John Estrada, Randy Santiago Tell Willie Revillame: "Diyos ang kakampi namin!"

Posted by Posted by JED on Monday, February 7, 2011 , under | comments (4)

ABS-CBN's upcoming noontime variety show "Happy Yipee Yehey" is being plagued with intrigue as its male hosts, John Estrada and Randy Santiago received disapproving remarks from longtime friend Willie Revillame.

In a "Willing Willie" episode last January 26, Willie aired his side over John and Randy's decision to accept a noontime show that has the same timeslot with his cancelled program "Wowowee." Willie, John and Randy hosted the ABS-CBN noontime show "Magandang Tanghali Bayan" from 1998 to 2005. The network subsequently reformatted the show to only headline Willie in the program "Wowowee."

"Wowowee" was then canceled on July 31 last year after Willie went on indefinite suspension over his on-air rant against Kapamilya talent Jobert Sucaldito. Willie then filed a case before a Quezon City court seeking to rescind his contract. ABS-CBN continues to challenge Willie's case with a P486-million counterclaim suit. While the case is pending, Willie produced and hosted the early evening game show "Willing Willie" for TV5.

On Sunday's episode of "The Buzz," John and Randy aired their side over the negative issues being thrown against them.

"Hindi lang naman sa kaibigan nangyayari yan, kahit sa mga magkakapatid, tunay na magkapatid. Meron talagang tampuhan. Just to put an end to this, I just like to say, wala po kaming ginawang masama.

Randy, though expressing his sentiments, maintained that his respect and love for Willie are intact. He said he did not mean to offend Willie and it was nothing personal.

"Kami ni Willie magkasami since 1983. You're talking about 28 years together. Isang kuwarto ang tinutulugan namin when we were doing Cicada (Band). In other words sabi ko nga, eh tampuhan lang ng magkakapatid. Right after nakita natin ‘yung tampo niya (Willie) we were deeply hurt also. Dahil gusto niya siyempre magkasama-sama kami uli. But of course dahil sa nangyaring ito at hindi natin inaasahan na nandito pa rin kami sa Channel 2, right away tinext ko agad siya at si brother John ay nagtext din sa kanya at humihingi na sana sa mga susunod na panahon magkakasama pa rin tayo. Pero at this point siyempre trabaho lang, ‘ika nga at nauna nga lang agad itong ABS-CBN," Randy explained.

Despite the fallout with Willie, John and Randy will headline "Happy Yipee Yehey" on February 12 with co-hosts, reunited friends Toni Gonzaga and Mariel Rodriguez, together with Jobert Austria, Bentong, Melai Cantiveros and Bianca Manalo.

Check out the music video of Regine Velasquez' "True Romance" - the official theme song of Regine and Dingdong Dantes' romantic comedy series “I ♥ You Pare” on GMA-7.

Written by Janno Gibbs, “True Romance” is included in Regine’s latest album “Fantasy”.

True Romance - Music Video and Lyrics:

Just one glance and I never had a chance
There and then I knew I'd fall in love with you
You should know that you had me at hello
I was Juliet and you're my Romeo

You're my super hero save me from this sorrow
Sweep me off my feet and fly me away
You are my McDreamy, you're my own McStreamy
Brad Pitt and George Clooney don't stand a chance
You're my one and only true romance

Just one kiss you swept me off my feet
And my heart was beating faster than it should
Just one smile (Just one smile) and it's like a carpet ride
I can hear the song a whole new world with you
(a whole new world)

You're my Bieber fever, yu're my Ashton Kutcher
I'm going Lady Gaga (papa paparazzi) over you

ooh you are my McDreamy, you're my own McStreamy
Brad Pitt and George Clooney don't stand a chance
You're my one and only true romance

I'll be yours forever and a day
Our love is here to stay
You are my one true romance

Loving you is easy
Though it might sound cheesy
I'm a girl just standing in front of a boy
Asking him to love her
(when you say nothing at all)

You're my super hero
Save me from this sorrow
Sweep me off my feet and fly me away
(fly me away)
You're my one and only true romance
(When I fall in love)

GLEE Season 2 'Sue Sylvester Shuffle' Recap

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Cheerios are going to Nationals and Sue is as usual, unimpressed by amazing stunts and fireworks shooting out of boobage. I mean, who wouldn’t be? Pretty lackluster right? Sue wants to do the mother of all stunts and buys herself a canon to shoot a cheerleader across the football field. Despite common sense, danger, and the protests of most of the team, Sue makes it her mission to fire Brittany out of that canon.

