Sofia Pablo Leaves Kapuso Toprating Daytime Series 'Primadonnas' Due to Covid-19

GMA Entertainment Group’s has released a statement following reports that young actress Sofia Pablo, who plays the role of Donna in Kapuso toprating daytime series "Primadonnas", decides to leave the series.

It is with a heavy heart that GMA Entertainment Group announces that Sofia Pablo will no longer be part of the upcoming fresh episodes of the Afternoon Prime drama series Prima Donnas.

This is in strict compliance to the guidelines of the Department of Labor and Employment on the engagement or participation of a child below 15 years of age during the implementation of community quarantine

Meanwhile, preparations for the program’s resumption of taping continue with the production strictly following the safety protocols and guidelines mandated by the government.

Kim Chiu Joins ‘It’s Showtime’ as Newest Main Host

After a number of appearances as a guest host, Kim Chiu officially joined "It's Showtime" as its newest host today (September 28).

Kim, who also opened the live episode with an explosive song and dance number, shared her excitement to finally be part of the noontime show's family.

"Thank you for welcoming me and for allowing me to be part of the program. I'm really happy that I will get to spend every day and have fun with the 'madlang people.' Thank you very much. Kapamilya Forever," she said while holding back her tears.

Netizens were just as excited as Kim as they welcomed the actress by posting about the episode on Twitter, making it the top trending topic on Twitter in the Philippines with the hashtag #ShowtimeCHINITAnghali.

Twitter user @pearlagua_ posted, “What a sweet welcome by the Showtime family. Congratulations, Kimmy cutie! This will really bring good vibes. The bond they have is different and it’s nice to think that Kim will be a part of that.”

“The feeling that you are finally a main host of Showtime after only being a guest host before. We’re so happy for you Kim!” shared @nizzieh01 on Twitter.

User @anneyeonng1 also posted, “Bagay na bagay si Kim Chiu sa It’s Showtime lalo na yung tawa nya!!! Pampa-good vibes talaga.”

YouTube's First-Ever Virtual FanFest feat. More Than 150 Global YT Stars Happening on October 11

YouTube is delighted to announce the first ever virtual YouTube FanFest, presented by Globe and Piattos. Featuring over 150 creators and artists from across the region with special appearances from global YouTube stars, this year’s virtual YouTube FanFest celebrates the creative ingenuity of the creator and artist community in Asia-Pacfic, that has provided inspiration, entertainment, and moments of joy during this unprecedented time.

Fans of MNL48 Gush Over the #MNL48SaveTheDate Hashtag

MNL48's fans are dying to know the meaning of the #MNL48SaveTheDate hashtag.

With the non-stop offerings the group has been releasing, the fans are puzzled about what is happening next. On MNL48's Facebook and Twitter pages are pictures of the group's music videos with the #MNL48SavetheDate hashtag. The teaser photos were screen captures of their 4th and 5th singles, "Ikaw Ang Melody" and "High Tension."

After the postings, viewers have started speculating that something big might happen this September 30 and they have their own sets of theories.

Facebook user Ramon Siason guessed that it might be tied with the "River" song of the group, "River lyrics na yehey."

Another FB user Ran Deres thinks that it maybe a new group, "Feeling ko project girl group co-manage ng Star Hunt, tas ila launch sa Sept.30, feeling ko lang naman."

Facebook user Phionalyn Martinez, meanwhile, said that they are like detectives in searching for clues on the said announcement.

"So ayan na nga po mga kaibigan nagsisilabasan ang mga kapatid ni detective conan ano kanya kanyang conclusion ang mnloves pati sa mv ng HT na sa sep 30 daw magaganap ang save the date ano.... Ano po na ba kasing meron diyan ng ma-stop na ang aming pag-iisip kasi dudugo na utak namin," she said.

Meanwhile, Group L's reunion slated for September 25 (Friday) has been moved to October 2 (Friday). The voting for the new digital series, "MNL48 Presents Pranks Not Dead" is already finished with fans chosing MNL48 Jan, Andi, Coleen, Dian and Alice to be part of the series.

Groups MII and NIV recently had a reunion with their fans. MNL48’s sub unit group Baby Blue also released the music video of their newest single "Sweet Talking Sugar” last September 17. Since March, the group has been busy filming different digital series of "MNL48 Presents" namely, "MNL48 Presents: Chain" and "MNL48 Presents: Bye, Us."

