However, Bieber was quick to apologize and said sorry via Twitter.

"The Buzz" Guilty of Violating Intellectual Property Rights

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (2)

The Quezon City Prosecutors’ Office has upheld GMA Network Inc.’s complaint that rival network ABS-CBN aired portions of one of its programs without its consent.

The network said eight of ABS-CBN’s staff working for the showbiz program The Buzz aired footage of its program Daisy Siete on February 13, 2005 without authorization.

Asst. City Prosecutor Vesta Victoria Giner-Villamayor recommended that the eight be charged for violation of the Intellectual Property Code.

But she cleared the network’s top executives, including Chairman and Chief Executive Eugenio Lopez III, President Luis Alejandro, Executive Vice-President Maria Rosario Santos-Concio, and Senior Vice-Ppresident Maria Socorro Vidanes of any liability.

Despite [the] allegations against them, no clear evidence was presented that they indeed participated directly or indirectly in the actual airing of the subject footage,” Villamayor said.

Luis Andrada, The Buzz’s production manager, was similarly cleared because he was not yet an active member of the program’s production staff when the incident happened.

But the prosecutors recommended the indictment of executive producer Nancy Yabut, production manager Gia Nina Suyao, director Jonathan Diaz, supervising producer Roxy Liquigan, associate producer for technical matters Lani Gutierrez, associate producer Jenny Ingalia, head writer Romer Gonzales, and TV production head for talk and variety programs Roldeo Endrinal.

The eight argued that the showing of the Daisy Siete footage fell within the “reproduction” of artistic work as part of a report on current events, and that its airing was negligible since it lasted only 10 seconds.

The position taken by the respondents do not sit well with said provisions [of the law],” Villamayor said in her resolution.

The arguments raised by the respondents were “evidentiary in nature” and best left for the court to evaluate during the trial of the case, she said.

Denisse Oca, Phil Younghusband's Girlfriend?

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Phil Younghusband's photo with a certain girl named Denisse Oca, reportedly her girlfriend (now an ex because of Angel Locsin), is currently circulating in the net.

These rumor was immediately denied by Denisse. On her twitter account (@d_oca), Denise said that she is just a friend to Phil, "Been rumors going around & I just want to clarify that I am not @PhilYHusband's gf. We're just friends. Pls get your facts straight. Thanks."

Her statement was seconded by Phil by saying, "Lots of rumors going around. Things being made an issue out of nothing. Please consider the feelings of the people involved. Thanks guys!"

Although they both refute the rumor, there is another issue involving the two in a one-night stand encounter. There has been an exchange of tweet messages between Denisse and a twitter handle @chakaness who is reportedly circulating these rumor. He was the same source mentioned by Dolly Anne Carvajal yesterday in "Paparazzi".

An exchange of tweet messages between @d_oca and @chakaness reflect:

@d_oca to @chakaness: "Who are these so-called friends you talk about? Phil's just a friend, we went out on a few friendly dates, I NEVER slept w/ him."

@chakaness replied: "Totoo walang steady si Phil kasi he prefers one night stands. Wag ka mag-deny Denisse Oca na di mo natikman si Phil. Kalat na sa Republiq."

@chakaness further revealed that it's Denisse who's been telling the whole world that something happened between her and Phil Younghusband that evening.

Denying that she's the one who started the issue, Denisse posted: "This issue has been blown out of proportion. Pls know that these rumors aren't true & I never started it. My REAL friends can attest to that."

See Phil Younghusband and Denisse Oca's pictures below taken at The Republiq Bar in Resorts World last New Year:

The who is Denise? She is 23-years-old and the eldest daughter of character actress Melissa Mendez. She was once a part of QTV Reality show The Debutante.

“Mars Needs Moms” Blasts Off To Space in 3D!

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

With films like “The Polar Express,” “Monster House” and “Disney’s A Christmas Carol” under their belts, producers Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke and Steve Starkey are pioneers in performance-capture filmmaking. And with Walt Disney Pictures' “Mars Needs Moms,” they’ve capitalized on the latest advancements in both performance capture and 3D, creating a visually mind-blowing experience for audiences.