The big championship football game is also coming up but the team has never been in worse shape. There is zero team unity, fights constantly breaking out, and Karofsky’s homophobia is kicking the bullying and slushying up some notches. Poor Artie gets slushy attacked by the entire team and this makes the Glee guys snap. Before they all kill each other, Beiste and Schue agree to force them all together. The football team is forced to join Glee for a week in the hopes some understanding and team unity will happen. I don’t know about you guys but it makes perfect sense to me to have Puckleberry perform Need You Now for the team. A country love song always inspired unity in my world. Shockingly, it doesn’t win the team over but Finn and Puck bury the hatchet.

Sue goes on a rampage throughout the school when her genius canon idea is shot down. I love when Sue rampages. She pulls the Cheerios from performing at the halftime show of the football game forcing Glee to take over. Sue makes the girls in the glee club choose; Glee or Cheerios. The Glee club combined with the football team and tons of zombie make up, practice a mashup of Thriller and Heads Will Roll. Surprisingly, Karofsky is good at Glee. He’s hiding his enjoyment but suggests additional performance warmups of She’s Not There. Don’t make me like you Karofsky.

The man surplus of Glee doesn’t last long once the football players get slushied by the hockey team. Why do they all have mullets? The guys come to their senses and quit Glee and as a result are not allowed to play in the football game. The team now doesn’t have enough players for the game and are pretty much screwed. There’s been a significant lack of Kurt and Blaine in this episode but we do get a fantastic scene. The Warblers are practicing for Regionals and are kicking ASS at it. Bills Bills Bills is their weapon of choice and they sound amazing. Afterwards, Kurt and Blaine hang out with Mercedes and Rachel and Blaine inadvertently gives the girls the idea of joining the football team. Lying down trying not to get tackled but still, joining the team.

The team is losing the game and Tina almost gets flattened by a tackle so morale is pretty low. Puck goes to convince the team to join the halftime show so they can play in the game and Finn goes to convince the girls to stand up to Sue. The girls join Finn and tell Sue to suck it, while the football team sans Karofsky put on their zombie makeup. It’s time for Thriller and they sound A. Maz. Ing. This is definitely up there as one of my favorite performances ever. The entire school is loving it and Karofsky can’t hide his joy at wanting to join in. He embraces it and joins in on the dance with a smile.

Katie Couric shows up to interview Sue on being the biggest loser around for losing Nationals and losing her budget to the Glee club. I enjoy the several Lohan digs that the show spews out during this scene. Sue’s bad mood must have rubbed off on Karofsky who with every step forward takes two steps back. He unleashes his inner douche and tells Finn that Glee is for losers. Quinn comforts him in the form of a kiss.

This was a GREAT return for Glee. It really got back on track and had me laughing out loud for most of the episode. Ashley Fink is amazing and I even loved Puckleberry for a moment there. What do you think Sue will do for her revenge?

Funniest Quotes of the Night

Sam: Bring it.
Finn: Brung.
Sue: That would be the boom boom without the pow. And that’s so 2000 and late.

Christina Aguilera's Awkward Rendition of USA National Anthem at The Super Bowl XLV

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Burlesque lead star Christina Aguilera fumbled the lyrics of "The Star-Spangled Banner" during her performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 6.

Christina started out all right, but later had a problem with the lyrics. Instead of singing the line “o’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming,” Christina sang “what so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming.”

Here's Christina's full performance of USA National Anthem:

Christina's not the first person to goof up the National Anthem in front of a huge audience - it also happened with Roseanne Barr who rendered it poorly at a San Diego Padres game a few years back, and to Macy Gray at the 2001 Hall of Fame game in her hometown of Canton, Ohio, drawing boos from the crowd.

The ex-teen star is quick to respond to criticisms. In a statement sent to Jared, she said, "I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.”

Shaina Magdayao To Fight For Love and Family in ‘Alyna’ Finale

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Hit afternoon drama “Alyna” will culminate its triumphant run with a gripping finale week, according to lead star Shaina Magdayao.

Shaina, who plays the title role, said viewers should watch out if her character will be able to regain her life back after finally finding her way back to Rancho Del Carmen.

