Ogie Alcasid and Moira Dela Torre Release "Beautiful," a Song About God’s Light and Love Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic

‪Ogie Alcasid and Moira Dela Torre send a message about God’s majestic glory in the devotional song “Beautiful,” set to be released this Friday (August 14) under Star Music.

It just came to me one day while I was playing some chords on the piano. The lyrics just started flowing as if the Lord was telling me that all that He has done for us is simply beautiful and glorious,” Ogie recalled.

The singer-songwriter said he started composing “Beautiful” in 2019 and asked Moira to collaborate with him on the song. But it wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic happened this year that things finally aligned for the track’s final version - which was mixed and reengineered by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.

This pandemic has been the backdrop of this entire song. While we have been cooped up in our own houses, Jesus has been welcoming us to go back to Him. He has a plan and His plan is always beautiful,” Ogie added.

Moira also stressed how “Beautiful” turned out to be perfectly timely and powerful at this time. “It’s such an amazing reminder that despite all the storms, we serve a mighty and beautiful God who makes everything beautiful in His time,” she said.

The two recently teamed up with fellow Kapamilya artists to make a new version of the prayer song “Ililigtas Ka Niya” for the benefit of ABS-CBN’s “Pantawid ng Pag-Ibig” campaign. Ogie also recently did a collaboration with his wife Regine Velasquez and couple Jaya and Gary Gotidoc for the worship song “Live for Jesus.”

Ogie and Moira are just two of the gifted artists under ABS-CBN Music, which also houses many of the best OPM music of today.

Magnify God’s magnificence by listening to Ogie and Moira’s “Beautiful,” out on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Deezer, and YouTube this Friday (August 14).

Get P5 Balik Bayad per Liter When You #ScanToPay with PayMaya QR at Petron Stations

Digital financial services PayMaya has teamed up with Petron Corporation to provide a safe and contactless payment experience to motorists fueling up at participating Petron stations nationwide.

To pay, motorists can simply scan the PayMaya QR code using their PayMaya app, or use their debit or credit cards as well as other e-Wallet accounts through the One by PayMaya all-in-one point-of-sale (POS) device.

Offering contactless payment options at our stations is among our top priorities as we embrace the ‘new normal’. We are happy to partner with PayMaya to deliver a safe but also rewarding experience to all our customers nationwide by allowing them to pay using their mobile phones or payment cards. This way, we can further minimize contact between our customers and service station personnel,” said Petron VP for Retail Sales Archie B. Gupalor.

"Along with our various efforts to help the transportation sector go cashless, we are excited to work with Petron and their customers to pay using PayMaya QR or other contactless payment methods. Digital payments ensure that the entire transportation chain–from commuters paying in taxis to motorists fueling up at stations– can have safer and more convenient experience." said Shailesh Baidwan, President of PayMaya.

Encouraging a safer way to pay

To encourage motorists to use this safer way to pay, PayMaya is offering rewarding perks as part of its PayMaya Preferred program with Petron.

Until September 30, 2020, they can easily get P5 Balik Bayad per liter when they spend a minimum of P300 (P100 starting on August 15) and #ScanToPay using PayMaya QR at a Petron station. They can enjoy this perk and earn up to P500 Balik Bayad per month as long as their PayMaya account is upgraded.

If their PayMaya account is not yet upgraded during the transaction, there's no need to worry because they can still get a one-time Balik Bayad of P30 for a minimum spend of P250 (P100 starting on August 15) - they just have to make sure to upgrade their account after the transaction to receive this perk.

What’s even better is that this offer can be availed on top of the 1%, 10%, or 100% Balik Bayad QR promo capped at P500 Balik Bayad per month. Not only is paying via PayMaya QR safer and more convenient, it’s also definitely more rewarding.

So the next time you need to gas up at Petron, make sure to #ScanToPay with PayMaya QR. To get more details on this promo, visit https://www.paymaya.com/deals/petron. You can also check out paymaya.com/deals for more of PayMaya’s exciting promos.

If you don’t have your own PayMaya account yet, it’s easy to sign up and start enjoying the perks that come with having one. Just download the PayMaya app for Android or iOS at https://official.paymaya.com/CAK1/425eb133, register your own account, and start shopping with the fastest, safest, and most rewarding, to pay for anything online or in stores. Noah Centineo and Sam Claflin Are No Longer Saints in “Charlie’s Angels”, Still Showing in PHL Theaters

‪Two of today's most exciting actors, Sam Claflin (Me Before You, The Hunger Games) and Noah Centineo (Netflix's To All the Boys I've Loved Before) join the brave, new trio of women investigators in Columbia Pictures' new action-adventure Charlie's Angels.‬

‪(Watch the film's trailer at https://youtu.be/p8XvHarrLAs.)