According to Zemeckis, the technology has come a long way. “The advancement is one thousand-fold. The team that created ‘Mars Needs Moms’ is the best performance-capture digital facility on the Earth. The movie - its imagery and the story the technology allows us to tell—is absolutely beyond anything you’ve seen before.”

Zemeckis says there’s an important aspect of the art form that makes these films special. “One of the great bonuses of doing a movie in performance capture is that it’s in 3D all the time. We have to make our movie in 3D just to do it. We now design the movie to be presented in 3D, too. And when you’re doing a 3D movie that’s completely virtual like ‘Mars Needs Moms,’ the 3D can be more spectacular than you can do in any other form. We spend a lot of time and energy designing our movies for the 3D experience for the audience.”

Director Simon Wells says he feels the film has added spark, thanks to the 3D technology. Since the team knew from the beginning that they had another dimension to play with, so to speak, several scenes were built with that knowledge in mind. Gribble’s lair - with all its gadgets, moving mechanisms and secret monitors - as enormously enhanced by the 3D technology, which was a huge advantage to filmmakers because viewers spend a lot of time there. “They can explore the environment far more than seems possible if it weren’t in 3D.”

Wells adds that the technology worked even better than anticipated on a number of occasions. “The first fall into the trash caverns was always conceived as a very dramatic and gut-wrenching moment,” says the director, “but I wasn’t prepared for just how effecting the plummet and tumble down the first trash hill would end up feeling as a fully three-dimensional experience.

Even the director was surprised by the evocative quality of the 3D when it came to a spectacular space scene. “When the Martian spaceship creates a wormhole for its trip across the solar system, outer space literally opens up to reveal further, deeper space behind.”

But it’s a scene late in the film - the climactic moment of the movie - that exemplifies what 3D is capable of expressing. “It’s an absolute show-stopper in 3D,” says Wells. “Anthony Shafer and his team carefully scripted the depth in the preceding scenes to be relatively shallow so that at this particular moment, the screen explodes into a shockingly three-dimensional space, which utterly nails the emotion and action of the moment. For me, the movie was worth doing in 3D simply for that one shot.”

We want to make 3D an immersive, cinematic experience that, like all tools in cinema, ultimately fades away and become invisible. I think ‘Mars Needs Moms’ is a magnificent, state-of-the-art 3D movie.”

Opening across the Philippines on March 16 in IMAX 3D, Digital 3D and regular format, “Mars Needs Moms” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.

“Twilight's” Billy Burke Crosses Over To “Red Riding Hood”

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Billy Burke is well known to genre fans for the part of Charlie Swan - Bella's father - in the blockbuster “Twilight” film franchise. He created the role in the first film, “Twilight,” which also marked his first collaboration with director Catherine Hardwicke. He has since reprised the character in the sequels, “New Moon” and “Eclipse.” Now, Burke reunites wth director Hardwicke for the latter's re-imagining of the beloved fairytale “Red Riding Hood” from Warner Bros.

I have a huge place in my heart for Catherine,” says the actor. “I’ve never met anyone with the energy level she has and it’s infectious. She has a way of infusing everyone on the set with a shared sense of purpose.

“Red Riding Hood” tells the story of Valerie (Amanda Seyfried), a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie’s older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village.

Coming from different perspectives, Valerie’s parents, Suzette (Virgina Madsen) and Cesaire (Burke), have conflicting views on whether it will be Peter or Henry who can make their daughter happy in the long run.

Burke admits that his character “is a man who likes to tip a few back, but his daughter loves him and forgives his faults. Maybe her attraction to Peter is partly due to the old cliché that girls tend to be attracted to men who remind them of their fathers. Cesaire is a woodcutter himself, so he likes Peter and considers him a fine suitor for his daughter.”

