The Walking Dead S7, Legion, 24: Legacy, Billions S2, Premieres This February on FOX

February proves to be an extremely exciting month for FOX Philippines as the channel announces the premiere of several hit US television series.

Several FOX shows are returning to the channel in February, including The Walking Dead, Billions, and WWE’s wrestling programs, while new shows Legion and 24: Legacy are set to bring more prestige to an already strong lineup. To promote this huge boost in programming, FOX is teaming up with Philippine escape room game Breakout to host an experience called FOXtreme Breakout, which will bring elements of these shows closer to viewers in a unique escape room challenge that will run from February 9 to 12 at Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City.

The new and returning television shows that will be premiering this month on FOX all have day & date telecasts and are based on exciting, adrenaline-pumping content. Legion is based on a Marvel comic book that follows the life of David Haller, who is diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder and soon discovers that he’s a powerful mutant - probably one of the most powerful that’s ever lived. Starring Dan Stevens (Beauty and the Beast, Downton Abbey), this 10-episode limited series premieres in the US on February 8 and in the Philippines on FOX on February 9 at 8 PM.

Another exciting release on FOX is 24: Legacy, a spin-off of the hit TV show 24. The series stars Corey Hawkins and Miranda Otto and follows the story of Eric Carter, an ex-Army Ranger who is being sought by a terrorist group and tries to stop one of the largest attacks to potentially happen in the US. This heart-stopping 12-episode series will show exclusively on FOX and premiere in the US on February 5, with a Philippine premiere on February 6 at 8 PM.

Meanwhile, the highly successful series The Walking Dead returns to FOX on February 13 in the Philippines at 11:35 AM simultaneously with the US, with an 8:55 PM replay for viewers in the evening. This mid-season premiere continues the explosive Season 7 of the zombie apocalypse-based show. Billions is also returning to FOX for its 13-episode second season, premiering on February 20 at 9:50 PM exclusively on the channel.

FOX is also the Philippines’ Home of Wrestling, with its wide roster of WWE titles such as Raw, SmackDown, and Royal Rumble

On February 14, FOX’s local production Wrestling Gods adds to the channel’s testosterone-fueled wrestling mania when it premieres at 9:50 PM.

Viewers can also experience all these great shows on FOX up close by joining the FOXtreme Breakout challenge at the Ground Floor of Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City from February 9 to 12. The channel teamed up with premier escape room game Breakout to create a series of interconnected rooms that each emulate the look and feel of the shows premiering in February on the channel. Teams of four will have about 20 minutes to finish going through the experience, in which they’ll have to fish a key off a “walker” in The Walking Dead room; take on shooting challenges in the 24: Legacy room; play a tough game of rock-paper- scissors with five big wrestlers in the WWE room; test their sanity while going through a mirror maze in the Legion room; and claim their prizes in the Billions room. FOXtreme Breakout is a fun way for viewers to immerse themselves in FOX’s newest and most-loved shows as well as win prizes.

Participants can form teams of four and register online at www.breakout.com.ph to reserve a slot and enjoy the game for free.

Charo Espedido, Director and Head of Content & Marketing at FOX Networks Group Philippines, said, “The addition of new shows like Legion and 24: Legacy along with the return of hit shows like The Walking Dead, Billions, and our favorite WWE programs to FOX make it clear that we are determined to deliver the most exciting, action-packed US entertainment content to our viewers. We’re excited to share these shows and engage with FOX’s viewers at the FOXtreme Breakout game in Uptown Mall this month so that we can whet their appetites for the amazing shows they’ll see on their TV screens soon.”

THE FOXtreme Breakout will run in Uptown BGC from February 9 to 12, 2017.

FIFTY SHADES DARKER Earns the Biggest Ever Box-Office Results for an R-18 Film

Universal Pictures’ Fifty Shades Darker opened with a smash P18-M yesterday, breaking the record for the biggest 1st day gross ever for an R-18 and even an R-16 rated film.

