Don't Let Constipation Kiss You Merry Christmas Goodbye!

Discomfort, days of waiting and, sometimes, tears are only some of the things constipated people go through on a daily basis.

You know that expression, “It looks like you’re constipated,” referring to your facial expression? That means you have a pained look; an expression that conveys you’ve been suffering.

A post shared by Jeng Bauto (@showbiznest) on

The suffering is real. There is no pleasure derived from constipation. A person is supposed to poop every day or at least regularly, not twice a week. Moving your bowels should give you a feeling of relief, not pain and more suffering.

So how do you know you’re constipated? Here are some common signs:

1. You poop less than three times a week. While it is not true that you should move your bowels every day in order to be in the non-constipated category, less than three times a week is too much.

2. Your poop is painful, dry and dark. According to the Bristol Stool Chart, if your stool is hard to pass, lumpy and shaped like nuts, you are constipated. You are doing okay if your stool looks like a sausage, has cracks on the surface and is soft and smooth. It is not true that your stools need to be very soft. In fact, having very soft stools that are bordering on being almost liquid is a sign that there is a problem.

3. You’re always gassy. Yes, it can be embarrassing to always be farting, especially when you’re in a public place or, heaven forbid, while out on a date!

But being flatulent can be a sign of constipation. Yes, farting isn’t necessarily a sign that you’re on the verge of pooping. Having stored feces makes it difficult for a constipation to pass gas normally and this can result in flatulence.

4. Bleeding. If you see blood in your stool, you may be constipated. Having bloody stools can be caused by anal fissures resulting from hard bowel movement. But it can also mean there is bleeding somewhere in your digestive tract. It is best to have it checked by a doctor.
It’s not true that taking laxatives is an unhealthy habit. There is no evidence that use of stimulant laxatives leads to serious health problems.

With decades of clinically proven efficacy and scientific expertise, Bisacodyl (Dulcolax®) is the No. 1 laxative in the Philippines.

Bisacodyl (Dulcolax®) helps you be in control of your life by helping you poop regularly.

If you poop regularly without any straining or pain, you don’t feel bloated or gassy. It can make your life easier. Not worrying about constipation will give you time to enjoy the more important things in life like time with family and friends, traveling, going on adventures and many others.

"Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" Generates Box-Office Magin in PH with P109.53-M Opening Gross

Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald cast a spell at the box office in the Philippines, opening with an impressive P109.53-M in its opening weekend, this was announced today by Francis Soliven, General Manager of Warnrt Bros. Philippines.

The second of five all new adventures in the Wizarding World™ created by J.K. Rowling, the film opened on November 15, with sold-out shows and fans lining up to be among the first to see the film.  The opening weekend marked the year’s second-biggest debut for a Warner Bros. title, bested only by The Nun (P129-M).

Soliven stated, “We are so excited that Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has connected so strongly with fans, who have been eagerly anticipating a return to the Wizarding World.  We expect word of mouth and repeat attendance to carry the film well into the holiday season and congratulate the dedicated filmmakers and the talented ensemble cast, who have created a moviegoing experience that delivers for a broad audience.”

At the end of the first Fantastic Beasts film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne).  But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.  In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead.  Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald features an ensemble cast led by Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, Kevin Guthrie, Poppy Corby-Tuech, and Brontis Jodorowsky, with Jude Law and Johnny Depp.

David Yates directed the film from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling.  David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram produced, with Tim Lewis, Neil Blair, Rick Senat and Danny Cohen serving as executive producers.

The film reunited the behind-the-scenes creative team from the first Fantastic Beasts film, including director of photography Philippe Rousselot, production designer Stuart Craig, costume designer Colleen Atwood, and editor Mark Day.  The music is by composer James Newton Howard.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Heyday Films Production, a David Yates film, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, being distributed worldwide in 2D, 3D, 4D in select theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Meet the Regents of “The Four Realms” in “ The Nutcracker”

The filmmakers behind Disney's "The Nutcracker and the Fourth Realm" relished the idea of reinventing a time-honored story.

Based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's classic tale and "The Nutcracker," "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" showcases the wondrous journey of Clara, who finds herself in the mystical world of the Four Realms, home to a host of eccentric characters and no shortage of surprises.

Foremost of these characters are the Regents of the Four Realms -- the Sugar Plum Fairy, Mother Ginger, Hawthorne and Shiver.  Let's get to know them better!

SUGAR PLUM FAIRY is the beloved regent of the Land of Sweets, the yummiest of the realms with its gingerbread architecture and gum drop décor. Elegant, ethereal and naturally sweet, Sugar Plum wears a gown that sparkles like crystalized sugar. She welcomes Clara to the Four Realms with open arms, declaring her the guest of honor at an extravagant pageant. Clara's mother, Marie, was once Sugar Plum's dearest friend, so Clara is family.

"Sugar Plum is the personification of femininity," says Keira Knightley, who portrays the character. "I like to do a lot of research, so I started with the actual music of the Sugar Plum Fairy, which led to her laugh. I later found her high-pitched, girly voice that has two sides to it: pristine femininity and at the same time, quite assertive."