Just like her character, Shaina admits to being a fighter herself. “Lahat ng tao, marunong lumaban pag kailangan na. Dahil sa mga pinagdaanan ko these past few years, natuto na rin akong lumaban para sa sarili ko at para sa mga taong mahal ko.

Meanwhile, with the approaching finale of the show, none of the “Alyna” cast are walking away empty-handed because of the great impact “Alyna” has made to their careers.

Apart from getting to work with top-tier directors in F.M. Reyes, Cathy Garcia-Molina and Neil Del Rosario, Jason Abalos said he got his meatiest role to date in “Alyna.”

The same can be said by Shaina, who counts Alyna as her most daring and most challenging role ever. “Alam ng lahat kung gaano ka mature ang material namin, may lalim talaga. Ang dami kong paghihirap, sakit na naramdaman for the first time na hindi ko ma-associate sa buhay ko, na kailangan kong ramdamin as Alyna,” she shared.

Kaye Abad, who’s used to playing the heroine, said she enjoys playing an antagonist. She said she likes it that her character is not purely evil, and is actually someone any person can relate to. “Parang sa totoong buhay lang. tayo rin naman nagiging kontrabida, pero hindi naman pumapatay ng tao. Mas real siya. Hindi sya yung tipong kontrabida na purong masasamang salita o may pinapalanong masama.”

Meanwhile, JM De Guzman, a seasoned theater and indie film actor, takes with him many lessons on TV acting. “Hindi nako masyado nangangapa sa TV. Sa TV, ‘yung processing time mo maliit lang compared sa theater at indie films. You have to be focused. Dapat preparado.

Showbiz newcomers Paul Jake Castillo and Beauty Gonzalez also gained confidence through the support of their co-stars and director. “Hindi mahirap katrabaho sila Jason at Sid. Kahit na award-winning actors sila, sobrang relaxed. Binibigyan nila ako ng tip sa acting. Sabi nila, “understand the scene, at kung saan galing ang character.”

Beauty, who also had to show some skin in the show, said “Dahil sa pagganap ko kay Lisa, mas comfortable na ako sa katawan ko. Pagdating sa sexier roles, gusto ko rin naman i-push yung sarili ko. Tingnan natin kung ano ang darating at kung kaya ko na.

“Alyna,” which was only supposed to run for two to three months was extended to until February due to its stellar performance in the national TV ratings. With a quality that rivals primetime programs, “Alyna” didn’t only raise the bar of afternoon dramas but also heightened the competitiveness of the whole afternoon block.

Fans of the show who have followed the love stories of Rex (Sid Lucero), Alyna, Dominic and Lilet, as well as that of Yael (JM De Guzman) and Jerry (Charee Pineda), and Patrick (Paul Jake Castillo) and Lisa (Beauty Gonzalez) should definitely not miss any episode to find out how the 13th installment of ABS-CBN’s “Precious Hearts Romances Presents” series will end.

Catch the last week of “Precious Hearts Romances Presents Alyna” after “Shoutout” on ABS-CBN.

Anoop Desai - All is Fair (Crazy Love) Music Video and Lyrics

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

Indian-American Anoop Desai, American Idol Season 8 finalist, has released the music video of his latest single “All is Fair (Crazy Love).”

“All is Fair (Crazy Love)” is Anoop’s second single, following “My Name” which was released last year. The song is from his independently released EP (extended play) called “All is Fair.”

Anoop tells Billboard: “The music video is a very literal take on the song. Basically, I’m singing to this girl and pouring my heart out to her, but every time I get to the pre-chorus, she tries to kill me in a different way.”

If one day I get over you, I'd be surprised
I'll always come back to you, you drive me wild
I could drink i case of you and be sober
Only have eyes for you.
This feeling just won't let me go

But all in love is fair
That's what they always say
My problem is i care
About you and me
Your are an angel I swear

All I got is crazy love
Baby i adore you
I want to make you feel my love
Girl, It's waiting for you
I can't make you love me.
But I gotta say you knock me off my feet
I just want one more slow dance
Baby I'm on bended knee

Remember when we used to groove to let's get it on
If you were still my girl tonight, that would be our song
I'll always have you here in my mind like Carolina, but
Now your gonna break my heart and tell me that out was all wrong.