The sequel’s opening day receipts also surpassed the original Fifty Shades of Grey’s first-day take of P15-M in 2015.

Earlier, Fifty Shades Darker was approved for exhibition by the Movie & Television Rating and Classification Board (MTRCB) with a rating of R-18 which means the movie is strictly for 18 years of age and above.

The film was approved in its original US version – WITHOUT cuts, blurs and blacked-out parts.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Darker, the second chapter based on the worldwide bestselling Fifty Shades phenomenon. Expanding upon events set in motion in 2015’s blockbuster film that grossed more than $560 million globally, the new installment invites you to slip into something a shade darker.

When a wounded Christian Grey tries to entice a cautious Ana Steele back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance.  As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.

Also returning from Fifty Shades of Grey are Academy Award® winner Marcia Gay Harden, Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Rita Ora, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini, who are joined for the first time by Oscar® winner Kim Basinger, Hugh Dancy, Bella Heathcote and Eric Johnson.

Fifty Shades Darker is directed by James Foley (Fear, House of Cards) and once again produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Marcus Viscidi, alongside E L James, the creator of the culture-spanning blockbuster series. The screenplay is by Niall Leonard, based on the book by James.

Now playing across the Philippines, Fifty Shades Darker is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

Cesar Montano in Word War with Son Diego Loyzaga

May pinaghuhugutan or sadyang disrespectful lang?!

Diego Loyzaga puzzled many of his fans on Tuesday when he threw tact out the window and suddenly went after his father, actor Cesar Montano.

In a series of Instagram posts, the Kapamilya young actor called his father Cesar a liar and a hypocrite, and attacked his dad for rejecting him when he was young.

"Sa lahat ng nakakabasa nito, iisipin niyo siguro wala akong respeto kasi ama ko iyan. Pero sana tandaan niyo na mula ng pinanganak ako ng nanay ko eh dineny na ako niyan hangang ngayon! Kaya siguro puwede ako magsalita ng ganito," he wrote.

On his Instagram account, Diego, appearing to have been provoked, unleashed several scathing posts against Cesar whom he said has accused him of being drug addict.

"Ito ka ???? @cesar_montano #sakaypa!!! Padamputin mo na ako [at] lagyan ako ng karatula, 'di ba iyan ang sinabi mo?" he wrote.

Tanner Mata Wins "Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7" House and Lot

Tanner Mata may be part of "Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7," but there was no luck involved in his win against fellow housemate Jerome Alcere, which earned Mata a brand-new house and lot.

Tanner, a commercial model, beat Alcere in a challenge that involved stacking nearly a dozen small wooden houses on top of each other using only a long, thin rod. Making it more difficult, the two first had to navigate each piece that they grabbed through a maze.

He said that having a house he can call his own provides the "stability" he needs in his life at the moment. Mata was raised in the US by his mother and stepfather, but decided to migrate to the Philippines as he strives to become more independent.

He works as a commercial model. He is one of the remaining housemates from the teen, celebrity, and adult editions of this season's "Pinoy Big Brother."

Every Dog Happens for a Reason in A DOG'S PURPOSE

Told from a dog's perspective, Universal Pictures' feel-good movie A Dog's Purpose shares the heartwarming and surprising story of one devoted dog (voiced by Frozen's Josh Gad) who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love.

Over the course of five decades, a single voice-that of an indefatigable dog-takes us along a riveting and uplifting path that speaks to the heart of anyone who has ever loved an animal. Although he is reincarnated in the bodies of multiple canines through the years, it is his unbreakable bond with a kindred spirit named Ethan that carries and inspires one dog throughout his journey to find a true purpose for his boy.

In 1962, eight-year-old Ethan Montgomery (Bryce Gheisar) and his mother (Juliet Rylance) rescue a Golden Retriever puppy they discover suffering inside a hot car. Despite the reservations of Ethan's father (Luke Kirby), the family adopts the pup they name Bailey, and the friendship of a lifetime ensues.