MOTHER GINGER, leader of the dark and ominous Fourth Realm, is feared by all who inhabit the other realms. She once presided over the beloved Land of Amusements, a place of wisdom and entertainment, but a fierce dispute among the regents led to her banishment and her realm became a forgotten fairground with an abandoned carousel and wayward polichinelles. Mother Ginger sports fiery red hair and a face that's chipped and cracked like a broken doll, a look that surely underscores her reputation as an evil tyrant.

Helen Mirren fills Mother Ginger's shoes. "She is a very wise character - she has great insight," says Hallström. "Helen Mirren has the authority and intelligence to play a character like that. She's so smart and she's funny."

HAWTHORNE is the emotional and flamboyant regent of Land of Flowers, a fragrant and colorful realm with windmills, emerald foliage and blooms abound. Always smiling and filled with enthusiasm, Hawthorne heartily embraces celebration and pageantry. But he tends to shy away from conflict and often finds himself overshadowed by his fellow regents. He worries about the instability that threatens the realms - though he's quick to set his concerns aside when Clara arrives. In fact, Hawthorne is the first to react - bursting with unbridled excitement, much to the chagrin of the more reserved Shiver and Sugar Plum.

According to Eugenio Derbez, who plays Hawthorne, the look of the character leaves no mystery as to which realm he oversees. "I'm like a walking bouquet," says Derbez. "I'm covered in flowers! It took two hours in the makeup chair each day to complete the look because they had to strategically place a lot of small detailed flowers on my face.

SHIVER is the regent of Land of Snowflakes, a stunning winter wonderland with ice castles and alpine villages set against a white-peaked mountain backdrop. Shiver is a well-mannered gentleman who's concerned with the future of the realms and nervous to a fault, Shiver wrings his hands with angst and uncertainty. He might come off as serious and unengaging - some would say cold - but Shiver is quite friendly underneath all of that frost.

Richard E. Grant was called on to portray Shiver. "I have snowflakes all over my face," says Grant. "My beard is made of icicles, I have a 19th-century wig with icicles coming out of my head, and my fingernails are very long icicles, too. Jenny Beavan's extraordinary costume design, combined with Jenny Shircore's brilliant icicle make-up and wig design, instantly conjured up a severe looking, Arctic regent, obsessed with preserving his snowy realm from being changed or destroyed by evil forces. Shiver is willing to risk everything to support and protect Clara."

"The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" is now playing in Philippine cinemas nationwide.

About "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms"

All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer's (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key - which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It's there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara's key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world. Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Disney's new holiday feature film "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" is directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston, and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann's classic tale.

More viewers nationwide turned to ABS-CBN for value-laden and relevant news stories as it scored an average audience share of 44%, or 13 points higher than GMA's 31%, according to data from Kantar Media.

Multinational audience measurement provider Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.

Nine out of ten most watched programs were produced by ABS-CBN, led by "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" (43.6%) and followed by "TV Patrol" (32.2%).

The Christmas Chronicles a holiday adventure from producer Chris Columbus (“Home Alone”, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone") and director Clay Kaytis ("The Angry Birds Movie"), tells the story of sister and brother, Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy Pierce (Judah Lewis), whose Christmas Eve plan to catch Santa Claus (Kurt Russell) on camera turns into an unexpected journey that most kids could only dream about. After staking out Santa’s arrival, they sneak into his sleigh, cause it to crash and nearly derail Christmas. As their wild night unfolds, Kate and Teddy work together with Santa - as you've never seen him before - and his loyal Elves to save Christmas before it's too late.

Director Clay Kaytis: "No one is better suited than Kurt Russell to bring our version of a rugged, charismatic, and hilarious Santa Claus to life. From our first meeting, he completely threw himself into this iconic role - and grew an impressive beard in the process. It has been a dream come true to work with Kurt in creating what I believe will be the new definition of Santa Claus for generations to come."

Producer Chris Columbus: “Kurt is the definitive Santa Claus. Charismatic, tough when needed with a wicked sense of humor. We’re really excited for audiences to see his performance onscreen and hope The Christmas Chronicles becomes a timeless classic.”

The Christmas Chronicles will launch globally on Netflix November 22.

Carlo Aqino Joins Girlfriend Angelica Panganiban in "PlayHouse"

Mornings will be filled with more love and kilig as Kapamilya actor Carlo Aquino joins the cast of ABS-CBN morning series “PlayHouse.”

Carlo plays Harold, a doctor who first encountered Patty (Angelica Panganiban) when he saw her crying in the rain after her breakup with Marlon (Zanjoe Marudo).

Harold and Patty’s second meeting, however, was not as pleasant as the first one as he mistakenly entered the room where she, who was only wearing a hospital gown, was set to have a check-up with an obstetrician-gynecologist. However, the unintentional mistake will bolster Harold's interest in Patty and will compel him to go out of his way to know her even more.

While a new man has entered her life, Patty’s relationship with Marlon might get another chance because of the possibility that she is pregnant with his child. It will be a grand celebration for their loved ones, who have been wishing for them to finally get back together.

Will Patty’s possible pregnancy finally lead to her reconciliation with Marlon? What role will Harold play in their lives?

Don’t miss the morning fun in “PlayHouse” on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN HD (SkyCable ch 167). For updates, follow @abscbnpr on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram or visit www.abscbnpr.com.
