Newest Jolly Spaghetti Endorsers Mommy Regine and Son Nate Share Their Most Sweet-Sarap Moments
Regine and Nate - who love to spend time just talking to one another about anything and everything under the sun - are the newest members of the Jollibee family and the stars of the latest heartwarming Jolly Spaghetti TV ad.
In the commercial, Regine revisits a familiar scene - a full concert auditorium with thousands of adoring fans - with a sweet-sarap surprise backstage for Nate. The ad goes on to show us special everyday moments between mother and son, with Regine narrating how being a mom has shed new light on day-to-day situations.
This is not the first time Regine and Nate worked on an endorsement together, but she believes that this one with Jollibee is the most special. “The storyboard is so touching and very personal. It shows my different roles as Regine, but it also shows that my greatest one is being a mom, which is the most difficult yet most fulfilling role I have to play,” Regine shared.
Upon first review of the storyboard, Regine said: “Umiyak talaga ako. I said, “pinag-isipan talaga nila.” I’ve never done anything like this, a commercial that celebrates my being a career woman and a mom.”
Asia’s Songbird also shared that this Jollibee ad is inspired by her real life and her thoughts about being a mom. “In the ad, there’s a line where I say “sa lahat ng kinantahan ko, ikaw lang ‘ang nakatulog.” That’s true talaga! He really sleeps whenever I sing to him. It’s like they captured our real lives!” she said.
Another scene in the commercial that made Regine emotional is when she sings the lines “Pangako magmula ngayon, tayong dalawa ang magkasama,” which is lifted from one of her platinum hits “Pangako.” This song holds special meaning to the songstress as it was composed by her husband Ogie Alcasid.
Mommy Regine and Son Nate Sweet-Sarap Bonding Moments
Since she gave birth to Nate in 2011, Regine has slowed down her professional life to spend more time with her son. The first seven years are the most crucial to a child’s development, as studies show, and the Songbird is determined to make the most of it.
One of their favorite bonding activities is to talk to each other before bed. “He always has a lot of kwento for me at night,” Regine said. “He would always say, “Mommy, last kwento,” but this last story would go on for 20 minutes! But honestly, that’s the highlight of my day. He really loves talking.”
“We also play with toys but they’re not really toys,” Nate shared. “It’s called amenities!”
“He loves hotel supplies like toothbrushes,” Regine explains. “So one time when I was traveling, I brought everything back home to him. He was so happy, akala mo binigyan ko ng special gift. To him, it was really special because he knows I remembered him. I then realized, you can buy your child all the toys you can think of, but what they really want is more time with you.”
Regine’s realization is not lost on Nate, who - despite his parents’ celebrity status - prefers simple bonding activities like going on picnics and playing with Regine and Ogie. To make these bonding moments even sweeter and more fun, there’s always the sweet-sarap Jolly Spaghetti to bring more flavor to the Alcasid family’s special time together.
“When it’s time for merienda, he would say “I want one Jolly Spaghetti, two Chickenjoy legs, and two fries.” When I’m not at home, he would ask to order Jollibee and pay for it with his own money! Hindi niya ako hihintayin!” Regine candidly shared.
“The Jolly Spaghetti is so yummy!” the six-year-old exclaimed. “It’s sweet and cheesy and I can eat a lot of it!”
It’s no wonder why Nate - and other Pinoy kids - love Jolly Spaghetti. The al dente noodles are topped with Jollibee’s unique sweet-sarap sauce, meaty hotdog slices, and a generous sprinkling of grated cheese.
“The Jolly Spaghetti’s unique sweet-sarap, flavors have always had a distinctive place in the hearts of Filipino kids and kids-at-heart, because moments spent with loved ones over a plate of Jolly Spaghetti are made sweeter, more fun, and more special,” said Cathleen Capati, Jollibee Marketing Director. “Regine and Nate’s story is not only heartwarming but also relatable to millions of Filipinos.”
Like Regine and Nate, make your family bonding moments more special with the sweet-sarap na walang katulad Jolly Spaghetti. The Jolly Spaghetti Solo retails for only P50.00* and the Jolly Spaghetti Family Pan (good for four to five persons) for P199.00*. Both are available in all Jollibee stores nationwide for dine-in, take-out, delivery, and drive-thru.

"Patay Na Si Hesus" (Jesus Is Dead) RIP. OTW. LOL. Showing in U.S. Theaters Starting April 6
Because it’s not. And it’s not about that Jesus either.
So, y’all can chill when it comes to U.S. theaters starting tomorrow, April 6, in 11 cities in California, Nevada, Illinois and New Jersey.