The first Trolls movie unlocks the joy we feel from deep interpersonal connections in our community. If the movie had a thesis, it would be “tapping the source of happiness we possess inside and not fixating upon external quick fixes,” reflects producer Gina Shay.

“We didn’t want to follow the same template,” Shay says. “This movie is about all voices coming together to create a harmony. Everything comes from the story, or else it won’t feel authentic. At that moment in time in Trolls, there was a song that made everyone happy. It physically made you dance and sing. On Trolls World Tour, it’s about bringing everyone together.”

Cast as members of the different musical tribes is one the largest, and most acclaimed, groups of musical talent ever assembled for an animated film. From the land of Funk are Mary J. Blige, George Clinton and Anderson .Paak. Representing Country is Kelly Clarkson as Delta Dawn, with Sam Rockwell as Hickory and Flula Borg as Dickory. J Balvin brings Reggaeton, while Ester Dean adds to the Pop tribe. Anthony Ramos brings the beat in Techno and Jamie Dornan covers smooth jazz. A kidnapping incident will test the characters of Paulo Avelino, Zanjoe Marudo, Arci Munoz, and Angelica Panganiban and the values they hold dear in ABS-CBN's new action-drama series "Walang Hanggang Paalam," which makes its global premiere on Monday (September 28).

World Vision Ambassadors Ogie, Regine, Christian, Biance, Inigo Come in Full Force for the “One Voice for Children” Virtual Concert

World Vision's Ambassadors and Advocates have gathered for one night to support the groundbreaking "One Voice for Children" virtual concert.

With over 23,000 views and more than 2,500 engagements, the "One Voice for Children" fundraising concert raised a total of Php 350,000.00 donation in a span of two hours.

The all-star concert line-up was led by World Vision Ambassadors Ogie Alcasid, Christian Bautista, Iñigo Pascual, Quest, Perkins Twins, and JJ Dolor as performers. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid also had a special participation as a surprise guest performer. Hosted by Joyce Pring, the event was filled with messages of hope from World Vision Ambassadors and Advocates such as Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Tippy Dos Santos, Bianca Umali, Marc Nelson, Enzo Pineda, Gelli Victor, and Janina Vela.

World Vision's "One Voice for Children", is an inspirational concert that aims to support the child-focused organization's most vulnerable children and their families and communities.

"Producing/Directing in the new normal is very challenging. Lots of trial and error and it really takes us out of our comfort zone. But knowing that this was for a great cause and that so many artists were willing to get involved made it very fulfilling. I hope this will not be the last," said World Vision Ambassador Paolo Valenciano who also directed the fundraising concert.

The proceeds from the "One Voice for Children" Virtual Concert will go to one of World Vision's education projects that aims to assist the children during this COVID-19 pandemic through the the annual distribution of school kits.

Jona, Jayda, Moira, Kyla, KZ and Other Female Asian Artists Unite for ABS-CBN Music’s “Heal” Project

Filipino pride Jayda, Jona, Kyla, KZ Tandingan, Lesha, Moira Dela Torre, and Xela are collaborating with some of the most popular talents and emerging artists in Southeast Asia's music scene—Indonesian singers Rinni Wulandari and Yura Yunita, Malaysian artists DOLLA and Shalma Eliana, Singaporean talents Haneri and Haven, and Thai artist Valentina Ploy to deliver a message of hope in their upcoming single "HEAL."

These Southeast Asian artists lend their therapeutic voices for the inspirational song produced by ABS-CBN Music International which will drop on digital streaming platforms on September 11 (Friday).

The "Heal" project, a first in the region, seeks to convey love and spur unity for everyone's healing during these trying times. It was composed by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo, Moophs, and Alex Godinez aka Xela. Jonathan also served as its over-all producer.

Zack Snyder’s Zombie Action ‘Army of the Dead’ Gets a Film Prequel and Anime Series at Netflix

Zack Snyder's new zombie action heist film Army of the Dead is already spawning a film prequel and anime series at Netflix. Shay Hatten, one of the writers of the screenplay for Army of the Dead, will write the prequel as well as the anime series.

Quote from Zack Snyder: "I'm incredibly excited for the opportunity to partner with Netflix again as we expand the Army of the Dead universe with both an international prequel, as well as exploring the visually dynamic world of animation. It's been a great collaboration and we are thrilled that Netflix sees this as big of an IP as we do."

