraiso, Archie Alemania, Jana Dominguez, Gee Canlas, Jan Manual, Alfred Marquez, Sexbomb Jolan, and German Moreno.

Cristy Fermin on Angel Locsin: "Sinungaling S'ya!"

Veteran columnist and now the host of TV's showbiz talk shows Paparazzi and Juicy, Cristy Fermin, reacted negatively to Angel Locsin statement na never syang nagkaroon ng relationship with Cogie Domingo.

Angel tweeted, "Hindi ko pa po nakita yung interview, but NOT TRUE po na naging KAMI ni cogie. Thanks guys :)". Bukod pa dito, sinabi din ng bidang aktres sa upcoming Kapamilya fantaserye na "Imortal" na naka-take daw yata ng katol si Cogie that's why he said na they indeed had a romantic past.

Dahil dito, hindi napigilang mag-react ni Cristy and tinawag pa nga nitong sinungaling ang aktres. Sabi nito, "Sinungaling siya! Tumira siya ng paminta!".

According to Cristy, who personally claimed na anak-anakan nya si Cogie, one year din daw tumagal ang relasyon nina Angel at Cogie. This revelation happened when Cristy had a one-on-one interview with Cogie on her talk show Paparazzi.