A darling of film festivals, “Patay Na Si Hesus” won the Audience Choice and Gender Sensitivity Awards when it debuted late 2016 at the QCinema International Film Festival and the Jury’s Choice Award at the 2017 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (Festival of Filipino Films) of the Film Development Council of the Philippines. It won the Star Awards Indie Movie Screenwriters of the Year for Moira Lang (formerly Raymond Lee) and Fatrick Tabada and FAP Awards for Best Supporting Actress for Chai Fonacier. It has played at the 1st Cinematografo International Film Festival in San Francisco, Seattle Twist Festival, Toronto Reel Asian Festival and Cambodia International Film Festival.
One thing in common about theaters that screened this movie, which by the way, is in a Filipino dialect called Cebuano (not Tagalog)? They were packed. And theatergoers almost died… laughing.
No worries for those who will watch starting tomorrow: this original crazy rib-tickler will have English subtitles.
The film stars Jaclyn Jose, the first Filipina to win Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for the dark and gritty, “Ma’ Rosa” in 2016. She plays Maria Fatima or Iyay for short. Joining her are Chai Fonacier as Jude, Melde Montanez as Jay, Vincent Viado as Hubert, among others.
Oh, yes, there is this cuddly canine named Judas. But don’t ask who played Jesus.
So, what’s going on in this film? Iyay got her three adult kids together on a long drive from Cebu to Dumaguete (think about 5 hours of driving). The reason? To attend the funeral of Iyay’s long-estranged husband and father of her kids named Hesus. The eldest child, Hubert, has Down’s syndrome. The middle child, Judith Marie is a lesbian/trans man named Jude. The youngest child, Jay, is a jobless bum. With Judas the dog and their crazy aunt, Lucy, they all squeezed into their trusty minivan for one life-changing road trip guaranteed to make the viewers cackle, giggle and guffaw from all the hilarious banter and absurdity that go on. But viewers might need a tissue or two for tears because this is one family story that will also touch hearts.
ReelAdvice.net wrote:
“Quirky, offensive and hilarious are words that easily describe "Patay na si Hesus". The film mixes comedy and drama perfectly into a volatile, unique and in-your-face experience. This is one road movie you wouldn't want to pass up.”
Kudos to director Victor Villanueva, the cast and crew.

TFCU is an initiative which aims to connect, inspire, and empower Filipino college students and young professionals through the TFCU Talks event, which features industry professionals and personalities who share their stories that will help the Filipino youth realize their full potential while embracing their cultural identity.
There have been a series of TFCU Talks already held in the United States, which are the "TFCU Breaking the Mold" in Long Beach, California; "TFCU Talks Seattle: Live Your Legacy" in Seattle, Washington; "TFCU Talks Carson: Rise Up" in Carson, California; "TFCU Talks San Jose: Breakthrough to Greatness" in San Jose, California; the most recent "TFCU Talks Davis: Embracing Identity" in Davis, California; and happening soon is the "TFCU Talks New York City: Visionary Leadership" in New York City.
TFCU Talks has created a positive buzz one talk after the other, with its reputable speakers who are the likes of Food Network's "The Great Food Truck Race" season four winner Lanai Tabura, singer-musician-songwriter-recording-artist AJ Rafael, and tech entrepreneur and adventure journalist Garrett Gee of "The Bucket List Family."
On its second international leg happening this year, "TFCU Talks Sydney" anchors on the themePursuing Your Passion and taps the young Filipino-Australians by featuring three industry professionals who went out of their comfort zones and discovered their full potential.
Eman Rodriguez
At the young age of 12, Eman Rodriguez already knew his passion – breakdancing. He kept honing his skills, until he decided to join "So You Think You Can Dance" season 2 in 2009. Even if he did not make the final cut, Rodriguez kept going after his dream. He joined the dance group Justice Crew to compete in "Australia's Got Talent" in 2010, where they were hailed the season's champion. This opened door of opportunities for them, such as a record contract under Sony Music where they had several platinum hit singles.
After leaving the group to pursue a solo career, Rodriguez focused on developing his talents to fulfill his dream of being a multi-skilled entertainer. One of the skills he worked on is hosting, which he exhibited at the "10th BC ONE World Breakdancing Competition" and his YouTube show "REEL."
Aside from music and breakdancing, Rodriguez' other passion is football and in 2017, he joined the Philippine rugby football team "Philippine Volcanoes" to represent the country in different international competitions.
Gretchen Ho
People first took notice of Gretchen Ho in 2008 when she joined and became one of the star players of Ateneo Lady Eagles, the volleyball team of the prestigious Philippine university Ateneo de Manila University. Aside from the scholarship, Ho joined the squad to prove to her parents that she can juggle her responsibilities as a student while still pursuing her passion in sports.
After she graduated in 2013, Ho tried her luck in the news and entertainment industry in the Philippines where she discovered her gift and spunk for hosting. It may be a far cry from her image as an athlete, but eventually she learned the ropes. Now, Ho has several regular hosting stints in ABS-CBN's news programs like "Umagang Kay Ganda (A Beautiful Morning)," "TV Patrol," and ANC's lifestyle program "Modern Girls."