The prequel will be directed by and star Grimme Award winner Matthias Schweighöfer and will follow his Army of the Dead character "Ludwig Dieter". The movie will be produced out of Germany. The film will be produced by Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder and Wesley Coller of The Stone Quarry and Matthias Schweighöfer and Dan Maag of PANTALEON Films.

Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and upcoming Netflix Original Anime Series Trese) will be showrunning as well as directing 2 episodes of the series. The series will be Executive Produced by Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Wesley Coller from The Stone Quarry alongside Jay Olivia and Shay Hatten. Bautista, Ana de la Reguera, Tig Notaro, Omari Hardwick and Ella Purnell will reprise their roles in the anime series.

Wish Ko Lang! Celebrates Women’s Strength and Winning Moments in Life this September

Wish Ko Lang!, GMA Network's award-winning public service program, celebrates women's strength and winning moments in life this September with a series of four fresh episodes bannered by some of the country's top-notch actresses: Glydel Mercado, Rochelle Pangilinan, Arra San Agustin, Thea Tolentino, and Jean Garcia.

On September 5, Glydel Mercado brings to life the story of a mother who will do everything to save her children from a flash flood that threatens their lives. Joining Glydel in this episode entitled "Nalunod" are award-winning actors Allen Dizon and Therese Malvar.

The following week (September 12), Rochelle Pangilinan headlines the "Inararo" episode, a story about a couple who lost their jobs amid the pandemic and became fruit vendors to earn a living. Jason Abalos plays Rochelle's husband in the story. Also in the episode are Shayne Sava, Lexi Gonzales, and Irma Adlawan.

Arra San Agustin, Thea Tolentino, and Juancho Triviño are siblings whose relationship will be tested because of Herlene Budol's character in the September 19 episode entitled "Nasunog". In the story, Almira Muhlach plays the mother of Arra, Thea, and Juancho.

Rounding off the fresh stories this month is the "Inilibing" episode bannered by no less than Jean Garcia. Airing on September 26, Inilibing also features Vaness del Moral and Adrian Alandy. In the story, Lorna (Jean) thought that Efren (Adrian) was the perfect guy only to find out otherwise. It turns out that on top of being an abusive partner, Efren has another woman (Vaness). Lorna will do everything to fight for her life and for her child.

Wish Ko Lang! continues to win the hearts of viewers and netizens as well. For the past few months, the program has been airing fresh episodes amid the pandemic. Host Vicky Morales is grateful for the positive feedback the show has been getting.

ABS-CBN launches a tribute video for Filipinos who continue to fight, serve the nation, and care for others despite the challenges faced by the country.

Dubbed "Tinig ng Mga Nawalan," the video, which was released after "TV Patrol" on August 31 coinciding the celebration of National Heroes Day, features the voices of young superstars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, together with other Kapamilyas from within and outside the network. Among the video's creators and singers, including its director, are ABS-CBN workers affected by the retrenchment after the House of Representatives denied ABS-CBN's franchise renewal.

After 30 Years, Ted Failon Part Ways with ABS-CBN

Multi-awarded broadcast journalist Ted Failon is leaving ABS-CBN after 30 years. He will make his final appearance on "TV Patrol" and "Failon Ngayon sa TeleRadyo" on August 31.

The closure of ABS-CBN's radio broadcast operations led to his decision.

ABS-CBN, in a stetement, said: "We admire Ted's talent, passion, and commitment to radio as his most effective medium in serving the Filipino people.

We thank Ted for his many years of dedication and service as a Kapamilya broadcast journalist. He will always be a Kapamilya. We wish him well on his journey."

Failon is said to be moving to, Radyo 5, the radio station of rival network TV5.

Earlier this month, "Dos Por Dos" host Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja left the Kapamilya network and moved to DZRH.

Robi Domingo Says Goodbye to ABS-CBN’s MYX

Robi Domingo has finally said his goodbye to his stint as a MYX VJ.

On Instagram, the Kapamilya host looked back on the day he won the MYX VJ search back in 2008 after his stint as a housemate of "Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus."

"Found this big cheque the other day near my closet. Whenever I see this, I remember that night in Trinoma for the Myx VJ search in 2008, and also the value of it," he said.

"I don't see 100k worth of services but a million dreams and moments I gained when I became a part of this family," he added.

In another post, Robi said that it's because of MYX that he gets to speak.