Bailey is wholly the responsibility of Ethan – who feeds, walks and trains his puppy, as well as teaches him unforgettable tricks along the way. As Ethan becomes a teenager (KJ Apa) , he finds his first romantic love in the charming and caring Hannah (Tomorrowland's Britt Robertson), while remaining inseparable with his faithful Bailey.

Fresh off of a football career-ending injury and a devastating breakup with Hannah, Ethan heads to college to begin his next chapter. Unable to bring Bailey with him, he has to leave his trusty companion at home. While away at school, the aging Bailey becomes sick, and Ethan makes it to the veterinarian just in time for their final goodbye. Ethan is inconsolable.
Just as we think that is the end of their bond...Bailey is reborn in the body of Ellie, a German Shepherd K-9 first responder with the Chicago Police Department. Indeed, no one is more surprised at this turn of events than the wiggly puppy who knows he is still Ethan's best friend. The audience next meets reincarnations of Bailey as a Corgi named Tino, then an Australian Shepherd/St. Bernard mix named Buddy.

Though Bailey is unsure why his soul keeps returning again and again for new adventures, he will discover that the purpose of his many lifetimes is more crucial to his boy than he could have ever imagined.

Joining the talented cast of A Dog's Purpose are Dennis Quaid and Peggy Lipton as Ethan and Hannah as adults; John Ortiz as Carlos, Ellie's police officer owner; Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Maya, Tino's human; Pooch Hall as Al, Maya's love interest; and Nicole Laplaca and Primo Allon as Wendi and Victor, Buddy's neglectful owners, whose carelessness will ultimately lead our hero home.

Director Lasse Hallstrom, A Dog's Purpose is adapted for the screen by Cameron & Cathryn Michon (Muffin Top: A Love Story) and Audrey Wells (Shall We Dance) and Maya Forbes (Infinitely Polar Bear) & Wally Wolodarsky (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days).

Opening across the Philippines on March 1st, A Dog's Purpose is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

Followers in and outside the Philippines have witnessed how the two Kapamilya stars evolved as actors in their recent TV series. Before the series, they were first paired in the film "She's the One" in 2013, with Bea Alonzo and Dingdong Dantes. Their first lead film was "Just the Way You Are" in 2015 which was immediately followed the same year by another film, "Everyday I Love You."

Now, after a year of skipping the silver screen, the love team is back and will star in a light but relatable film which will show how their characters they will portray will be engaged what in the words of Gil, is a "more mature relationship" compared with their previous characters.

Describing their roles, Enrique first talked about his character Gio: "I play a playboy who will try to prove he has changed.

On the other hand, Liza will portray Gio's ex-girlfriend Cali.  "My character is very modern – a blogger – who is hesitant to fall in love again. She is afraid to get hurt all over again," Liza says.

She grabs the opportunity and meets him, only to find out that he's her ex-boyfriend Gio who has once broken her heart and who is reaching out to win back her heart on purpose.

To have a better understanding of the film's story, Liza shares their tactic. "We asked guys about different situations in relationships and why men cheat" she relates.

The film started to grind last year, and some of the scenes were shot in the popular tourist spots in South Korea. This film is under the supervision of the box office director Cathy Garcia-Molina who was behind popular films like "One More Chance," "A Very Special Love," and "My Amnesia Girl" to name a few.

Also starring in the film are Joey Marquez, Ara Mina, Arlene Muhlach, Dominic Roque, Ryan Bang, Neil Coleta, Cai Cortez, and Hyubs Azarcon.

As Gio tries to prove to Cali that he's a changed man, can Cali open her heart again to love and give her old flame a second chance? With equally important roles are Ara Mina as Mariz and Ms Jean Garcia as Diony.

Joining them are Victor Neri as Cesar, Allan Paule as Hector, Geleen Eugenio as Yoleng, Janna Dominguez as Chona, Lharby Policarpio as Boggs.