Marco Andre Selorio
Marco Andre Selorio is the man behind some of the popular dance competitions in Australia.Selorio is not new to the entertainment industry as he once was part of the children's show "Kulit Bulilit" (Curious Kids) in the Philippines. His acting career was cut short when his family migrated to Australia.
There he focused on his studies and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Commerce and Economics. He launched HOOPDREAMZ, a business that started by sending out newsletters for Sydney Kings basketball team. Netflix and Formula 1 Announce Exclusive Docu-Series
Formula 1 and Netflix are proud to announce a season-long collaboration culminating in an original docu-series of the 2018 FIA Formula One World Cham pionship, to be screened in early 2019.
This Netflix original series will be the first to truly immerse the audience inside the cockpits, the paddock and the lives of the key players in Formula 1. The series will have unparalleled and exclusive access to the world's fastest drivers, team principals and owners, as well as Formula 1's own management team.
Netflix has commissioned 10 episodes from the 2018 season, and the production team will film and reveal the intense fight for the heart, soul, and direction for the future of this multibillion-dollar business.
This series will be executive-produced by Academy-Award winner James Gay Rees (Senna) and Paul Martin for Box to Box Films. Sophie Todd will be the showrunner.
"This partnership with Formula 1 furthers our mission of working with world-class brands and production partners to produce best-in-class unscripted series," said Bela Bajaria, Vice President of Content for Netflix.
"Formula 1 is a global sport that we are actively repositioning from a motorsport company to a media and entertainment brand," Sean Bratches, F1 Managing Director of Commercial Operations said. "The agreement with Netflix serves to chronicle the fascinating story of what transpires behind the scenes during a grand prix season. This is a perspective of the sport that has yet to be unveiled to fans around the world. This series will unleash a compelling vantage point to the sport that will delight fans and serve as a catalyst to entice new fans."
Added Ian Holmes, Director of Media rights: "We are delighted to welcome a Netflix Original to Formula 1, a brand which has screened so many successful productions. This collaboration represents a new way of capturing our sport in all of its exciting aspects. There is nothing like F1, its layers of engineering complexity, allied to the enormity of human endeavour required to get through a Grand Prix season. The chance to present our sport through Netflix, to their worldwide audience, in an original and unique format, is something that we are very much looking forward to. This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase F1 and attract new fans to the sport."
Inigo Pascual and DJ Moophs Collaborate with Summer Hit Single “On my way!”
Spring may have officially started in the U.S. though it still feels like winter in most places. But with the latest collab track dropped by Billboard Philippines Top 20 chart-topper Inigo Pascual and DJ and music producer Chris Lopez a.k.a. Moophs, expect the duo to fan the flames of summer heat from the Philippines and bring it to American shores with their new single, "OMW (On My Way)".
This is not the first time that Pascual and Moophs have worked or performed together. Both are coming off the high profile success of "One Music X" last November in Dubai, UAE which turned out to be one of the biggest music festivals of the year in the Middle East. Just last weekend, the two also performed at the prestigious Coronation Night of the Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant held at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum in Metropolitan Manila.
When "OMW" debuted on YouTube on March 15 with hardly any publicity and promotions, it immediately garnered tens of thousands of views, scores of likes and positive comments.
"When I wrote 'OMW', I tried to put myself in the shoes of my 21-year old self, since that's where Inigo's at now," said Moophs. "What was my mindset 10 years ago? What was I worried about and what was I doing on the daily? I definitely wasn't the young superstar at 21 that Inigo is today! But I think a lot of the driving forces are ultimately the same: girls, music, finishing school, and having a good time with friends. I tried to write the song from that perspective: you wake up a little groggy from a fun night, get a text from your girl, and head over to her place. Simple!"
Moophs continued: "The vibe of the production for 'OMW' came from a blend of my tastes and Inigo's. I tried to keep it lighthearted and accessible with a drop that's fun but still slaps. 'OMW' is your twenty-something summer anthem."
While based in the Philippines right now asABS-CBN's International Music Content Officer and head of the Tarsier Records imprint, which was launched by Manila-based recording giant Star Music for international audiences, Moophs shares the Los Angeles feels and vibes with Pascual because both of them lived for years in the City of Angels. Both have been exposed to the breadth of musical influences in the world's seat of entertainment. When Pascual returned to the Philippines to try it out as an actor and singer, his first big break in music came when he composed and recorded "Dahil Sa 'Yo" (Tagalog phrase that means "because of you"). The song jumpstarted his career as a recording and live performing artist as it became the first number one song on Billboard Philippines' Top 10 Charts at opening, then holding the top spot for nine weeks.
Currently, Pascual's music resides in the genres of Pop and R&B. "I want to create music that helps people express their unspoken emotions; music that takes them back to a specific time in their lives, an anthem of sorts for a generation: music that gets people to dance, and entire stadiums to sing and shout," he said.