‪Director Elizabeth Banks takes the helm as the next generation of fearless Charlie's Angels take flight. In Banks' bold vision, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are working for the mysterious Charles Townsend, whose security and investigative agency has expanded internationally. With the world's smartest, bravest, and most highly trained women all over the globe, there are now teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs everywhere.‬

‪In this movie, we meet Elena Houghlin (Naomi Scott), a brilliant scientist and engineer who has created Calisto, a sustainable energy source designed to revolutionize the way we power things. When her bosses rush her invention to market, she warns them there is a flaw in the system: in the wrong hands, it can be used as a deadly weapon. Unfortunately, her bosses turn out to be The Wrong Hands, so Elena turns to The Townsend Agency for help. A contemporary whistleblower story worthy of the 21st Century Angels, Elena's fight for justice ignites a globe-trotting adventure to get the device back before something terrible happens.‬

‪As Elena's "handsome nerd" assistant Langston, Noah Centineo was already the internet's boyfriend (thanks to rom-com To All the Boys I've Loved Before) when he signed on to the project. So it's fitting that he and Jane (Ella Balinska) awkwardly hit it off. "People were all stoked about Noah, sighing and stuff," says Kristen Stewart. "And I was like, he's cool but who is this kid? They had to tell me. An oh man, he is seriously charming. It's no joke."‬

‪"My character's got a goofy element to him, but he's pretty well-rounded, though," shares Centineo. "He's not goofy when you should be serious. He won't just crack a joke when it shouldn't be there. But he's also not afraid to make fun of certain normal structures."‬

‪Meanwhile, Claflin plays Elena's boss, the CEO Alexander Brok who's backed by a mysterious partner and plans to use Calisto for evil.‬

‪Alexander is the kind of guy who lived in his own head until he happened to invent tech that made him the rich man he is today, explains Claflin. "But with that, he surrounds himself by people that say, 'Yes. Yes, Mr. Brock.' So I think he's kind of spoiled in many respects. But he's not too sure of exactly what's going on."‬

‪2016 saw Sam Claflin take on the lead role of Will opposite Emilia Clarke in the box office hit Me Before You and 2015 saw Claflin star as Finnick Odair for the last time in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. The final film in the box office phenomenon franchise saw Sam reprise the role he played in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 opposite Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson.‬

‪Noah Centineo proved 2018 to be his breakout year. With two highly successful films, he experienced an incomparably steep rise to fame within a matter of weeks.‬

‪His rise began with the release of To All the Boys I've Loved Before, a film adaptation of Jenny Han's YA best-seller, which was released on Netflix in August 2018. Centineo will reprise his role in the sequel To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You on Netflix on February 12, 2020.‬

‪In Philippine cinemas November 13, Charlie's Angels is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. ‬

Kathy Bates Wins Acting Honors for Clint Eastwood’s “Richard Jewell”

‪Legendary actress Kathy Bates (Misery, Dolores Claiborne) has been getting rave notices for her performance as the mother of real-life hero security guard-turned bombing suspect in Clint Eastwood's "Richard Jewell."‬

‪See a glimpse of Bates' performance that critics are calling "a gutting centerpiece" in the clip below.‬

‪YouTube: https://youtu.be/LMte06VLFNc

‪After winning the Best Supporting Actress prize from the National Board of Review (NBR), Bates has just received a Golden Globe Awards nomination in the same category. ‬

‪"Thank you HFPA for the recognition, I am so proud of this film and it was an honor to work with Mr. Eastwood on telling this important story," Bates said in a statement after her nomination was announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) that hands out the Golden Globes. "I hope our film brings justice and peace to Richard and Bobi Jewell in telling their truth and honoring his heroism."‬

‪Despite her long and respected career, this film marks Bates' first at bat in an Eastwood movie. "I have to say what really attracted me to the film was working with Clint, and the idea that I would finally get that opportunity was just amazing." ‬

‪The actress reveals that the first thing she asked the storied director was, "'Why did you want to make this movie?' And the first thing he said to me was that it's a movie he'd want to see. He said he really felt it was a tragedy that this man was treated so badly by the FBI, that he was tricked when he went in to make this training film, which was all a ruse to get him to waive his Miranda rights. That just astounded me. I had known about the bombing, of course, but I had no idea how devastating it was for Richard Jewell and his mother. And to read about that in the script was just absolutely horrifying."‬

‪In Philippine cinemas January 15, "Richard Jewell" is distributed in the Philippines by Warner Bros. Pictures, a WarnerMedia Company. ‬
