Clothing Brand BUM Collaborates with PEPSI for a Limited Edition Merchandise Collection

One of the world’s most iconic and recognized consumer brands globally - Pepsi is partnering with one of the hottest local streetwear brands in the country - BUM for a limited edition of merchandise and is dubbed as the ‘BUM x Pepsi Capsule Collection’.

It will be the first-ever for this global brand to tie up with a retail clothing line to expand its territories by having t-shirts, hoodies, jogger pants, shorts, caps, shorts and bags that bear with both brands’ identifiable elements like the colors red, white and blue. Its designs are inspired from the vintage and Retro look of Pepsi.

SWS and Pulse Asia: Over Half of Metro Manila Homes Already on Digital Terrestrial TV

More than half of the total number of homes in Metro Manila are watching television via digital terrestrial television (DTT), according to the latest surveys conducted by Pulse Asia and SWS.

Pulse Asia and SWS both conducted surveys in March, which showed, respectively, that 51% and 56% of Metro Manila homes own a DTT box, which gives a better TV viewing experience and more choices in terms of programs and channels.

The Pulse Asia and SWS surveys also found, respectively, that 16% and 17% of households nationwide have a DTT box.

The results from the polling firms show that more and more consumers are making the big switch from analog to DTT, as ABS-CBN reports it has sold a cumulative total of five million ABS-CBN TVplus boxes as of May 3.

ABS-CBN Tvplus, which was launched in 2015, enables viewers to enjoy clearer picture and audio quality, affordable pay-per-view services, and free exclusive channels without any monthly and installation fee.

With the robust sales of ABS-CBN TVplus driving the rise in DTT penetration, ABS-CBN is ahead of other broadcast companies in supporting the government’s mandate for the full shift from analog to DTT by 2023.

Since its launch three years ago, ABS-CBN TVplus has expanded its signal coverage in the country to reach residents in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Rizal, Laguna, Pampanga, Tarlac, Benguet, Cavite, Metro Cebu, Cagayan De Oro, Iloilo, Bacolod, and Davao.

While ABS-CBN TVplus’ latest milestone indicates that more Filipinos are eager to enjoy its life-changing benefits, it also means that viewers are enjoying ABS-CBN TVplus’ program offerings, translating into higher viewership for two of its exclusive channels.

CineMo, the first-ever all-day movie channel to air on ABS-CBN TVplus, is now the third most watched channel in Metro Manila with an average audience share of 7% for the month of April, according to data from Kantar Media covering urban and rural homes.

Netflix Reveals First Look and Launch Date for "DISENCHANTMENT"

From the mind of Matt Groening (The Simpsons, Futurama) comes adult animated comedy fantasy series Disenchantment, with 10 episodes launching on Netflix, 17 August 2018.

In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.

The series will feature the voice talents of Abbi Jacobson (“Bean”), Nat Faxon (“Elfo”) and Eric Andre (“Luci”), along with John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery. Animation is being done by Rough Draft Studios (Futurama).

Disenchantment is produced by The ULULU Company for Netflix, with Matt Groening and Josh Weinstein (The Simpsons, Futurama) serving as executive producers.

“Inday Will Always Love You” Beats Kapamilya Primetime Show on its Pilot Episode

It was indeed a "bonggang" pilot airing for Inday Will Always Love You (IWALY) as the latest rom-com series on GMA Network's primetime block beat its rival program and dominated social media during its debut last Monday, May 21.

The GMA News and Public Affairs-produced series that highlights the unique beauty and rich culture of Cebu recorded a 42 percent overnight people share according to Nielsen Philippines TAM's National Urban Philippines data. IWALY's counterpart show, ABS-CBN's Since I Found You, only managed to get 34.8 percent.

Viewers and netizens alike cannot help but be captivated by the bubbly and positive attitude of Happylou Magtibay, played by award-winning Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza.

Online, IWALY also made a buzz with the hashtag #IWALYBonggangPilot landing on the top spot of the trending topics in the Philippines which ran hours before the actual airing until morning the next day.

Praising Barbie’s character, a netizen with Twitter handle @archie_live said: “Ang lakas maka good vibes ni Happylou. Think positive lang!” Meanwhile, @reighnismsaid commended Barbie’s acting skills. “I thought this will be another trashy serye pero IT IS NOT! Barbie Forteza has grown a lot. Galing!”

Another netizen, @raziealbano, expressed her appreciation of the new romcom series: “This is the type of serye na masarap imarathon ng paulet ulet in the future”. @CaroleDevera said: “Ang saya ng #IWALYBonggangPilot maraming matutulog ng may ngiti sa mga labi,” while @Jan_RBLX, commented: “I LIKE #IWALYBonggangPilot Happylou is so cuuuuute!!! At palaban!!!Pati lechon is so cute!!!”

Fans of the Derrick Monasterio and Barbie love team (DerBie) were quick to share their happiness over the return of their favorite on-screen couple. “DerBie is back,” said Twitter user @dealwthERICA while @jennelynsamolde quipped: “First sulyap is soooo kilig. Why @derrickleander why?”

At the same time, netizens found themselves craving for Cebu’s famous lechon which plays an integral part in the series since HappyLou works in a lechon store.

“My mom will love this, she likes to eat lechon,” said @donnalee2010 while @korinhatesyou could not help but tweet: “i want to eat lechon din tuloy my goood (sic).”

Piolo Pascual and Arci Munoz Break-up Reveals

Richard Guiterrez Signs an Exclusive Contract with ABS-CBB

Actor Richard Gutierrez and singer KZ Tandingan signed their respective exclusive two-year contracts with ABS-CBN on Thursday, May 10.