But all in love is fair
That's what they always say
My problem is I care
When i'm old and grey I want you to be there

What I got is crazy love
Baby I adore you
I want to make you feel my love
Girl, It's waiting for you
I can't make you love me.
But I gotta say you knock me off my feet
I just want one more slow dance
Baby I'm on bended knee

Oooh I can build my whole world around you
Girl you know I would.
Baby why don't you let me love you
(You know we'd be good)
I wanna know that i cross your mind
That you wanna be in these arms of mine
I know that I'm the stubborn kind.
I'm nothing if I ain't got you

All I got is crazy love
Baby I adore you
I want to make you feel my love
Girl, It's waiting for you
I can't make you love me.
But I gotta say you knock me off my feet
I just want one more slow dance
Baby I'm on bended knee

Sam Concepcion, Taylor Swifts' Personal Choice To Be Her Front Act at The “Taylor Swift Live in Manila” Concert

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (3)

Sam Concepcion will be the front act performer at the “Taylor Swift Live in Manila” concert on February 19 at the Araneta Coliseum.

According to concert producer Renen De Guia of Ovation Productions, Swift personally chose Concepcion to front for her in Manila. Aside from that, the world famous country-pop singer-songwriter also wanted the young Kapamilya singer-host to join her in the rest of her Asian tour.

Asked about how he feels about it, Concepcion said he is really excited and humbled for this invitation.

"Just really excited that I will be able to do the front act for the Manila concert. On top of that, they want me to do the entire tour na din. I was so shocked! 'Yong mag-front act lang sa Maynila, iba na 'yon. To be invited for the entire thing (sobra na 'yon). I am very humbled that I was invited to join her Asian tour. I am very thankful, excited and thrilled," he said.

Although he admits that the chance to be with Swift in her Asian tour is a big break for him to penetrate Asian countries or even the US, he might not accept the offer because of his prior commitments here in Manila.

"I really hope it works out kasi I just found out like 2, 3 days ago. And well of course I have previous engagement na baka may matamaan na I have to do here in the Philippines. I hope na it works out and maybe I can do a couple of those shows in other countries, hopefully." Concepcion said with disappointments.

"Things happen at the right time. So one day at a time. And just be ready with what will come my way," he added.

gmanews.tv Gets 1-Million Page Views Daily

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

The official news website of listed GMA Network, Inc., GMANews.TV, gets an average of one million page views per day, making it one of the most popular websites for online news in the country.

Howie Severino, GMANews.TV editor-in-chief, said that based on data provided by Google Analytics, the Web site has become the go-to site for Filipinos, especially during major news events like the national elections.

Mr. Severino said traffic on the website spikes during major news events in the Philippines, with more than half of the daily one million average page views coming from outside the country — the United States of America, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong.

For instance, Mr. Severino said the site recorded 12 million page views during the May 10 national elections, reflecting the increasing reliance of Filipinos on online news to get information.

"We [got this record number of page views because of the site’s] superior programming and user-friendly display of election data," Mr. Severino said in a statement. He credited the technical experts at GMA Network subsidiary New Media, Inc. (NMI) for the application that quickly and accurately converted raw data from the Commission on Elections into information used by both the Web site and GMA Network’s news programs. "We had almost real-time results on our site all the way down to the municipal council level. No one else had that."

In its annual awards given to the nation’s leading websites, Digitalfilipino.com recently recognized GMANews.TV for its "technical performance," as well as "high user engagement," and "search engine visibility."

Digitalfilipino.com took note of the various ways GMANews.TV keeps users on the site, noting that it has been a Philippine pioneer in the use of a range of multimedia tools, including Google maps for disaster information, "YouScoop" for crowd-sourcing news, and Flash animation for interactive content.

The news site also has the country’s first online sports show, FTW (www.gmanews.tv/ftw), with commentators Mico Halili, Richard del Rosario, Jason Webb, Magoo Marjon, Alex Compton and Miakka Lim, and audio podcasts (www.gmanews.tv/pbr) of boxing expert Chino Trinidad.

The Web site has also been cited for old-fashioned shoe-leather reporting, recently receiving a PopDev Award for Best Feature of the Year for an enterprise report on abortifacients sold around Quiapo church written by the Web site’s special correspondent, Stephanie Dychiu. The site’s editor Joe Galvez was runner-up in the Photo Essay category for his visual report on the displaced victims of tropical depression Ondoy.

The GMA news website also has a number of resident bloggers (www.gmanews.tv/blogs) like Prof. Winnie Monsod, Fr. Eliseo Mercado, Red Constantino, Ellen Tordesillas, and personal finance expert Francisco Colayco.