Adds Burke, “That’s only part of the chasm that has developed with his wife over the years, which is probably due to his drinking. But Cesaire doesn’t see how that is hurting anyone, including himself.

Burke was previously seen in “Fracture,” with Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling; Jay Russell’s fact-based drama “Ladder 49,” with John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix; Lee Tamahori’s “Along Came a Spider”; “Without Limits,” for writer/director Robert Towne; and Jim Abraham’s “Jane Austen’s Mafia!”

On television, Burke previously had a chilling seven-episode arc in the second season of the hit action series “24.” He also appeared in a recurring role on the series “Wonderland,” created by Peter Berg, and has had guest roles on such series as “Law & Order,” “Fringe” and “The Closer.”

Apart from acting, Burke is an accomplished musician who plays both guitar and piano. He performed in Seattle with the rock band Outcast Theater for many years. His debut album, Removed, was released last June.

Opening across the Philippines on March 11, “Red Riding Hood” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

A Tale of Madness, Role-Reversal in “The Roommate”

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Columbia Pictures assembles today's hottest young stars Leighton Meester (TV's “Gossip Girl”), Minka Kelly (“500 Days of Summer”) and Cam Gigandet (“Twilight,” upcoming “Priest”) for the gripping suspense-thriller “The Roommate.”

Oscar-nominated director Christian E. Christiansen (“RÃ¥zone”) crafts a finely tuned tale of madness and role reversal packed with ingenious twists and heart-stopping surprises as a naïve college freshman (Kelly) begins to suspect that her roommate (Meester) is not what she appears to be.

When the screenplay for “The Roommate” first arrived on producer Doug Davison’s desk, he immediately knew it had all the elements of a successful thriller. The script was skillfully constructed, and grounded in character and dialogue. The tension and suspense built so that, as the story progressed, the audience would feel more and more uneasy, and then, finally, out and out scared.

The producers began to search for a director who could bring a fresh point of view to a time-honored genre. “I had seen the Danish movie `RÃ¥zone,' directed by Christian E. Christiansen, and liked it a great deal,” says Davison. “He has a European sensibility that I thought would make the look and feel of the film unconventional in a good way. We had a few phone conversations and Christian’s approach to the material was all about making it feel real.

“RÃ¥zone,” Christiansen’s first full-length feature, explores the phenomenon of girls who bully, in a thought-provoking and disturbing way. The director proposed bringing an equally realistic point of view to “The Roommate.” “When I read the screenplay, I could see the movie from beginning to end,” says Christiansen. “I understood it completely. I understood the characters. I thought it was sexy, it was hip. And most of all, it was dark and scary, which really turned me on. I love thrillers, especially from the ’70s and ’80s, and being offered the chance to do something similar was really exciting.”

The tension, says Christiansen, comes from establishing a feeling of normalcy and then slowing upending it. “Our main character, Sara, comes to Los Angeles to go to college. She’s assigned a roommate she has never met, Rebecca. We don’t know much about Rebecca except that she’s from a wealthy family and she is interested in art.”

We first present what Sara’s real life is like when she arrives at this dorm,” he continues. “She’s from the Midwest, and maybe a little naïve. She has big dreams about what she wants to become. She’s into fashion design. And so she’s getting to this dorm with an open mind about her roommate.

And then we twist it,” he continues. “It turns out Rebecca is not a normal girl. She has emotional problems. She might be bipolar; she might have some sociopath in her or maybe some schizophrenic elements. In any case, she becomes obsessed with Sara. And by the time the story is done, Sara will have learned a little about what real life may hold, and she’s not as naïve.

The finished film incorporates all the elements Davison recognized in the first draft of the script. “Christian has made a truly frightening thriller that’s grounded in reality,” says Davison. “Anyone who has ever had a roommate can relate and go along for the ride. I think audiences will not only enjoy the experience, they’ll want to talk about it afterward.”