Josh Brolin Sheds Thanos Skin, Inhabits Highly-Anticipated “DEADPOOL 2” as Cable

After breaking box office records, Ryan Reynolds returns as "Deadpool" and this time the Merc with the Mouth's movie is bigger and more badass than ever.

"Deadpool" debuted in February 2016 with the biggest R-rated opening of all time and went on to be the highest-grossing R-rated film in history with more than $750-million globally. "Deadpool" was also honored as the first live-action superhero movie to be nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Picture in the Comedy or Musical category, and Ryan Reynolds was also nominated as Best Actor.

Academy Award-nominated actor Josh Brolin has starred in a slate of films, ranging from "No Country For Old Men" and "Sicario," all the way back to the now-classic "Goonies." In "Deadpool 2," Brolin stars as one of the most highly-anticipated screen personas in recent history: the time-traveling Cable, a warrior infected with the techno-organic virus that renders him cybernetic.

"One of the things that made "Deadpool" popular was that, while it was silly and irreverent, it also had a heart and real angst and grounded emotions," says writer/executive producer Rhett Reese. "Wade Wilson is someone who leads a pretty tormented life and lives on the edge of society. We wanted to carry that into "Deadpool 2," and we worked in some pretty serious, dark plots. Deadpool is still on the fringe, he hasn't really made much of his life and he is still scrounging to get by – which is always endearing. The Cable character has also lost a great deal. He has lost his wife and daughter at the hands of a mad man, and he's doing anything in his power, including traveling back in time, to solve that issue and bring them back. "Cable is a stalwart of X-Force," says writer/executive producer Paul Wernick. "Deadpool is the gateway into the X-Force world, and an essential part. Cable is the straight man to Deadpool's madness. He provides an almost parallel emotional core. Despite them being very different, they're very similar in that they're both broken. They've both lost something and are in search of something. Ultimately, they find each other."

"Josh is a treasure and one of the great actors of our generation. We're just privileged to have him," says Wernick. "Josh is incredible," adds Sood. "He personifies this character that's been a fan favorite for years. I think it's going to be really exciting for everybody to see it on the screen. It was great for us, because we got to look at all those wonderful Cable - Deadpool stories and try to get the essence of what that relationship was and translate it to the screen. They are incredibly strong-willed personalities. Sparks fly between them. The movie is not a buddy movie in any way, but you can see the beginnings of a partnership that may yield even bigger results in the future."

"Deadpool" creator Rob Liefeld, also created Cable. He says, "Josh Brolin could not be more perfect for the role. He's one of the most talented actors of all space and time!" Liefeld recalls meeting Brolin on set and thinking, "I'm meeting Cable! How awesome is this!?! I dare anyone to meet one of your own creations and not get umpteen butterflies in your stomach." To morph into the fighting machine Cable, Brolin worked out diligently for months and was also extremely disciplined in his dietary habits. “Teen Wolf” Tyler Posey Plays a Twisted Game of “TRUTH OR DARE”

He became a household name when he starred as Scott McCall on the long-running MTV series Teen Wolf, which aired its 100th and final episode in September 2017.

Now, Tyler Posey joins Lucy Hale (TV's Pretty Little Liars) as college seniors Lucas and Olivia in Truth or Dare, a supernatural thriller from Blumhouse Productions (Happy Death Day, Get Out, Split).

In the film, a group of college friends heads to Mexico for one last getaway before they begin their post-grad lives and head their separate ways. As with any core crew, long-brewing romances and allegedly buried conflicts begin to emerge as they prepare to say goodbye. When a handsome stranger cons Olivia into getting her friends to play a supposedly silly game of "Truth or Dare," they awaken a trickster demon that is hell-bent on getting them to share their darkest secrets or confront their deepest fear…and if they don't, they'll pay the ultimate price.

Ultimately, the trickster forces the group to decide how far they are willing to go to protect their friends. "Olivia and Markie's relationship is the central one in the film, which is why it has to be tested," shares director Jeff Wadlow. "Both of them are in love with Lucas, and he's the third point of that triangle. They have to learn what it is like to sacrifice everything for the ones you love, if they want to make it out alive."

Lucas is not simply Markie's boyfriend, but he shares an unspoken crush with Olivia. They've known each other since they were freshmen, and have made peace with the idea that they're just going to be friends. A good guy with a strong heart, Lucas can be tough when he needs to be. That makes for quite the compelling character, because he's about to be in a situation where he's got to make some life-or-death choices. The first person to believe that Olivia is telling the truth is Lucas, because he gets his turn after her. When you get a turn, you realize that this is not a hoax. This is not a joke. This is happening for real.

Posey reflects that Lucas is just as unbelieving as the rest of his group that the events are going down…until the game burns the question into his forearm. "Even though Lucas doesn't know how to handle everything that's coming at them, he's good at calculating and being methodical. If Olivia's the brains of the group and the leader, he's the idea guy. He's trying to maintain peace in the group as they learn to deal with what's happening."

The actor particularly loved Lucas' trip back to Rosarito—alongside Markie and Olivia—to find the root of evil and stop the game once and for all. "Our characters return to Mexico to talk to this woman and survived a massacre, and try and figure out a way to break the curse," explains Posey. "While we're at it, we're trying to convince the same creep that brought us out to play 'Truth or Dare' to begin with to cut his own tongue out!"

Already a recognizable television star due to the tremendous fan base of Teen Wolf, Posey has begun to establish himself on the big screen as well. In 2016, Posey starred in Kevin Smith's feature comedy Yoga Hosers.

In Philippine cinemas May 9, Truth or Dare is distributed in the Philippines by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.
