Join Runrio's 100 Steps Challenge for 'Pantawid ng Pag-Ibig' Virtual Run

Runners now have a chance to quench their thirst to complete a marathon even in the new normal sans the crowds and throng of other runners as SKY presents the third and final leg of the RUNRIO Trilogy Run Asia Virtual Run happening from November 28 to December 12.

In a virtual run, participants can run the distance they registered within their neighborhood or even on a treadmill at home. They are required to use a GPS-tracking app and a watch to time their run. Runners will be asked to take a photo of their race results and send them to info@runrio.com within two weeks.

To help participants prepare for the rigorous marathon, SKY will hold a series of training activities online and on cable.

On November 21, 4 PM, runners can train with Coach Rio during the live "SKY Rise and Grind" pre-run work-out via F.Y.E. Channel on Kumu. There will also be pre-recorded workout sessions on November 15 and 27 airing on SKY Community Channel 955 and RUNRIO's official Facebook page and Instagram TV.

On November 28, participants are invited for "Kick Off to T3," a pre-run warm-up program courtesy of Coach Rio, followed by the ceremonial gun start of the virtual marathon. Also airing via SKY's community channel 955 as well as on RUNRIO's FB and IG TV.

Meanwhile, 50 lucky participants have the chance to interact with Coach Rio himself on "Huddle with Coach Rio" via a live Zoom session happening on December 5. Special prizes and fun chit-chats await the runners during the online checkpoint hangout.

And as SKY aims to make a difference, it partners with ABS-CBN Foundation's "Pantawid ng Pag-ibig: Isang Daan. Isang Pamilya." campaign with its 100 Steps Challenge happening on December 6.

Anyone can join the fund-raising activity by posting on social media an actual video of themselves completing 100 steps, with the hashtag #100Hakbang1Pamilya. The first 300 runners to complete the challenge will receive a commemorative shirt. Meanwhile, SKY will make a donation for "Pantawid ng Pag-ibig" on behalf of all participants who joined the 100 Steps Challenge.

The RUNRIO Trilogy is the country's premier running series designed for runners who want to complete a marathon via a progression running program. In progression running, participants run at a slower pace until their speed and distance gradually increase at each virtual leg.

The annual event, which began in 2010, consists of a series of races, with each leg increasing in distance, starting from 21K, then 32K on the second leg, and finish with a 42K on its final leg.

“PBB” Ex-Housemates Join Forces to Help Typhoon Victims

"Pinoy Big Brother" Big Winners Nene Tamayo, Kim Chiu, Melai Cantiveros, Maymay Entrata, hosts Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzalez, and Robi Domingo, and several former housemates reunited online recently after accepting Big Brother's task to band together to help the victims of typhoon Rolly that battered the country.

According to Nene, the show's first Big Winner, people should always be ready to open their hearts and lend a helping hand to fellow Filipinos.

"It's important that we're always part of the solution. We should be the reason why people believe that there's still goodness in this world," Nene said.

Kim, Melai, Maymay, Bianca, and Robi also reminded the public the importance of prayer and keeping the faith to survive life's trials.

The PBB ex-housemates rekindled their connection via the special livestream event called "PBB Kumunect sa Pagtulong," wherein they shared stories, checked on each other, showcased their talent, and appealed to the public to donate to ABS-CBN Foundation in order to help more Filipinos who lost their homes and livelihood to the powerful typhoon.

Meanwhile, former housemate Barbie Imperial who hails from Albay, appealed to viewers to donate so her fellow Bicolanos can start rebuilding their lives. She shared that she wasn't able to contact relatives in Bicol for three days because the catastrophic typhoon affected the signal in their town.

"PBB Connect" host Toni Gonzaga on the other hand, offered a prayer to all victims that they may find the courage to bounce back in life.

Messages of hope and financial pledges also poured in from ex-housemates who sent their donations to ABS-CBN Foundation. Other ex-housemates also inspired and entertained viewers through song and dance numbers during the livestream. Some Kumuzens also shared messages of inspiration as a source of strength to rise again.

ABS-CBN and Kumu already started to strengthen the connection of Filipinos during this pandemic through "PBB Kumunect sa Pagtulong," which was hosted by Bianca Gonzalez together with ex-housemates Sky Quizon and Kiara Takahashi.

Held last October 10, the online chikahan became a fruitful conversation about breast cancer viewed by more than 6,200 people. Shaped for More with Morrisette: The BOOBwatch Fundraising Concert was streamed via Facebook, with more than 5,700 of viewers tuning in. Morrisette sang hits by Adele, Jessie J, and some of her own hit songs. The brand’s last event was a fun and energetic one, ending the festivities on a high note. The #JoinTheBoobment Manoeuvres Fitness Dance-a-thon, also streamed via Facebook Live, was one and half hours full of high-energy dance routines and happy people viewing and donating. The renowned dance group took viewers down memory lane, as they danced to the hits of the 70s all the way to the hits of today, making it a fun event from titas to millennials. During this session, Jason and James Zamora with James Gaddi taught the viewers a quick Tiktok dance tutorial that shows how easy and fast it is to do a breast check by yourself.