For his part, Christiansen says he just wants audiences to have fun watching the film. “I think they are in for a treat in the roller coaster ride sense. If you’re into creepy movies, you’ll definitely have a good time. The Roommate is a thriller about the line between friendship and obsession, as well as about finding your way when you are young and everything is new. It’s full of emotional ups and downs, full of surprises - and it’s seriously scary!

Opening soon across the Philippines, “The Roommate” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Angelica Panganiban - Phil Younghusband Twitter War; Derek Ramsay and Fan React

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (7)

Award-winning sexy Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban gets into a fight with Philippine Azkals' striker Phil Younghusband and his fan on Twitter when Angel posted an unsolicited advice regarding Phil's reported entry to showbiz.

I dont think so :) mukhang busy lang sila kkpractice para laging manalo :)" saad niya.

"masama. Sana lang mag focus muna silang lahat sa football. Para sa pinas kasi yun. #justsayin' after na lang ng tourny mag artista."

"Ang kitid ng utak ng iba. D ko sinasabing ang gusto ko eh ako lang ang artista. Kung gusto pala nya mag artista, sana d na sya nag football."

"Sana sa pbb sya sumali :) d sa azkals. Baka mapuyat sya sa shooting d sya makalaro ng maayos. Gets nyo ba ko? O buong araw natin to issue?"

"Magaling mag football si phil. Stick to that muna :) kakasimula pa lang natin sa football. Baka mas magenjoy sya sa acting. Sayang."

"Ayan. Ok na ha? Concerned citizen lang po ako. Theres no need to promote FB everynight na sila nasa news.

"The indie film was not me acting. It’s not about me getting into acting or being an artista. It’s about football. It’s about promoting football. Maybe she just misunderstood it."

So, huwag nilang gawing way yun para murahin kami, bastusin kami, kumbaga, tapak-tapakan yung pagkatao namin.

"Kasi, artista kaming nagbibigay ng saya at hindi kami nambabastos ng tao. So, huwag nilang gawin sa amin yun."

"Siyempre, sobra siyang nasaktan dun. I mean, buong-puso siyang naglalaro. And ano niya yun, e, passion niya yun.

Music Video: Fallin by Sarah Geronimo (Catch Me I'm In Love Theme Song)

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Sing with Sarah Geronimo as you listen and watch the music video of her rendition of "Fallin" the official theme song of "Catch Me, I'm Inlove", her latest movie opposite Gerald Anderson.

I'm afraid to fly
And I don't know why
I'm jealous of the people who
are not afraid to die.

It's just that I recall
Back when I was small
Someone promise that they'd catch me
But then they let me fall.

And now I'm fallin
Fallin fast again
Why do I always take a fall
When I fall in love.

You think by now I've learned
Play with fire you'll get burn
But fire can be oh so warm
And that's why I return.

Turn and walk away
That's what I should do
My head says go and find the door
My heart says I found you.

And now I'm fallin
Catch me if you can
Maybe this time I'll have it all
When I fall in love.

Loving someone
I only got me to blame

Help me I'm fallin fallin
Catch me if you can
Maybe this time I'll have it all
Maybe I'll make it after all

Maybe this time
I won't fall
When I fall in love
Oh ohh...

Meet TV5's Primetime Princesses: The Kapatid Network 'Royalty'

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (5)

The Kapatid network introduces the new faces of Primetime - 6 reasons to switch network, 6 faces that will surely capture our hearts, 6 lovely young ladies that are expected to shine even brighter as they make their mark in TV5’s upcoming primetime programs. They are: Eula Caballero, Ritz Alzul, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Arci Muñoz, Danita Paner and Alex Gonzaga.

Eula, at 15 the youngest of the six, is the grand winner of Star Factor, TV5’s first-ever star search.

Profile:

• Full Name: Lou Eula May Caballero Simo
• Nicknames: Eulzee, Bingkay
• Birthday: May 23, 1995
• School: University of San Carlos – North Campus (Cebu City)
• Twitter Account: imeulacaballero

How has your life changed after Star Factor?