It also has lifestyle and feature stories from editor-at-large Krip Yuson and writer Katrina Stuart Santiago.

Next year, Mr. Severino said GMANews.TV will introduce "new and engaging forms of multimedia experiences."

"At the same time, we plan to expand the site’s reach with new sections in several regional languages intended to cater to Filipino Web users who prefer to read their news in their vernacular," he said.

Check out also the audio preview and lyrics of Britney Spears‘ “Hold It Against Me” which is off her Femme Fatale album due on March 15.

Hey over there
Please forgive me
If I'm coming on too strong
Hate to stare
But you're winning
And they're playing my favorite song

So come here
A little closer
Wanna whisper in your ear
Make It clear
Little question
Wanna know just how you feel

If I said my heart was beating loud
If we could escape the crowd somehow
If I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me

Cause you feel like paradise
I need a vacation tonight
So if I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me

Hey You might think
That I'm crazy
But I you know I'm just your type
I'mma be a little hazy
But you just cannot deny

There's a spark in between us
When we're dancing on the floor
I want more
Wanna see It
So I'm asking you tonight

If I said my heart was beating loud
If we could escape the crowd somehow
If I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me

Cause you feel like paradise
I need a vacation tonight
So if I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me

If I said I want your body
Would It Hold It Against Me?

(Yeah)

(Ah)

(Oh)

Gimme something good
Don't wanna wait I want It now (na-na-now)
Pop It like a hood
And show me how you work It out

(alright)
If I said my heart was beating loud
If I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me

If I said my heart was beating loud
If we could escape the crowd somehow
If I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me

Cause you feel like paradise
I need a vacation tonight
So if I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me

Charice: Home for Valentine's - Charice Kapuso TV Special

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (5)

Charice Pempengco is back and is preparing for quite a treat for us. She’s busy preparing for a TV special for GMA-7 in time for month of love. Her special has been in preparation for a few months as the international singer was supposed to shoot “Charice: Home for Christmas” last November but it had to be postponed because she was sick, a case of stomach flu. Ogie Alcasid, Rachelle Ann Go and Elmo Magalona are some of the performers in the GMA-7 special titled “Charice: Home for Valentine’s,” which will be aired on February 13. With her lovely voice, she will have us falling in love all over again. As excited as we are to such an entertainment treat, Charice seems to be elated about her first TV special as well. Charice told the press, “Very excited po ako at very thankful. Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng sumuporta sa akin… Dapat Christmas pa po ’to pero unfortunately, nagkasakit ako. May lumalabas kasi na sinadya ko raw i-cancel pero hindi naman nila alam kung ano talaga ang nangyari. Ngayon na bumalik ako, ito ang patunay na gagawin ko naman talaga [ang special].”

Since she is all geared up to make us swoon this Valentine’s, we can’t help but wonder if this young talent has a certain Valentine this year. When asked who her Valentine date is this year, the young singer said, “Family ko po!” But she admitted that there is young new foreign singer who has expressed a romantic interest in her. Although it has only gone as far as leaving messages, she has finally gotten permission from her mom to start dating. “Si Mommy po, sabi niya pwede na po but I think hindi pa talaga. Minsan naiisip ko nga na i-try pero hindi pa talaga ako ready.

Charice’s mom is definitely a big part of her Valentine’s. She is not only her mother but also mentor, friend, supporter and definitely biggest fan. As she was watching her daughter rehearse, she couldn’t help but cry. We all know that the mom-daughter tandem struggled through real tough times. One of the songs she will be performing in the GMA special is the song they apparently comforted themselves with when Charice felt like giving up after losing in singing competitions. “Nang time na natalo siya, depress na depress siya nun… tingnan mo ’tong kanta na ’to, pakinggan mo ’to. Ito ang magbibigay sa’yo ng inspirasyon. Kasi ayaw na niyang sumali sa singing contest,” shared Mommy Rachel to “Chika Minute” of GMA news “24 Oras.”

It makes us contemplate on who our Valentines are. We do get caught up racking our brains on how to impress our boyfriends and girlfriends. But when you think of the kind of love and sacrifice our parents has bestowed in our lives, it’s a no brainer.

“Charice: Home for Valentine’s” will air on February 13, 8:30 p.m., under the direction of Louie Ignacio on GMA-7.