First Look: Tom Holland as Nathan Drake in "Uncharted"

Columbia Pictures has unveiled the first-look images its upcoming action adventure Uncharted, adapted from the massively popular PlayStation/Naughty Dog video game franchise.

Get your first look at Tom Holland as the young Nathan Drake and other iconic images in the stills below.

In his interview with Collider.com, Holland revealed the narrative thrust of the movie adaptation. Rather than retelling one of the games’ storylines, this Uncharted will give us a Nathan Drake origin story.

I think what Uncharted offers that most video games films don’t is that it’s an origin story to the games,” Holland says. “So if you played the games, you haven’t seen what’s going to happen in the film. And if you haven’t played the games, you’re going to enjoy the film because it’s information that everyone else is getting at the same time.”

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Uncharted also stars Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. The screenplay is by Rafe Judkins, Joe Carnahan, Art Marcum and Matthew Hollaway. The producers are Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, Charles Roven and Ari Arad.

Only in Philippine cinemas 2021, Uncharted will be distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Connect with #UnchartedMovie and tag columbiapicph

Why BL Series “Oh, Mando” Became an Instant Fan Favorite, Earns Positive Reviews

The new iWantTFC original series “Oh, Mando” topbilled by Kokoy De Santos has instantly captured fans and left them wanting more, as they praised its relatability, feel-good romcom take on the boys’ love genre, and “very Pinoy” flavor.

Since its pilot episode was made available on the platform, viewers have continuously shared positive reviews about the series on social media and YouTube, particularly about its sharp dialogue, witty jokes, and effective performances.

Twitter user @ikkooza said, “Lemme say it's really refreshing to see a full production BL series in the Philippines, in a full 30+ minute episode. This series is so PINOY, from the scenes and locations, to humor, to the prod design/ music etc. Thank you @DreamscapePH for #OhMando.”

Commending the pilot episode, @AngTerTer posted, “Kokoy de Santos really said ‘I'm one of the best actors of my generation’ as if we don't know that already. Also, #OhMandoEp1 is the strongest BL pilot to date. I said what I said.”

Galing ni Kokoy De Santos. Equally as talented are the support too esp his friends - Vince and Leslie. Riot yong tatlong to. I can't stop laughing with their lines and how they deliver it. And Alex Diaz, uggghhh sir, pwedeng fishball buddies din tayo?” said @dar_winnnn.

The first episode, now streaming on iWantTFC, finds college freshman Mando (Koko) dealing with sexual confusion and then heartbreak after he meets the dashing, out and proud gay basketball jock Barry (Alex Diaz).

YouTube reviewer Michael Carbon also found the series relatable, expressing his admiration for the element of fantasy and fairy tales used in the series.

Again, I found a BL series that is really me, that hits home to vulnerable people like us… It shows a part of us because we fantasize. It shows our vulnerability. We tend to have fairy tales, we want to have a happy ending. Everything was just so on-point for me. The dynamic of stories is great,” he said in his vlog.

We appreciate this kind of series that’s so feel-good. Very light. You laugh and then you get ‘kilig.’Dreamscape’s take on it is great because it has a mix of mature content, and shifts gears in other parts. It’s enjoyable, entertaining, satisfying,” he also added.

Award-winning Filipino-American Musical Director Troy Laureta Champions OPM Ballads in Upcoming Album “Kaibigan: A Troy Laureta OPM Collective”

Award-winning Filipino-American musical director Troy Laureta, who has gained recognition for his works with Ariana Grande, David Foster, and Jake Zyrus, is producing an OPM album seeking to showcase the classic Pinoy love ballads to the world.

ABS-CBN Music International will co-produce the album to be called "Kaibigan: A Troy Laureta OPM Collective," slated for release on November 22 (Sunday). Global artists from America and Asia will be interpreting well-loved OPM classics.

"I've always felt that OPM deserved it's time to cross over in some way, where foreigners would appreciate our style that is so beautiful and musical," Troy said.

"I'm really blessed to do a lot of stuff around the world and work with so many cool, dope people. But it is so important for me as a musician to give back to my community as much energy, time, and effort I have given so many artists around the world," he added.

The talented producer has also previously worked with Andrea Bocelli, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Steven Tyler, The Pussycat Dolls, and several Filipino artists including Jay-R, Kyla, and Lani Misalucha.

Aside from his aspiration to promote Pinoy ballads outside the Philippines, the project is also the musician's way of rediscovering how OPM influenced his musical journey and contributed to his success in the US.

"Most of the artists that I have worked with appreciate and respect my passion for piano music and love songs. OPM was a major factor in that," revealed Troy, who shared how ABS-CBN teleseryes and "ASAP" via TFC greatly influenced his musical choices.

Born to Filipino parents, Troy grew up in Hawaii and later moved to Los Angeles in California to pursue his music career. He has an eclectic taste in music, enjoying pop, R&B, and ballad music, as well as reggae, punk, and metal.