I have learned to be responsible especially when it comes to schedules. When there are meetings and tapings, grabe! I have dropped my habit of putting my alarm clock on ‘Snooze’ from time to time. Hahahahaha! I have become more careful about what I say or do. Also, wala na munang boyfriend-boyfriend. That’s it! Kasi if bawal before, more pa now!

Do you intend to go back to school?

Yes. Other than being in showbiz, I have always wanted to be a lawyer then. But I should finish high school muna. I’m in fourth year.”

What do you miss most about Cebu?

My school uniform, swear! Weird, ‘no? You know why? Kasi, I’m very particular about my uniform. Ayoko ng gusot at marumi. After class when I drop by the mall, I still wear my uniform even if it’s bawal. Oops! That’s supposed to be a secret! Sa atin na lang, ha!

Also a Star Factor graduate, Ritz will soon be launched in a lead role in the drama series Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak.

Profile:

• Full name: Ritz Ann Riggie V. Alzul
• Nickmane: Ritz
• Birthday: Jan. 11, 1994
• School: Lyceum of the Philippines University (BS Accountancy freshman)
• Twitter Account: (e-mail) ritz_alzul@yahoo.com

What do you do in your spare time?

I talk to my parents. We discuss our projects for the youth of Diladila, Sta. Rita, Pampanga. I am the SK chairperson there. Sometimes I also surf the Internet, read books and ride my motorbike.”

Are you into sports? How often do you play?

Occasionally, I play badminton and volleyball when I’m on vacation with my cousins, family and friends. That’s our bonding moments.”

What’s your fondest wish now that you are in showbiz?

To be one of those bright shining stars. I want to continue being a role model especially to the youth. Also, to save enough money for college to pursue my dream to become a lawyer.

More than a celebrity little sister to her Ate Anne, Jasmine is determined to make a name of her own as she stars in the remake of Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum with JC de Vera.

Profile:

• Full Name: Jasmine Casandra O. Curtis-Smith
• Nicknames: Jaz, Jas, Baby, Curt
• Birthday: April 6, 1994
• School: Loyola College
• Twitter Account: @jascurtissmith

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

Lip balm and my BlackBerry. I hate it when my lips are dry and chapped. I contact my loved ones through my BB and update Twitter, too!

What are you taking up in college?

So far, I’m undecided. I’m interested in theater, photography and film, though. Who knows? I might change my mind again.”

What’s in your bag?

Depends on how big my bag is. When it’s small, I have my BlackBerry, mints, lip balm, lipstick, lip gloss and my ATM card or some cash. When it’s a big bag, all of the above plus perfume, tissue, sunnies, charger, iTouch and other things that I need daily.”

Having proven her acting mettle as an antagonist in My Driver Sweet Lover, Arci gets her biggest break also as lead role in Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak.

Profile:

• Full Name: Ramona Cecilia D. Muñoz
• Nicknames: Mona, Arci
• Birthday: Jan. 12, 1989
• School: UP Diliman
• Twitter Account: (Secret!)

Is it easier for you to tackle dramatic roles because of your theater background?

Actually. Having a theater background helps a lot. When I was taking up Theater Arts, we had subjects like Voice Enhancement, Theater History and Technical Background, Theater Acting, etc. I apply everything I learned from school in every role/character I do. It’s easier for me to reach out to the audience. In theater they don’t just teach acting. What’s important is for you to develop self-confidence. I can say that I won’t be the person I am now if not for theater.”

What’s the name of your band? Will you still join them in the gigs?

What people don’t know is that I’m a rocker at heart. I grew up listening to Pantera, Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana, The Beatles, Garbage, Deftones, Silverchain, Paparoach, etc. Their kind of music influenced me to form my own band. In 2008, my bandmates (X Uy on guitars, Dion Ignacio on rhythm, Tim Toribio on bass and Paulo Pampuan on drums) started a female-fronted, post-melodic hardcore band called PHiLia, a Greek word that means brotherly love. We started playing in bars in Metro Manila and even out of town. Despite my busy showbiz schedule, I still manage to sit down and write songs with my bandmates. I love music so much so I keep going back to what I used to do before I joined showbiz.”

What is your beauty ritual before you go to sleep?

I make sure I take off my make-up, wash my face with regular facial wash and then I apply moisturizer. Once in a while, I make my own facial organic mask. I read somewhere that egg white tightens the skin, I tried it once and it worked! That’s it.

Danita is the rock diva who starred with JC de Vera in My Driver Sweet Lover. She is bound to prove her versatility as a total performer in the programs the network has lined up for her.

Profile:

• Full Name: Danita Gomez Paner
• Nicknames: Dan, Danitsky, Danita, “Ferown”
• Birthday: April 12, 1989
• School: OB Montessori Greenhills, Reedley International and E.S.A
• Twitter Account: @danitapaner

If you were a rock song, what would you be?

I Think God Can Explain by Splender or New Age Girl by Dead Eye Dick.”

What do you find attractive in a guy?

I know for sure when I like a guy…when I can’t look at him straight in the eye. Weakness ko talaga ’yung eyes. But I’m more particular with the guy’s personality.”

What do you enjoy doing more, acting or singing?

My first love is really singing. I’ve been singing since I was a kid, influenced by my sister who is also into music scene back in the ‘80s. But now that I’m with TV5 as an actress, I become more and more challenged each time they give me a new role, though I believe that acting is a learning process. The more experience you have, the better you get, hopefully.”

Alex is the one who has been identified with TV5 the longest. She’s one of the main hosts of showbiz talk show Juicy and plays the role of Grace in TV5’s high-rating dramaserye Babaeng Hampaslupa (with an all-star cast led by Susan Roces).

Profile:

• Full Name: Catherine C. Gonzaga
• Nickname: Cathy, Cat, Alex
• Birthday: Jan. 16, 1988
• School: University of Asia & the Pacific
• Twitter Account: (Confidential)

What’s the best purchase that you made last year?

My car! I customized it! May bed na siya, dresser, hanger rod.”

Who handles your account?

My parents.”

What are you saving up for?

Probably my own house, just like my Ate Toni’s.

Kathryn Bernardo Bids "Mara Clara" Goodbye

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (26)

Is it really goodbye for Kathryn Bernardo in Mara Clara?

The Farrelly Brothers Push The Comedic Envelope in “Hall Pass”

Posted by Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Hall Pass - one week off from marriage to do whatever you want, no questions asked. That’s what best buddies Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudeikis) get from their wives in New Line Cinema’s outrageous comedy “Hall Pass” written and directed by the Farrelly Brothers (“There’s Something About Mary,” “Shallow Hal”).

In the film, Rick and his buddy Fred consider themselves average, maybe even above-average, husbands. Easygoing, dependable and gainfully employed, they’re the kind of guys who aren’t averse to pitching in with the household chores now and then, or stopping by the dry cleaner’s… the kind of guys who wouldn't dream of cheating on their wives.

Well, actually they would. Not cheat on them, necessarily, but dream about it. Every single day. With every woman they see.

Rick is happily married, with kids and a wife he loves. He has a good job, a nice existence but, like a lot of men, he can’t help noticing women and this irritates his wife,” says co-director Peter Farrelly. The Farrellys also share screenwriting credit with Pete Jones and Kevin Barnett. Together, they felt that this eminently relatable scenario was ripe for some frank and irreverent exploration.

The first thing that struck me about the story was how much comic potential it had. It’s a universal theme. If God came to me and said, ‘Pete, you’re with the hottest woman on the planet, she’s the best and there’s no one better,’ I’d probably still want to take a look at the second-best,” Peter admits. “Even if you’re happily married and committed, it doesn’t mean you stop looking. The question is how far do you take it?

Owen Wilson, who stars as the easily distracted suburban dad, Rick, agrees. “Most guys can’t help noticing a good-looking woman walk by, but some of them do a better job at being subtle about it. With others, like Rick, it’s like they have their heads on a swivel.

One of the ideas behind “Hall Pass” is that men - and women, too - are just hard-wired to look. And occasionally, they may also wonder. What if I wasn’t married? What could I be doing now? And with whom? Being a Farrelly brothers comedy, such probing philosophic questions are bound to lead down some dangerously slippery slopes.

Says Bobby Farrelly, “A lot of people joke about the seven-year itch and this is sort of an updated version of that. When you’re dealing with the sacred institution of marriage, you’re playing with fire, so we knew we had to handle it just right. But we weren’t afraid of tackling the subject and we certainly weren’t going to hold back on any of the jokes or the temptations…or anything else. If we think it’s funny, Pete and I will go for it. We love pushing the envelope.”

“‘Hall Pass’ is absolutely a comedy,” adds screenwriter Pete Jones. “But you never lose sight of the fact that there are consequences to what these characters do.”

Opening soon across the Philippines, “Hall Pass” is a New Line Cinema presentation to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Pictures’ feature film adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer’s acclaimed novel “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.” The film stars Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks, and is being directed by Stephen Daldry (“The Reader,” “The Hours”) and produced by Scott Rudin (“The Social Network,” “True Grit”).

“Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” also stars Thomas Horn, making his acting debut as 11-year-old Oskar Schell, an exceptional child with an off-kilter world view and a daunting mission ahead of him.

Oskar is convinced that his father (Hanks), who died in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, has left a final message for him hidden somewhere in the city. Feeling disconnected from his grieving mother (Bullock) and driven by a relentlessly active mind that refuses to believe in things that can’t be observed, Oskar begins searching New York City for the lock that fits a mysterious key he found in his father’s closet. His journey through the five boroughs takes him beyond his own loss to a greater understanding of the observable world around him.

Shooting entirely in New York, Daldry directs the film from a screenplay by Eric Roth (“Forrest Gump,” “The Insider”). Celia Costas (“Doubt,” “Closer”) serves as executive producer with Mark Roybal (“Doubt”) and Nora Skinner (“The Reader”).

Also starring in the film are James Gandolfini as Ron, a new friend of Oskar’s mom; Zoe Caldwell as the boy’s grandmother; Max von Sydow as the man renting a room from Oskar’s grandmother, who befriends Oskar and accompanies him on his quest; and Viola Davis and Jeffrey Wright as a couple whose own tenuous relationship has a profound effect on Oskar.

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes director of photography Chris Menges (“The Mission,” “The Killing Fields”); production designer K.K. Barrett (“Where the Wild Things Are”); and costume designer Ann Roth (“The English Patient”).

“Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” is currently scheduled for release in 2011 and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Check out the official music video from Bruno Mars featuring Damian Marley for “Liquor Store Blues”.

Standing at this liquor store,
Whisky coming through my pores, Feeling like I run this whole block.
Lotto tickets and cheap beer That's why you can catch me here, Tryna scratch my way up to the top.

Because my job got me going nowhere, so I ain't got a thing to lose.
Take me to a place where I don't care, this is me and my liquor store blues.

I'll take one shot for my pain, One drag for my sorrow.
Get messed up today, I'll be ok tomorrow.
One shot for my pain, One drag for my sorrow. Get messed up today, I'll be ok tomorrow.

Me and my guitar tonight, singing to the city lights, tryna live on more than what I got.
Cause '68 Citrus ain't gonna pay the rent, so I'll be out here til they call the cops.

(Damian Marley)
Here comes junior gong
I'm flying like I'm Superman
I'm thinking that I run the whole block.

I don't know if it's just because
Pineapple kush between my jaws
Has got me feeling that I'm on top

Feeling like I would have stand up to the cops
I saw the puda? dey? guys
A got a hula? de? mas?

I got a talk and walk talking
And fly? making shop?
No kind? for you and the best? kick me drop

Give me this one shot for my pain, One drag for my sorrow.
Get messed up today, I'll be ok tomorrow.
One shot for my pain, One drag for my sorrow.
Get messed up today, I'll be ok tomorrow.
